Petterino's Ratings and Reviews
An amazing night-took family for their Holiday gift to see Hamilton and to PETTERINO'S for the FABULOUS Pre-Theater dining. PRIX-FIXE menu for 3 courses at $36.00! Our non-sugar eating folk were able to substitute 2 appetizers(who does that?!!) So accommodating. Everyone was satisfied from healthy eaters to those indulging in extreme comfort foods! Great cocktails, too! We keep coming back! AND on can leave your car with the valet during the play AND leave your doggie bags to pick up with the car! Really wonderful experience-start to finish.
We were 10 minutes early for our reservation, so we had to wait a bit even though there were open tables. Then they sat a few other groups of people who also had a 5:15 reservation while we waited. I felt like since I had my girls with me (9 and 11 YO), I was made to wait even though there were open tables. The food was good and our server was very attentive... but disappointed about the hostess.
Really enjoyed our meal, except the short ribs - the sauce was so salty it was inedible. Thankfully the staff was really accommodating and adjusted the meal. We had the pot pie, salmon, chicken armando, and bolognese, all of which were great. And definitely get the mouse cake!
This is the perfect spot for pre and post theater. The waiters are very aware of curtain times and really hustle to keep your schedule but don"t make you feel rushed. The prix fix menu is great but we were too full to appreciate the lucious dessert ( tiramisu and chocolate cake). The tables are too close for serious conversation but they can accomodate a bustling theater crowd that way. Our go to place before or after the show !
Restaurant was moderately busy and our meal took a long time to prepare (30 minutes)
Waiters assistant was very efficient - water always full and brought us excellent bread!
Waitress Shannon was a bit stressed. Seemed impatient with our menu questions.
Ordered Filet Mignon wit Tater Tots - steak was good, tater tots (2) were not.
Told Shannon we were dis-satisfied and asked for a side if pasta - which was excellent.
Shannon became a bit distant from that point on.
Upon leaving, we decided we would not be back.
The location is excellent if attending one of the theaters with an enjoyable atmosphere, good service and reasonably priced. If going for lunch on Saturday or Sunday there is no lunch menu and you order from the dinner menu. We have dined at Petterinos on a number of occasions when we go to the theater.
We absolutely loved Petterino's. We went to a matinee, and had a fabulous dinner. We chose the Fixed Menu. We chose something different for all three courses and shared them. We couldn't of been happier. The food was delicious, the server Tim, was friendly and very helpful. We wanted extra dressing and bread plates, and he was very busy, but he quickly brought our requests. I can't say enough positive remarks for this restaurant. We all loved it and will return, again and again.
I brought two friends to this restaurant for their first time. They were so impressed with the decor and variety of menu choices. Our lunch was very good and we never felt rushed. This restaurant is perfect for lunch or dinner before or after a play. Perfect location
Petterino's is a classy place. A group of six ladies enjoyed lunch there prior to a theater matinee. Thus making it very busy and a person in our group ordered medium well and the rest of our meals were lukewarm. DELICIOUS, but not hot. We understood the issues, but it did take a bit away from the food. Every dish was tasty especially the whitefish, crab cakes were magnificent and the key lime pie was to die for!!! Great waitstaff....just a busy place on a Wed. matinee day.
Overall our experience was really great. My only complaint would be...our reservation was for 6:00 and we arrived promptly at 6. The hostess said we were checked in and after watching groups being seated and the hostess just looking our direction and quickly looking away, my sister told me to go back up. When I walked up to the hostess, who was not real warm and fuzzy, she told me I was never checked in. We were seated shortly after 6:25. We were none too pleased about this. However, the food and drinks were very good.
Excellent food and service. We went after the theatre crowd cleared out so the noise level was low and it was enjoyable. Also this restaurant keeps its heat on and even though we were there during frigid temps it was perfectly warm. Good quality food and great service. Reminds me of Sardi’s in NY.
Have eaten here before. Food always good. This visit our waiter was extremely attentive. I did not like our seating, we we're sandwiched between two other tables so very uncomfortable to have a private conversation but it was before the theater so didn't want to make a fuss.
The menu had many choices that sounded good along with a three course fixed price option which I chose to do. The appetizer of fried calamari was done to my liking of a crisp crust, but tender calamari inside the crust. For an entree I chose the almond crusted whitefish. It was quite tasty even without the sauce that was in a cup on the side. It came with roasted cauliflower, but I should have asked the waiter if a substitute for the roasted cauliflower could have been made since I'm not a big fan of it. The special dessert that night was their doughnut bread pudding which was tasty, but a bit heavier than what I expected.
The waiter was attentive, but we did feel like the restaurant was trying to turn tables quickly.
We came for dinner before a show. The atmosphere was warm, inviting and convivial. Our server was attentive and the food was good. The pace was perfect, leaving us ample time to relax, eat, talk and make it to the show easily. Everyone appeared to be enjoying themselves, so the atmosphere was great.
We decided to get a nice dinner before our NYE plans. The restaurant seated us for our reservation right away, and didn't mind that my boyfriend was running a few minutes behind. It was very full, unsurprisingly so, and fairly noisy as a result, but that didn't bother me. We knew this would be a bit of a splurge for us-- I got the filet which was yummy as a whole, but a little dry despite correctly cooked to medium as requested. My boyfriend got the scallops and risotto, which he really enjoyed due to the saffron it featured. I would definitely go back to try something else in the future. The cocktails we ordered were tasty and came out fairly quickly. My biggest concern seems to align with other reviews regarding the service. We sat for a long time waiting for our waiter multiple times. While I understand that it was NYE, it seemed consistent with complaints I read here and on Yelp. That said, it was worth the visit and I would be happy to return to try something new!
