We enjoyed the vegetarian burger, barley soup and fish sandwich. Conveniently located in Hyatt Regency where we are attending a conference.

We had reservations for 5pm and no one was at the front desk. Eventually we gave up and called their phone number which ended up ringing to a different part of the hotel. The answering service had to call into the restaurant and find someone to help us. Finally someone came out and helped us with seating. The seats had were tan but there were little balled up fuzzy dirt clods the size of a dime, rolled up on several parts of the booth. Kinda gross. The napkin wasn’t really clean either. The food was boring and it was a disappointing date night. Obviously we won’t go back. Don’t bother. It was empty for a reason.

HB residents looking for a good spot to host out of state guests for dinner. We decided on Pete Mallory's, but knew it would be busy! Our group ended up being larger than expected. The staff was great in accommodating us without any hesitation. Service was awesome. Good food, great band, and an exceptional sunset! Thanks for a great evening.

This is a great place to visit with friends, away from busier places in the area... it is hidden in the back but fills up for late lunch early dinner- plenty of seating and great food and service...

This is a beach-themed 'surf' restaurant that's a lot more polished than just a shack. It's integrated into the mall adjacent to the Hyatt Regency and looks out over a beautifully designed patio area that looks out to the ocean. You could enjoy an elegant meal or just a burger and fries and both would be appropriate here.

Wish it had been daylight, so we could have enjoyed the view, but after dinner we braved the wind and rain to walk across the patio and onto the pedestrian walkway over the Pacific Coast Highway. The set up is really beautiful.

We had fish tacos which were just delicious, a wonderful hamburger -- also perfect, albeit it cost $16 (wanted to add avocado to the burger, but that would have cost an additional $6!) -- and a great (very large) margarita.

There were families dining around us, but it was cheerful not noisy. Very casual dress code -- jeans, flip flops, sweatshirts -- but not at all shack like, as I said. You could come dressier and not feel out of place.

The only problem was that three of our entrées got sent to another table so we had to wait for them to make up more food while two of the people at our table had their food before us. We had a reservation to stay at the hotel so we didn't really want to spend Too much time at the restaurant. We were there a lot longer than we planned on being there because of the mixup. They were very gracious and gave us a free appetizer and a free dessert however it was an inconvenience to have to wait for three more entrées to be made up.

I had the New York strip with bacon jam!! AMAZING!! The view was breath taking. Perfect end to a vacation!!

Great setting and modestly priced. We both ordered the fish tacos and loved them. Cool evening sitting outside as the sun set in July with heaters above. Free valet parking. Would definitely go back!

I have eaten here before and enjoyed the food and terrific location. This time the service and location still terrific, however the food was mediocre to awful! The kitchen took an unusually long time to produce the order, but it was the result that was extremely disappointing! Shrimp tacos were cold, over breaded and completely overpowered by a mayonnaise sauce that drenched the entire dish and completely overpowered anything else. The vegetable pesto flatbread was flavorless with little of the pesto and even less vegetables. The flatbread was cold, spongy and tasteless. Unbelievably, even the tomato salsa provided with the tacos was rancid! The one other dish - French fried green beans was acceptable - but again mostly opbreading. All in all a lot of money to pay for such mediocrity!

I was at this hotel for a 3 day conference. I am well aware that the hotel's restaurants are especially busy during conferences, but WOW! I had reservations for client lunches/meetings on 2 different days. BOTH days it was well over an hour and a half for our lunch to arrive. The first day they were apologetic, the second day they were non-apologetic and in fact, RUDE.

We attend the same conference every year, and next time will go elsewhere.
Clients missed important classes and other meeting due to the lack of service.
I am sure that the restuaurant can get occupancy information from the Hyatt, and staff accordingly, they just dont.

Very disappointed............

Was at the Hyatt for a conference and Pete's was just overwhelmed with all the people from that, waited an hour and 15 minutes for our food and didn't see the server much. The food and atmosphere is always good here, they just need to plan better.

The menu has changed and the restaurant took off my favorite (surfer's stew) item. Some of the changes are nice, some not so great. It's always tough when your favorite items are removed. Glad to see the edamame on the menu still. It's still awesome. The frozen s'mores dessert was amazing.

Needed a place to eat before the New Years Eve Jazz venue - wasn't what we thought - it was more like a beachcomer place. Food wasn't that great so not sure we will eat there again.

Our dinner was great. All of the food was very good. The service was very good. It is pricey, because it's inside the Hyatt resort, but we all enjoyed our food. Note to the restaurant--can't anyone have a kids menu that has more than junk food--at least a grilled chicken option. Not all kids eat man-n-cheese and hamburgers every day.

I do not care for the menu items and it seems limited and overpriced. Tacos were good but for a few cents more should be served with some rice and beans. Wings are good. Water on tap tastes terrible. They need a filtration system.

Pete's Sunset Grille was a wonderful surprise. We had not heard of the restaurant before and took a chance on a guest's review. The food and service far surpassed our expectations. Live performer and casual atmosphere made the evening extremely enjoyable. Would we frequent this restaurant again...without a doubt.

This restaurant is located inside the Hayatt Resort Hotel, but don't let that scare you away. They have complementary valet parking up 4 hours. The restaurant is beach casual with a very interesting menu selection. I had a nice pork skewer which turned out to be just right for a,light meal. The service was attentive and the servers were very friendly.
