Very disappointing experience. First time in 20 years. Restaurants have ups and downs daily. This was a definitely down day.
Service was subpar, especially for a $170 meal for two.
Waitress had too many tables to service the main reason. She wasn’t able to be attentive to all she was assigned. She was proficient, but didn’t interact much at all.
Ambience was zero in the restaurant as a whole. Lifeless, dead.
We were excited to go, but left deflated.
The food, itself, was excellent, the experience left a bad taste in our mouths.

The steak was good but not worth the almost $70 price tag. The appetizer was small and the crab cake was poor. The crab Mac cheese was the blandest Mac and cheese I have ever had and the asparagus was completely unseasoned (not even salt and pepper) and was undercooked. If it weren't for the great wait staff I would have left in a bad mood. 200+ dollars for mediocre food is not okay and I won't be coming back.

Absolutely fantastic! The entire staff treated us like we were royalty, it was such a lifetime experience. Our server was extremely professional and made great wine suggestions. The food was excellent as usual, some new surprises as well, looking forward to our next visit.

Spouse and I went for Valentine’s Day. Wonderful service as always (Thanks Bill T!) Special cocktails and menu available for valentine’s week (yummy). Steak cooked perfectly. The French onion soup highly recommended. For dessert, I asked for the pot du creme (not on menu but have had before on my birthday). Of course they had and it is probably the best thing ever for a chocolate lover. Complementary chocolate dipped strawberries in honor of the day.

This was a disappointing trip to Peterson's unfortunately. I have been to Petersons probably 20 times over the last 10ish years. The service was BAD this time. My wife and I went the day before Valentines day. Service started out fine. Our waiter literally disappeared for long periods of time. Another waiter took pity on us and helped us out, but the wait time between courses and drinks was agonizing. I got one drink and after a while just wanted to leave. The food was amazing as usual. The place was packed, but I expect a level of service when I am paying that much for a meal. Petersons disappointed big time in that regard. Petersons has earned enough brownie points for me that I will definitely be back, but I hope the service is up to snuff next time.

Like one of the great old steak houses but with a casual, comfortable feel. The food and wines were outstanding!

Service was very good. Everyone was very pleasant. There was an uncomfortable wait between salad and entrée. Waitress was very friendly and helpful. No waiting for seating (with reservation). Fillet was excellent. Crab legs were perfect. We'll be back.

We ordered an appetizer calamari which was excellent. Or salads were excellent. I ordered salmon which was cooked perfectly. My husband ordered the special, New York strip, it was very good although on the top side. Other than that., Everything was great.

Peterson's has done an outstanding job of bringing back the glory days of the restaurant. We had a sub-par experience about 2 years ago, but this visit restored our faith in this local gem. The service was superb; the food was absolutely stellar. Bravo!

We ordered off the "Devour Indy" menu, plus an additional appetizer off the regular menu. It was a delicious dinner in a nice setting. It was easy to make quiet conversation, even though the restaurant was busy. The service was very good. My husband ordered the Creme Brulee for dessert, but since they were out of it they allowed him to order any dessert off the regular menu. He chose the bread pudding, which was one of the best I have ever tasted! It is a fairly pricey restaurant, so it wouldn't be our "everyday" restaurant, but it is very nice for a special occasion, or simply a nice "date" night.

It was an overall good experience. We went for Devour Indy. They had a good menu option during this time. The Kentucky mule was good(various ingredients). I haven’t had a lot of lobster bisque, but it was good. Fresh bread, nice cut of steak(filet) with vegetables and mashed potatoes. The cheesecake was delicious! Also, they had a nice wine list.

We always thought we were missing out by not going here so during Devour, we thought we'd give it a shot. We had reservations but weren't seated until 15 minutes after. The ambiance is very bland and nothing special at all. It does not reflect the prices on the regular menu that is for sure. Definitely not romantic in the least. Our server did a nice job, by far the best part of the experience. My husband got the Cesar salad and I got the mini crab cake (mini is very appropriate). These were the highlight dishes of our dinner. We both got the filet entree. They were nice pieces of meat that were not prepared in anyway special. Some kind of brown gravy over it which didn't do anything for it. And the mashed potatoes had huge hunks of mushrooms in them. Who does that? Especially without telling you. We are not mushroom people, and I had a huge one before I saw it. Gross. The green beans and carrots were fine but did not make up for the steak or mashed. The cheese cake and creme brulee were both just ok. I had a vodka soda and my husband had one glass of wine and the bill was $141.00 with tip. At least we know now we aren't missing anything and you can find us back over at Harry & Izzy's.

We enjoyed the evening good ambience. Dinner out with friends. Waitress unprofessional, but friendly. Crab cake was wonderful, fillet was very good, potatoes were cold green bean almost cold hard to eat. Over priced even for the devour menu. Would not go back.

My wife and I were very disappointed in our dinner. Her crab cake was "mushy". The fillets were pink inside as ordered, but the meat was dry instead of juicy. The creme brulee was served cold instead of warm like I am used to. The wine quality did not justify the price. All in all it was a disappointing experience.

We arrived a little earlier than our reservation and were seated right away. Kaitlyn was our server and she was right there as we needed her. The food was prepared perfectly and tasted amazing! I had the scallops and they were cooked to perfection. My only complaint is that I prefer my vegetables cooked a little more. My husband's filet was so tender and flavorful! We tried the Portabello fries and they were great. We have been to Peterson's many times and will definitely be back.

Was an overall pretty great experience. Server was fantastic and listened to our needs. When asked about how the food tasted, we let him know it was really good but I would like to say my salmon was over cooked but still had a nice taste to it. My wife’s steak was really tasty and she enjoyed it. The cheesecake for dessert was a little funny tasting to us both. We felt it had an overpowering eggy taste and our server gladly offered us an alternative. We picked the crème brûlée and was a great choice. Ambiance was nice but the booth/benches were really low sitting/sinking in and made it a little uncomfortable with eating. Other than those minor things, we enjoyed a nice date night out and looking forward to returning sometime soon.

My husband and I enjoy celebrating my birthday at Peterson because the chef always make me a special vegetarian dinner that makes me feel special. I have a collection of the special vegetarian dinners that the chef at Peterson created for me through the years. The attentive services from the restaurant staff also made our celebration of my birthday a very successful one. We love our birthday photo with a card signed by the staff. We will be back to Peterson to celebrating our other special occasions. Thank you Team Peterson!

We took advantage of Devour Indy to try Peterson's for the first time. We were not disappointed. We enjoyed the classic atmosphere of the restaurant--comfortable temperature, arrangement of rooms, and overall ambience. The food was excellent, and the service was top-notch. Every person we came into contact with added to the delight of the visit. We both chose lobster bisque to begin with. We liked it but felt we had had better lobster bisque before. However, everything else we ate (the bread, filet, potatoes, vegetables, and crème brulee was as good as we had ever tasted. We will probably dine at Peterson's again, but it will be for a special occasion because the menu prices for steaks and the a la carte items would total about $100 for each of us. We won't be picking up the check for extra guests!
