Perfection as usual. This is my go to spot when I need a nice relaxing night.
Always great especially if you are a regular for more than 10 years. Can get busy on Friday and Saturday nights. Make sure to book a table early. Marc and Patrick always makes us feel welcome.
I love this place. My husband and I had a delicious dinner. I ordered a roasted pork chop which was a special and reasonably priced. it was done perfectly. The dining rooms are French bistro in every way. Service is always spot on. The pear tart at the end was ok. A lovely dinner out.
We’ve been to Le Petite Louis 4 times in the past several years and it’s been consistently haute cuisine at its best. I love the house pate always perfectly fresh. It is pricey however you definitely get what you pay for. The servers are always very professional. This is def a go to place for special occasions and when you just want great French Food.
Wonderful place to have dinner! It never disappoints.
The food was excellent. We will be back for another birthday.
Fantastic food with attentive service and a really deep wine list especially if you like Burgundies. I always wish it was just a touch less noisy, but the noise is at least tolerable rather than the blasting cacophony that's so common these days.
Since I moved I do not get here as often, but recently returned and the food and service were great. Still that good bistro atmosphere (if you want a candle lit romantic dinner try elsewhere). They have a great wine list (no surprise in a Tony Foreman restaurant) that is fairly priced (2X retail in contrast to a growing number of Bmore restaurants) and I could have found something very good, but asked the sommelier and he suggested a perfect bottle in our range from an appellation that I would not have chosen. Made things even nicer.
Consistently great food, attentive service, high quality dining experience!!!
As always, an excellent meal. Escargot, Scallops, Short Ribs(!), nice bottle of Chambertin. I love the ethnic atmosphere and the staff are wonderful. We are sad to lose the PL in Columbia, but the Roland Park location is always worth the drive!
Always completely happy with every aspect of dining at Petit Louis !
Wonderful dining experience.
We had an excellent meal at Petit Louis. The atmosphere takes us back to Paris with service and food is perfect. For starters, we had the aubergine tower and onion soup. Entrees included delicious grilled scallops and a fine salmon salad. For dessert, we shared a rich and smooth pot de creme. Petit Louis is a very favorite restaurant.
Magical, quaint, felt like an Alsatian hideaway. Food was unbelievable and even though it was our first time- the entire staff (host, sommelier, waiter) made us feel special. Already thinking about when our next visit.
Always outstanding. Best Trout anywhere!!!
I have been to this restaurant many times and had fabulous food. Today, my rack of lamb chops were the worst! So much fat, more fat than meat!!!! I have never purchase raw rack of lamb chops at a butcher with so much fat ever! Had to be a very low quality piece of lamb! Never ever get the lamb!!!!!!
Petit Louis is a gem. My husband and I went there for Valentine’s Day dinner and Easter brunch. We had two superb meals and excellent service! Our favorite restaurant—we’ll be back.
always a great experience. first time for brunch and it won't be our last. everything was perfect and delicious.
The hostess wasn't particularly welcoming or hospitable. Aloof might better describe her.
The waitress was pleasant but there was an air of pretentiousness about it, rather than being warm and friendly.
Consistently delicious food and excellent service! Love it!
Dependable and a neighborhood gem. Great skate, scallop, salmon salad and sorbet. Marc and Patrick always make us feel welcome. A treasure.
The staff was very helpful and cooperative . The waiter was prompt , not overbearing and helpful. The food was a good mix of American vegatables with great French cooking.
We have been regulars at Petit Louis over the last 7 years and always enjoyed our evening. The service is impeccable and attentive, the food is very typically French bistro style and executed very well. We usually select the same items off the menu and they have been consistent and excellent: salade verte, French onion soup, the foie gras, eggplant stack for appetizers. For entree we usually go with the duck confit or steak frites, and the coq au vin when available. The roast chicken for 2 is always an excellent choice too and always pre-order as well as ask for it to be cooked to well done.
Cheese cart is lovely too and paired with the Sauternes is a nice way to end the meal. Just found out tonight that any of the “by the glass wines” are also available in half pours which is a great flexible option especially for the dessert wines.
Petit Louis does not disappoint whatever the occasion.
Everything is wonderful here.
Petit Louis is such a consistently good restaurant. I had muscles and fries. Yummy! My husband had the sole almandine. Our server suggested a nice crisp white wine that paired perfectly with our entrees. Very enjoyable evening out.
Our waiter was attentive and quick. The food was excellent as always. Noise was slightly more than we prefer and there were times when we waited for more water to be served, but overall it was an excellent place to celebrate an anniversary
Petit Louis is Reliably wonderful. Great Service and fantastic food.
Delicious food with outstanding service. You feel like you are in France when you eat at Petit Louis.
Always solid, but the service on this visit was exceptional (the food is always delightful). Dropped a napkin and before I could get it back on my lap, the maître d was there with a new napkin. Awesome!
My wife and I tried a weekday lunch that Petit Louis had advertised recently. We have eaten dinner there many times and have never been disappointed with the food or service.
The lunch was a bit disappointing, however. We ordered the prix fixe boeuf bourguinon special, which was prepared with noodles instead of potatoes, few carrots and too little burgundy. The dish was more an American stew than a French dish, both in appearance and flavor. (The best BB we ever had was at Trois Ministieres in Paris, but in the U.S., my standard for a great one is that of L'Avenue of Long Branch, New Jersey.) Nor did we care for the unusual chocolate eclair dessert, which was too sweet.
The ambience has always been reminiscent of a bistro in France and that remained. In fact, there were several diners at nearby tables who spoke French to each other and to the staff. That improved matters, but couldn't compensate for what was lacking.
Food much too salty, especially the green salad
Excellent food and service. Wine prices are stupid and infuriating. The wine selection price jump to the ridiculous at Wolf Foreman restaurants always makes me angry. Decent food should have decent wine prices. Waaaay to pretentious with the wine lineup.
The food was tremendous, the service stellar. I took my mother here for her 80th birthday. Despite making that comment only on line at the time of the reservation, they acknowledged the event and treated her like a queen. I'll definitely be back.
Food and service are always excellent. It does get very noisy when full. Excellent for any occasion.
Awesome evening as always!
Our waiter, Ben, was very polite and attentive without his being intrusive. He is really a very fine waiter. The omelettes we both ordered were very good, and we were pleased and had a nice experience.
My wife and I celebrated the occasion of the anniversary of our 12th year of marriage and
I can safely speak on her behalf when I say that our dining experience was quite satisfying.
We've enjoyed previous dining experiences at Petit Louis Bistro as well.
We'd like to express our appreciation and gratitude for an excellent meal.
Thank you and Best Regards !
Great service, delicious food. We were greeted warmly, shown to our table, and everything went smoothly from there. The water person heard me mention the skate and knew enough to quickly point out that it wasn't available that night (before we could get our minds locked on that.)
I ordered the Prix Fixe lunch which was excellent, my friend had pommes frit, salad and onion soup. We shared my dessert. We sat and talked for a while after we finished eating and were not rushed. (The place was empty after lunch.) Petit Louis never disappoints.
Petit Louis is the most consistent restaurant in Baltimore. High quality service- consistently applied by a variety of servers. A menu that offers authentic french fare, with consistently high quality procurement, design, cooking and plating. Price points are consistently fair- affordable and relative to the size and cost profile of the dish. Bar service and cheese cart service that set the standard for consistent delivery. Year in year out this restaurant delivers on its premise.
