Petros - Manhattan Beach
“Our menu is a combination of the best ingredients that Greece and California cuisine have to offer. We import olive oil, feta, honey, oregano and wines from Greece, the freshest organic vegetables from our farms in Los Olivos and wineries of our great state. Quality, simplicity, healthy and tasty food is the creation of that combination. Enjoy.”

Great food, good ambience, average service. It was a fun evening.
PETROS is our go to for a fun sunday family dinner. Always great!
One of my favorite places. I go there all the time.
Grew food and excellent service.
Great overall experience and food! It was a great place to meet friends and entertain!
Sad that Petro's does not have the same quality of food it used to. Everything we ordered, from the fava dip to the chicken, had not enough flavor, seasoning or salt. Does not taste like Greek food at all! The gyro meat was a huge disappointment. It tasted and looked like frozen meat that was heated up. The very high prices they charge for the food certainly do not match or justify the quality of the food. One person in our party felt really sick after eating the gyro. Unfortunately, we will never come back here.
Watermelon tomato salad is always amazing, and they make a very good Mai Tai. Very attentive service.
Food was great! Service was sub par
We were seated in the corner of the restaurant which was fine for eating and running. shade hotel setting up a Halloween party and making noise, the upstairs petros crew was setting up decorations and having casual conversation while we ate.
The fire warmer went out, it was freezing but eventually the waitress came back out 20 minutes later. The table was on an incline which makes it uncomfortable for anyone facing East to enjoy anything.
By the time we got the food it was cold. The Alfredo sauce was luke warm and the fish was completely cold. Same with appetizers.
At the end of the day if you’re in the mood to get shoved into a corner facing shade, and a wind tunnel, then sit in the corner.
This was a birthday dinner that was supposed to be fun. As we were leaving we noticed that no one else was seated in that area.
I can say with all sincerity that this has by far been one of the most disturbing and unsatisfactory dining experiences.
Regardless of the crappy service and even crappier food temps, I still left a 25% tip, I don’t regret it, but I do regret coming here for dinner. The birthday celebration turned into a rain check towards a better experience.
Note to the person who should be managing the restaurant:
Try to exercise a bit more of intelligence when people are dressed for a celebration, eager to enjoy the restaurant and or decent food. Don’t ever shove people in the bloody pathway and forget about them. The only silver lining was the server who relived our waitress and did everything with a smile and that’s why I left a 25% tip. There is a first and last time to experience a lackluster experience, and I thought that this experience would have at least been upgraded from all of the previous visits, but that’s a big negative. We’ve been to the restaurant 8 times and every visit has fallen short. This was the last.
Food needed more seasoning. This place used to be great but was not the same.
Sat outside and enjoyed the evening, chatted with a young couple with well behaved daughter and infant son. Appetizer and lamb dish very tender and tasty, finished meal with a delightful, huge chocolate moose. Will finish last night's left overs at dinner tonight.
Had the gyro pita and crispy fries with the avgolemono soup and shared a bottle of red wine. Super nice server, great ambiance. Petros continues to be one of our go-to places for regular dining.
The food is healthy and delicious, we are always happy to dine at Petros.
Great food, great waiter, as always.
Our experience at Petros was a bit disappointing. It wasn't necessarily bad, it was OK, but the service was really 'cold', 'flat', and kind of alienating. We didn't feel welcomed by the host staff (they were a bit rude) and the team approach of the wait staff left something to be desired. Our lead server did not do the basics: ask us if we had any questions about the menu, recommend items, notice our empty wine/cocktail glasses and ask if we wanted additional drinks, etc. We travel a lot and frequent many restaurants (in fact our son is a server/manager at a local MB restaurant) and have a good sense of good vs mediocre service. We are accustomed to warm and engaging service for the most part wherever we go in the country. There are many, many restaurant choices...but we definitely will not put Petros on our list in the future.
We wanted a quiet dinner but the acoustics in the restaurant made every conversation loud. It was hard to enjoy our own party. Food and wine were excellent and service was good. Being a Saturday night it got busy after 7 especially at the bar. The experience at the Petros winery was excellent.
The food was very good, overall. Moderately priced, too. Nothing super special, but very solid selections. We enjoyed the super salad and watermelon mint, as well as the special red snapper and pork chop. Mixed vegetables a little lackluster (red peppers and a few zucchini slices) and the setting outside is comfortable but there’s not much to look at in the courtyard. It’s quieter, though, but even outside you’ll still hear the indoor chatter and TV and bar noise. All fresh tasting and service was decent.
Petros is always a good meal and a good vibe. My only request would be to add a few more options that are vegan (accidently is fine).
I ordered the rice and grilled veggies and pea dip and it made a wonderful meal and it was super good!
Restaurant was busy and service was slow because of large tables of people getting served. Noise level was high due to large tables of people
God food and good service. Nice and safe environment.
Way too noisy
Acoustics are terrible inside
Drunk group behind us was obnoxious
Manager should have intervened
Other tables complained
Always a pleasure dining here. Very enjoyable and relaxing
really great spot . great view, great food and a lovely day to boot.
Everybody was content. The food was excellent: from the dip appetizer that was more than enough to share between 5 of us to the souvlaki and the muzzakha and the pasta. The service was
efficient , professional and had a great attitude . A perfect Sunday night experience!
We were outdoors and the table was surrounded with flies and there was no way to get rid of them.
Food was awful ! This is not a real Greek restaurant. I will never go there again.
Amazing food, I wanted to keep eating….wonderful service. Great wine selection.
We were there to celebrate a birthday and they did nothing for the birthday boy. We told the hosts and waiter.
Feta crusted rack of lamb ….. so good . Will be back
Food was mediocre - pretty bland and the opposite of what you'd expect from a Greek restaurant.
The lamb is to die for! Halibut was perfectly cooked, with light brown and crispy on top.
I eat at Petrie often. Food is always good. However, service has a bit slow lately. Regardless, I will always come back.
No acknowledgment of our anniversary other than a snarky happy anniversary from the host when I was requesting an outside table.
We had the roasted chicken dish with feta and herbs and it was delicious, Rack of Lamb also perfectly cooked, and the vanilla bread pudding for dessert was incredible!
Always amazing food, service, drinks and setting!
Delicious meal, good wine and beautiful on the Metlox patio
We love the food here. The salads are sooo delicious and fresh. Two favs are the cesar salad and the green salad with shrimp. Service is always good and love eating outdoors
Loved our dinner and service!
I recommend 2 hostesses for the weekends or busy times. There was one hostess and she could not handle the volume of people who arrived arrived around noon. One client was complaining that she had made a reservation and yet someone who arrived before her was getting seated first. While this situation was ridiculous, 2 hostesses at noon on a Sunday during the Summer is what you need to handle the lunch crowd. The client started to complain to the rest of the clients waiting and it was very uncomfortable. I would be celebrating the fact that your restaurant is so busy but please make the seating process a bit easier.
I haven't been here since last year before the pandemic started so I was anxious to return. Alas, the food was not as good as I remembered it. The chicken on my kebab was over-cooked and therefore dry and the rice was not thoroughly cooked either.
The feta saganaki was OUTSTANDING and I wish I had ordered another one instead of the kebab.
I won't be returning any time soon.
