Petros - Manhattan Beach

We have never been to Petros so we decided to go and celebrate Easter. We were sat and given water right away. My husband and I ordered mumm rose. The cost of the two glasses was almost as much as much as two bottles which is very frustrating. We do not like when restaurants out such a high mark up on alcohol. We ordered a variety of appetizers and dishes. I liked that the soup came out first and than the saganaki and sponakopita followed by the main dishes. We ordered way to much food so we brought home the main dishes. Overall the service started off food but plummeted as it got later. The food was great and we had a perfect table outside on this beautiful day. I would definitely go back.
Overpicred. Food was fine. Definitely not wroth the price tag. Ambiance was ho hum. Weird crowd/vibe.
We made the horrible mistake of thinking this was a Greek restaurant. The watermelon salad was all water, with no taste. The moussaka was horrible. Clearly these were the worst things on the menu to order. My moussaka came out piping hot, as if it had sat in a microwave. My friend's came out cold, as if it had sat on a counter for 30 minutes..... The order was taken incorrectly in the first place. We were not asked how our food was at any time by the waitress. We clearly didn't eat much of it, a clear sign it's not good, and were not offered any alternatives or even apology. We were so close to the birthday party next to us, I feel like we're now on their Christmas card list.... This is the worst restaurant experience I have had in a very long time. I will never go back there.
Petro's is always a good time! The food is great, and the staff all work together seamlessly to make sure everyone is happy with their dining experience.
I sat outside - tables are under an awning but some seats still offer sun. Great menu-great food. The shrimp I added to my salad was average; I was expecting something bigger and tastier. Overall very good.
The rack of lamb which I requested to be medium done turned out to be just two pieces of lamb, one well done and the other rare. It would have taken too much time for the kitchen to redo the cooking. Overall very disappointing experience.
I highly recommend this restaurant. Food and service were excellent!
The recommendations for our entree was lamb and it was THE BEST LAMB WE HAVE EVER HAD!! The octupus was garnished with yellow and red beets and it all was amazing, better than lobster! It was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend Petros, exceptional Greek food!!
Every is bland and under seasoned. Definitely not worth the money.
Delicious original brunch offerings and service is always friendly and attentive.
I always love Petros for clean healthy food and a great vibe!
We had a great meal-in spite of terrible service.
Food is fantastic. My server (Sula) went above and beyond to make sure we had a delicious dinner and drinks. One person in my party left a valuable by accident at the table. I was called and able to come right back and get it. I highly recommend!!
Found by chance amazing Greek food in Manhattan beach. Cool vibe, nice decor. Food was the winner, really good. Happening for a Saturday night!
Food was great, yet again. The lamb pasta was rich and satisfying. My wife really liked the Greek sea bass. A little slow at the front desk, and pretty noisy and crowded for a Tuesday night, but it’s all about the food.
Yet another fabulous meal at Petros. First time for our friends and they absolutely raved about their meal!
Great restaurant. Upscale Greek food, perfect location, professional staff.
Everything about my experience was great. Food was wonderful, I loved the dip plate. Staff was super friendly and attentive, and the restaurant itself was really cozy. Petros will absolutely be a place I visit again and again
Food and service were excellent. The only problem was that the place was crowded and very noisy. But I would go back--maybe not on a Saturday night at 8:30!
We had a lovely banquette seating where it was easy for us to carry on a conversation with out too much background noise.
Our server was the best!
We have found the food at Petros is consistently good from the appetizers to the entrées.
Looking forward to our next visit!
PETRO’S is definitely a keeper! I was so glad our in-laws from out of state loved it! We had sea bass, moussaka, roast chicken, and lamb chops, and the Greek soup (chicken and lemon) and the dip combo were amazing! Everything was delicious and the staff are friendly and efficient.
The food was wonderful and fresh, and the salads we had, a caesar and the watermelon, were nice and big, though expensive, so maybe that's why they were large. It was a good experience, considering how busy and loud it was, mostly because the service was attentive and the food was very good.
We made reservations through OpenTable and they had no record of the reservation when we got there, it was for a special occasion (my wife's birthday) so we had to sit for 30 before we could be seated. Where they seated us was in-between two very noisy tables and we couldn't hear a thing, so they moved us to another table but it was almost as noisy but at least we could hear each other. The meal was good and filling, the desert was OK but very overpriced (kind of like the entree) and really not worth it. The waitress was wonderful but really there was only so much that she could do.
Great meal. Service was excellent. Our waiter knew the menu and wine list well.
It was a decent place and good for a date night, but a bit pricey. I would go down to the Strand House for the same cost and have a view of the ocean.
Really liked our server, Mia. LOTS of families with kids at 6:00 p.m. Pretty chaotic at the front desk. The hostess could have used some help up at the front.
Amazing fusion brunch. The gyro eggs Benedict is some of the best I’ve had.
We’ve long considered this one of the most appealing places in the area, memorable for some of its Greek dishes and its romantic vibe. Our latest visit, the first in months, disappointed in both departments. On an early Saturday evening, the place was thronged with families and a startlingly high kid count. We had to retreat to the outdoor patio despite howling winds to get any respite at all. (We had both gotten up to leave immediately after being seated but a sympathetic hostess persuaded us to stay). We should have trusted our instincts. The octopus appetizer was the only dish that met previous standards, but the moussaka was as bland and unremarkable as any we’ve ever encountered. Sadly, not nearly the attraction it once was.
Good food and service. Since it was chilly outside, we ate inside where it was a bit noisy. We've eaten there many times before and really enjoy it.
As always, we had a wonderful experience at Petros!
Pleasant.. but not fancy.. lots of small children on outside patio at 8pm and super casual dress by some so detracted from special feeling for the price point
Valentine’s Day. But always great !
Waiters were busy but amazing. Food is always good but a bit expensive. Our waitress was fantastic!
We love Petros for every occasion. Even though it’s full all the time, it doesn’t feel cramped or loud. Nice atmosphere, good food, smiling waitresses 👌
Great place, always great service. If you want less noise sit outside, they have heaters!
My wife had a wonderful birthday dinner there. The special pan seared fish was so so. The rest of the dinners and dessert were great! The service was spot on as well.
I love Petros and frequent it often. We got placed at a pass through table by the kitchen. We felt like we were sitting in the middle of the room with waiters constantly zooming by. Definitely changed our dining experience. The food and service were good though.
Nice ambiance. Scrumptious food. Attentive service.
