Petit Louis Bistro - Roland Park
Consistently excellent! Very accommodating of my friend’s dietary needs.
A nice treat on an otherwise housebound snowy day!
The quality of the meal was so great it overshadowed everything else.
We just came back from a trip to France and this was as good as any meal we had!
This restaurant would benefit from a prix fixe menu. In addition, the seating is nowhere near as elegant and comfortable as the ambiance of the rest of the restaurant.
Excellent food , drinks and service. What more could you want? Great neighborhood restaurant. We go frequently and are never disappointed. Menu always changes slightly, so there are always our favorites and something new to try.
Sad the skate, plat du jour et Bavette were sold out when we arrived at 1900. But had a very nice dinner none the less.
We had to wait a bit for our table to be ready even with a reservation in place. However the bar had very good drinks and we didn't mind the short wait. Food was excellent and so was the service. It might not be an every day spot, but will definitely be in our mi ds for special occasions!
I always enjoy this restaurant. They are so welcoming and everything I have eaten here is wonderful. The other night was good as well as I usually get the duck breast, soup and beet salad. Wonderful as always!
This was a lunch not to be missed. The fixed lunch for $29 is a steal. Different every week and always outstanding
Our waiter was lovely (the same waiter I had the week before) despite only being at PL for three weeks.
I love that PL is a "local" restaurant with excellent food though I was not as overjoyed with my quiche as I had hoped. Still it was good and I ate THE WHOLE THING. Love the salad that accompanied the quiche. I will always recommend PL!
PL excels each and every time. One of the most consistently enjoyable restaurants in the area. A gem.
Amazing as always
Great experience. Food was excellent, staff was friendly and helpful, and the dessert was amazing.
We had a wonderful meal. The service and food were terrific, as always
One of our absolute all time favorite places to eat! If you want authentic french cuisine look no further. As close to eating in France as you can get!!!!
The food is so perfectly seasoned and prepared every time we go here. The service is excellent as well. This is an expensive restaurant but it is so worth it for the occasional special occasion.
Fantastic all around. We frequent Petite Louis as much as possible
Excellent food quality, a true dining experience worth the price point.
This restaurant, in Cindy Wolf fashion, never disappoints with outstanding fare, excellent service and attention to detail.
Everything was perfect from the time we walked in and seated right away to the staff waiting and cooking our meals. The only thing I would addd since it was Valentine’s Day would be flowers and candles at each table; but even that is picking the entire night for something to improve. A++ restaurant!!!
It was wonderful from start to finish! It was a prix fixe Valentine’s menu for $84, and the selections were excellent and everything perfect. Our server was helpful and knowledgeable, the food prepared and presented beautifully, and the wine paired nicely. Even the patrons were top notch...the folks next to us were so sweet and friendly! Can’t wait to come back to this French oasis.
outstanding service and food as always, the cheese course was great as always
Always a pleasure to dine at Petit Louis!
We missed the very friendly and welcoming maintre d. The woman who greeted us was cold and unfriendly.
We had a nice birthday dinner at Petite Louis. The food was generally very good. We had a salad and eggplant napoleon as appetizers, which were both tasty. I had the duck magret and my fiancé had the duck confit. The duck was delicious. My only criticism is that the magret was served with an overwhelming amount of lentils, that were coarse and not particularly flavorful. The desserts were excellent and definitely the highlight of the meal. We all shared a delicious bottle of wine from the extensive wine list.
We went for Sunday brunch the weekend prior to Valentine's Day. This was our first time at this restaurant. The entire experience was memorable, and we will definitely be going again. Parking was sparse at noon. The wine list is very extensive, the portions were what one would expect from an up-scale French restaurant, the service was exceptional. It's an excellent choice for a special occasion.
Our favorite. Hands down one of the loveliest places for lunch, brunch or dinner. Never disappointed. If you’re lucky, Emily will do her best to give you the table for two by the fireplace. Thanks for remembering, Emily.
Everything was good, including the service. I wish they would offer bagueette -style bread with crisp crusts or return to their former small loaves; the current bread is not the greatest.
Disappointing espresso. Bitter taste and served without lemon peel.
As we expected, Petit Luis was perfect in every way, with smooth service and superb food in a charming old building that looks inside like a cafe in France. At lunch time, the noise level is tolerable, whereas it is way too noisy - deafening - for me to enjoy an evening meal there.
We're here a few times a year traveling from NY. Best restaurant! Wonderful authentic french cuisine and decor..
Emily and Tilghman were absolutely wonderful. The food was fabulous, and the wine paired perfectly.
We love Petit Louis. Great food, staff, and decor. On our recent visit, we had a delightful experience until a couple around our age came in with their daughter (age 10?) and the three of them proceeded to talk very rudely about us. We dress unconventionally and I guess our appearance was just too much for them. I'm writing this in the hopes that the parents will read it, although it probably won't change their minds about raising a child who is as horribly rude as they are. Darlings, please go to a chain in the suburbs if you can't handle seeing artists in a restaurant.
Oh well, at least the food and service were fabulous.
Petit Louis is amazing! The manager, Patrick, who is French makes the place has such an authentic and wonderful vibe! The food, wine, atmosphere - everything is awesome!
We were seated promptly and served promptly as well at our request because we had BSO tix. Food is always superior although a bit more variety wouldn't hurt. Nor would some more parking. We shall return!
It was our son’s birthday but we’ve been coming to Petit Louis for birthdays and other special occasions for years!
We always love to go to Petit Louis. The food is great as is the service. It wasn’t too crowded and we had a relaxed dinner
My mother and I celebrated her 93rd birthday at Petit Louis. So I am reviewing this as a “special occasion” guest. But, really, the great thing about Petit Louis is the fact that it walks the line between special and everyday. For many, it is their neighborhood joint. BUT, with above average - and, importantly, always dependably good - food. And wine (always affordable and fab)! Despite our cumbersome wheel chair, the mainstay maitre d’ always goes out of his way to make us feel welcome (I encourage his fellow hosts to take a page from his book...). Depending where you sit, noise level can be high. If this is a concern, go early. A beloved local institution, for good reason. Love you guys!
This is our favorite restaurant! We always go back to it as the food is always absolutely delicious (always!), the service is wonderful (the staff is knowledgeable and attentive) and although the sound level is quite high, it does not distract from the experience.
I'm rarely disappointed with Petit Louis. Our waitress was not stellar but she might get have been having a bad day. The gigot d'agneau was very good. I didn't have an appetizer or dessert this time. Medium rare is red inside; my friend sent hers back for a few more minutes under the broiler.
