Petros - Manhattan Beach

Amazing fusion brunch. The gyro eggs Benedict is some of the best I’ve had.
We’ve long considered this one of the most appealing places in the area, memorable for some of its Greek dishes and its romantic vibe. Our latest visit, the first in months, disappointed in both departments. On an early Saturday evening, the place was thronged with families and a startlingly high kid count. We had to retreat to the outdoor patio despite howling winds to get any respite at all. (We had both gotten up to leave immediately after being seated but a sympathetic hostess persuaded us to stay). We should have trusted our instincts. The octopus appetizer was the only dish that met previous standards, but the moussaka was as bland and unremarkable as any we’ve ever encountered. Sadly, not nearly the attraction it once was.
Good food and service. Since it was chilly outside, we ate inside where it was a bit noisy. We've eaten there many times before and really enjoy it.
Pleasant.. but not fancy.. lots of small children on outside patio at 8pm and super casual dress by some so detracted from special feeling for the price point
Valentine’s Day. But always great !
Waiters were busy but amazing. Food is always good but a bit expensive. Our waitress was fantastic!
We love Petros for every occasion. Even though it’s full all the time, it doesn’t feel cramped or loud. Nice atmosphere, good food, smiling waitresses 👌
Great place, always great service. If you want less noise sit outside, they have heaters!
My wife had a wonderful birthday dinner there. The special pan seared fish was so so. The rest of the dinners and dessert were great! The service was spot on as well.
I love Petros and frequent it often. We got placed at a pass through table by the kitchen. We felt like we were sitting in the middle of the room with waiters constantly zooming by. Definitely changed our dining experience. The food and service were good though.
Nice ambiance. Scrumptious food. Attentive service.
The food was delicious. Service was great. All around wonderful dining experience.
I was disappointed and had higher expectations based on the yelp reviews I read. The lamb pizza flatbread I ordered was dry and tasteless and the AVGOLEMONO (chicken soup) I got I was way too salty. My boyfriend got the GYRO GIAOURTI (beef gyro) and the beef was over cooked. The fried calamari was greasy and chewy. The SPANAKOPITA was thick and heavy instead of being light and flaky. The service was attentive and I liked my MYTHOS Greek beer but that was it. Wish I had a more positive culinary experience.
Great food, good service, table was ready on time.
Good food. Good drinks. Good presentation. Food tasted authentic.
We go here a lot for special occasions with the kids and the grandparents. The kids can find things they like to eat on the menu, and they can run around in the courtyard between courses. And the food is very good!
Lovely service. Very good food. Nice ambiance.
Good nice good deserts
Great service! Wonderful ambiance!
The food is always delicious, but just as important is the service. The staff is outstanding! I was with a large group and the staff was so gracious. I always have a great experience at Petros.
Service was very attentive to begin. As the evening went on, they were less attentive.
Food was alright. Service was a bit disappointing. Waiter kept coming over at the most inopportune times. Right when we sat they were hounding us on what to order but hadnt given us menus. They also shoved everything on the table at the same time so plates were half off the table. Probably wouldnt come back.
Amazing restaurant, great food and excellent service
Always a favorite
My family and I love Petro’s! Food is fresh, tasty and consistent. Staff is friendly and professional. The restaurant is clean and comfortable.
We have dined here in the past and enjoyed it far more than we did on this visit. Being a holiday may have had something to do with the average service. We were seated at a wobbly table that was supposed to seat 2, though it would barely be suitable for 1, let alone 2. It was very small & the wait staff was unable to find a place for the breadbasket though we only had a salad, 2 small plates, 2 beers and 2 glasses of water on the table. We asked to be moved & the waitress seemed very aggravated by the request. We were told the manager would be over to help us but this never happened. The waitress came back to tell us there were no other tables & no other options. We finally found 2 seats at the bar & had a rather overcooked meal & not much service since it was New Year's Eve and all were busy. We had planned to stay for after dinner drinks but changed our minds when nobody served us. Disappointed this trip.
Was there for NY Eve a party of 8. Was a fabulous time! Loved breaking the dishes at the end of the night! Great celebration.
I had dined at Petros years ago, and recently recommended it to a friend who is in town and a chef friend who joined us. Unfortunately, I had a completely different experience than I did the first time around. Sadly, I would never recommend this restaurant again. There wasn’t one menu item ordered that wasn’t dried out, over-cooked or severely over salted. I was very embarrassed to have made this recommendation.
Expansive menu for both meat eaters’ seafood lovers and vegetarians; grandkids loved the appetizers and desserts! High quality food and service and accessible parking-
Service was nice but just the food lacked that extra excitement you get from other restaurants. Both the octopus and salmon were dry. And with a $30 corkage fee, added up the bill very quick. Great highlight was some exceptional desserts.
Only been to this restaurant twice. Both times my only complaint is mediocre service. Not sure why except there was a trainee waitress with our waitress. Seemed as though they waited a long time to take our order despite our request to place our order several times.
Food was excellent. Charged a split fee for our salad, which would have been (& is not) a problem except neither waitress told us in advance. I thought it was customary to disclose those extra fees. Either way, enjoyed the food.
Totally overrated. Food was bland.
All four entres were lukewarm. Great presentation, and taste, but not hot. A real ‘downer’.
very underwhelming food experience and don't understand how this related 4.5 or 5 stars in reviews on OpenTable?
It was Manhattan beach fireworks. Took almost 2 hours to get our lamb and it showed up half hooked when fireworks started so we couldn’t eat it had to take it to go
Perfect perfect service, food and ambience! Your hostesses let us dig outside which made it even more perfect! ITV was a perfect segue to watching the Fire works “far enough from the maddening crowd” to allow us to have a special dinner. Thank u!
We were served and forgotten. We may have stayed longer for wine coffee and desert but there was no service.
Noise was atrocious as waiters were continually moving table and chairs and rather than lifting and placing they were dragged a long the floor-like someone with nails scratching a blackboard.
