Petite Abeille serves traditional French specialties in its bright and welcoming eatery, inspired by the rustic cafés found in the French countryside. Savory appetizer options include the mushroom tartine on charred sourdough, the roasted beet salad with goat cheese and the gruyere and parmesan cheese croquettes. Popular entrée items include the bonne maman mac and cheese with Black Forest ham, the North Sea bouillabaisse and the rich Flemish-style beef stew with veggies. Petite Abeille also has a variety of juicy burgers as well as daily specials. For a sweet end to your dining experience, try the decadent Callebaut chocolate mousse.

For satisfying French comfort food in an inviting setting, look no further than Petite Abeille.

We were celebrating some anniversary with my boyfriend at Petite Abeille at E20th street. Everything was absolutely fantastic, the service - amazing and food - great! The gem of the dinner was the chocolate mousse! If you go to this place, get the chocolate mousse!!

Finding a brunch location on a Friday isn't always easy. Petite Abeille is an interesting restaurant and I can safely say the waffles were light as air although somewhat chilly. Unfortunately one of the menu items wasn't available so one member of our party needed to find an alternate choice. The coffee was good. The restaurant was largely empty so we had good service. When caffeinated coffee was poured in my decaf cup, a new cup of decaf was promptly provided. The wait staff members were cordial and prompt.

Went back to Petite Abeille after a business meeting. Brought my staff with me. We all enjoyed the good food, fun atmosphere and good service. As usual, all food ordered was fantastic. Thanks for a great end to a long day!

The Pâte, mussels and chocolate mousse were excellent. They tasted like we were in a cafe in Bruges.

I am thrilled to have Petite Abeille as a short walk from my apartment, where I can meet up with friends or take visitors and know we will have an enjoyable evening with good food and drink.

I came here for lunch on Valentine's Day and was very pleasantly surprised. I was expecting the experience to be good, but it was great. My wife and I ordered two Belgian waffles and they were both very tasty (although a bit messy to share). I enjoyed the décor, the friendly atmosphere, and the outstanding service. It was nice to go at a quieter time (weekday late lunch) so that our server had time to tell us about the restaurant and the Belgian decorations.

I went there for the 1/2 price wine on Tuesday nights. Best deal, bar none! More than that, the noise was perfect for those of us who were out to have a leisure evening where we could talk without shouting.

This is a good neighborhood place. The steak frites was very good, mussels also very good and burger better than average. Lots of kids there at 6:30 so kind of noisy.

A step from coffee shop, a Belgian bistro. Lots of beer, though expensive beer. Burgers and stews very good. Excellent fries. Always busy.

The overall dining experience was great! We had the mussels for entree and the pate for appetizer. They forgot our onion soup, so we asked them to cancel that order--they apologized, but if it were anyone with less of a good mood they would have had an irate customer. The proseco was lovely. The lovely waitress was attentive most times...i would go there again for the mussels.

Quiet with about five tables taken. Omelette with side salad (nice mild dressing) and potato and waffle with strawberries and cream delicious. Would return.

Been to restuarant before, disappointed this time. Steak could have been better quality. Peach Melba dessert was very disappointing - canned peaches, melted ice cream, no almonds as indicated, and served with chocolate syrup.

The dishes were unremarkable to just plain bad. The calamari had a nice light crispy batter but was tasteless and served with tartar sauce. The durade was bland while the mustard seasoning for the salmon was overbearing.
Their key dish, mussels, were tiny and tough. To top that off, the seasoning for Moules Marinières (white wine celery garlic) and Moules Grand-Mère (creamy beer sauce, bacon essence) were identical except for 6 bacon bits?! Nevermind that they should be different, the alcohol wasn't adequately reduced and it just was not tasty.
Lastly, the waffle in the Gaufre Banana Split dessert was hard and dense. I can't decide whether frozen waffles taste better but I know that I won't be returning to this establishment.

Enjoyed scrumptious salad at Petit Abeille, a most pleasant cafe. Tiny (silver dollar size) pancakes were a wonderful completion to a lovely meal. Tables are set outdoors on the sidewalk. Many of the indoor tables share the ambiance of a sunny afternoon. Many Belgian specialities on the menu.

We went with a group of 7 (most friends/family visiting the city and they loved the place). Table was ready on time. Food and ambience were excellent. Service was good. Recommended: cheese croquettes and any mussels. Great beer selection.

The mussels were good, the french fries were good, and on the multiple occasions we've been here, everything's been good. Except the beer. The beer is GREAT. My favorite style of beer is Belgian, and this place has a solid selection of beers along that line.

The good selection of Belgian beers does nothing to offset the horror of their food. The menu selection is poor at best, and is further hampered by terrible execution. This would almost be worthy of 2 stars, just for the beer alone, but the painfully incompetent service made the whole experience into a farce of what should be a dining experience.

I went to Petite Abeille for a treat and had a nice time. The Restuarant had been on the "Cooking Channel" and my interest was in the banana split waffle. the atmosphere is nice, layed back, and kid friendly.

The staff was amazing and my food was great . The restaurant was not as crowded as I had heard it would be but I think it may have been because it wa a weekday afternoon.

We were excited about seeing Carte Blanche, the jazz group, on the strength of the video announcement from La Petite Abeille because of the outstanding female vocalist. We left Connecticut for the occasion and were disappointed that the soloist was replaced by another singer and the back-up singers were fewer and different. The restaurant, however, and the service are fabulous.

I've been to Petite Abeille many times. It is one of my favorite places. Really kids friendly (we usually go as a group with at least 4-5 kids). For the NYE we went for a early dinner, and ended up staying until 1 AM! It was beyond my expectations. Great place, good food and friendly environment!

Food alone doesn't make a great dining experience. The staff, especially the person who handled our table and meal requests made for a wonderful experience. With knowledge of the menu, his suggestions were noted and they turned out perfect for the night. We enjoyed the energy of the crowd and it made it bearable to get through what had been a somber 24 hours. Highly recommend the cheese croquettes and the free range chicken. The mashed potatoes were simply done and yet so flavorful.

there for breakfast last Saturday about 10 AM. Service was poor -- had to ask several times for coffee refills -- french toast was soggy, runny in middle; sittiing outside & took very long time for wait staff to return to check on us for more coffee, re-cook french toast, get check etc. Would definitely not return or recommend

They have an amazing beer selection and the place is decorated with various beer bottles mainly Belgium but others are also available. The best was most are on tap. Server was attentive and took our drink orders right away. The brought out bread quickly and we order. Two of us had mussels (one cooked in cream, shallots and wine) the other cooked in wine and spices, both were excellent. The third person had the chicken stew which had a nice smoky flavor from the bacon. For dessert we had a Belgium waffle with strawberry and Chantilly cream (which was just plain whipped cream) but still really good. Prices were

This location pales in comparison to the one on W Bway. The ambiance is sparse and barren looking, with very little character. Place was pretty much dead on a Sat night and location is not charming at all. Mussels were great though, but other food we had was uninspiring including beef stew.

Excellent food! Was pleasantly surprised for such a small, hidden place. We brought our kids and they loved the food (pretty good for a picky 3 and 6 year old). The mussels were some of the best I've had in a very long time. If you're coming here you need to order three things: beer, mussels and a waffle

Have been here several times and the noise level can be extremely intrusive, making it very difficult to have a conversation. This last time the restaurant was only half full, but a table with a couple of young children (who were seated outside, but which has no doors or barriers to the inside)made this visit particularly unpleasant. The kids were screaming, crying, whining. I don't blame them, rather the parents.(BTW I have children and would not impose them on others.) The management should have had a word with them. The noise level will make me think twice before I return. It's a shame because it's a decent choice in my mom's neighborhood. The food is generally pretty good, room reasonably attractive, but overall not a pleasant experience.
