The food, coffee and service were all great, but not having bread was a minus. It is too bad that the restaurant does not bring back the small loaves they used to have, as they were much better than the normal bread.

I have never been disappointed at Petit Louis. Had a drink and appetizers in the bar before dinner. Did the Restaurant Week menu, plus ordered off the cheese tray. Not a cheap dinner, but everything was delicious and prepared perfectly. Got a nice table near the fireplace by the window. Highly recommend.

From the moment we entered to the moment we left it was perfect!! Excellent service from the bar to the table!! The food is perfectly portioned with fantastic flavors all around!! The wine is delicious and the pairings spot on. A beautiful date night!! And the 5-6 cocktail hour and specials at the bar are truly a happy hour!!

My husband and I have dined at Petit Louis many times and always had good, even great, experiences until this past Sunday evening. Had I known it was Winter Restuarant Week, we'd have stayed home as Restaurant Week nearly always means amateurish-to-awful food and service at any venue. However, to our surprise, your Restaurant Week fare looked very appealing, given that it consisted of "regular" menu items, so we decided to give it a try.

Things started right off on a sour note. When we reached our table, our server asked us how we were doing, and we said "very well, thanks." He seemed very put off by our response and huffed "I expected more!" quite loudly. Probably a lame attempt at a joke - actually, beyond lame. Cutesy isn't a good look.

Our appetizers were tasty, although mine (the eggplant) was just barely lukewarm. I didn't say anything to our server since the restaurant was extremely busy and that dish doesn't need to be very hot; it still had lots of flavor, as always. My husband said his entree (veal) was excellent. My salmon arrived stone cold and neither it nor the mashed potatoes and vegetable puree it was perched atop had any flavor whatsoever. The whole thing had probably been sitting on the plate for 15 minutes or more. Our server offered me trout almondine as a replacement, which sounded lovely, except that it arrived too hot and absolutely drenched in butter and salt. Oh, and when he delivered it, our server leaned over my husband's shoulder and said, in a singsong tone of voice, "Fingers crossed! Hope she likes this one!" as if I were a naughty toddler.

We spoke to the manager, who offered me yet another do-over on the entree, but since my husband had been finished with his main course for quite a while, I declined. Our desserts were excellent and the manager brought us after-dinner wine on the house as well as comping my meal, but our experience was ruined by that point. It will be quite some time before we return.

Me and my date got the feeling that we didn't belong there, however we stayed to give the restaurant a chance. We also ate some cheese after our meal and the pricing on the cheeses pieces were charged a higher amount, than the Caucasian couple that sat next to me. We didn't ask question we just decided to part from the table and head home.

We loved everything about our dinner at Petit Louis. We were there for the restaurant week menu, and everything was prepared perfectly and presented flawlessly. The servers were polite and helpful, and the meal was perfectly paced. It was one of the best meals I've had in Baltimore, and we look forward to visiting again to try the rest of the menu.

We took advantage of the happy hour "Amuse Bouche," (hope I'm spelling that right), and that alone will send me back for another HH. FYI it is only from 5-6pm!! After that, we ordered off the Restaurant Week menu, even though is it sooo hard for me to NOT order duck confit - definitely the best item on the menu. I had an amazing potato soup (potato leek perhaps). My friend's lentil salad was delicious, although we did expect many more greens...

Always solid. Menu includes standards plus small selection of specials that add variety and reflect seasonal fare. Blood orange cake was lovely surprise. An easy, well-priced enjoyable meal.

The foods and service were very good, and there was good value as well. The servers kept our coffee cups full without having to crane one's neck and look for them. The bread is not as good as in the past, when the restaurant served small loaves or half-loaves. The current bread is not crisp or like French bread.

It's been several years since I ate at Petit Louis, but my dear friend highly recommended it for the food and the ambiance, and I was not disappointed. Patrick was our waiter who welcomed us to the restaurant and served us both delicious entrees. It is, indeed, a gem that I had forgotten about but will remember for future visits.

Lovely French bistro with excellent food, extensive wine list and impeccable attention to detail. The duck breast -- perfectly medium rare -- steak frites and salmon salad received happy nods from the adults on our last visit . The croque monsieur was a hit with the junior member of the table. Knowledgeable wait staff recommended wines to complement our meal.

We always go there for New Years Eve. So festive and the food is usually yummy. I love that they have a set menu with limited choices. This year the dessert selections were disappointing .

New Years Eve. The menu was set but there were sufficient choices including vegetarian considerations. In spite of being an especially crowded and high energy night the service was superb as always. Festively and tastefully decorated, Petit Louis was the perfect place to start our new year.

We were surprised to find it was prix fine only...no mention with the reservation. The first 3 courses were quite good but the dessert choices poor and none of us liked our choice. It was very noisy with a waiting crowd indoors and a full house and conversation was difficult. We were also rushed as they were trying to accomplish 4 seatings, not a happy experience for an expensive and special evening.

New Year's dinner was a bit disappointing. The fish was not worth the price, the wine tasting was also over priced. We did not enjoy the prefixed menu, prefer the regular menus. Theis was our first New Year's celebration Petit Louis but would not recommend it to others.

Well...once again, an extremely splendid birthday meal (we come for my wife's birthday every year) with amazing preparation of every plate on the table. Had a cocktail this time (of course in addition to the buttery Chardonnay) which was one of the best Harvards I've had. My only recommendation here would be to not use bourboned cherries instead of store bought..except maybe Luxardo. Thank you to everyone at Petit Louis from the Chef to the Sommelier (William again) to everyone else who makes the presentation, food and service like no other in the Baltimore area. If you don't try this restaurant (and I promise I am not related to the owners, or have a financial interest!) then you are missing out on an extraordinary treat.

This is our favorite Parisian bistro outside of Paris. Warm welcoming professional staff. Great wine list, although heavy on the upper end. Welcome back at each opportunity. What makes an exceptional dining experience.

I live near the Columbia LePetit Louis. But, I'll drive to Roland Park for the ambiance. It's a true bistro environment; active, busy and a little boisterous, everything I remember from my time in France. Diners in hoodies or tuxs are both welcomed and made comfortable. Their wine sommelier is always available to pair up a wine with your entrée. A dining pleasure whether with our entire family or just my wife and I.

A rare find: classic French cuisine. Like finding Beethoven in a world of Hamilton. Simple, elegant, friendly. Since they know the value of everything they do, they have no need for the defense of snobbery. A comfortable place where you can relax, knowing everything will be done the right way, for your pleasure. The pure, focused flavors of just a few excellent ingredients transformed by true artistry almost make you weep for the centuries gone by, before Julia Child's name became a joke to millennials.
