This is a great place for a date, special occasion, or just a nice treat for yourself. The steaks are amazing.I tried the scallops for the first time I was not pleased with the Rizzuto however the scallops were awesome. Next time I’m going for the steak

Our experience at Peterson’s was AMAZING! My boyfriend and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary and they made us feel so special! The service was wonderful and our waiter, Kevin, was so kind and eager to help. Everyone said congratulations and they even took a picture of us and signed a card! Oh and the food was delicious. I would highly recommend!

Fantastic! The service and food are perfect, the atmosphere is relaxed , and never will there b e rambunctious kids running around or screaming, just serenity.
The food is great as expected and served just right at the right time. A good place to dine in comfort at a slow easy pace.

We do not get to Indy often, but when we do we always make a point of stopping at Peterson's for dinner. The food quality and service are exceptional! Very good wine list that will please a broad range of appetites at a reasonable price.

Everyone was very nice; they seemed to go out of their way to make our occasion special. Sevice was very good and our appetizer & meal came quite fast for a Friday night and a full parking lot. We had a very quiet corner near the hostess station; not sure how the noise level was out in the main dining area.

We went just for a dinner to get out of the house and away from the kids for a night. Had not been in a while. All of the food was great and the service/waiter was refreshing as he was personable, funny, professional, and knowledgeable all rolled into one.

I would recommend to anyone with the budget to spend 200-300 bucks on a dinner for 2. You could get out for less but the waiter was good enough I wanted to recognize his efforts and tipped a bit heavy and over 20% as I feel the service industry as a whole is lacking these days but am willing to pay when I get it. We had bacon wrapped shrimp and tuna as appetizers and both were great. I had French onion soup and it was average to be honest. Too much bread made t a bit sour so added salt and it was good. The steaks we had (filets) were outstanding. We tried thei menu drinks but they had a lot of bourbon based options we did not care for so we went back to more standard drinks with no issue.

With the great good and service I would say the cost is a bit high and the atmosphere is a little stuffy compared to places like Cooper’s hawk or even Ruth’s but it is a nice change up and worth trying if you have the budget some time.

Food was great.
Noise level was unacceptable. I went there with my wife for our anniversary and
could not hear what my wife was saying. The place was barley half full and it was overly noisy.

My husband and I went here for our anniversary. They gave us a private, romantic table and took a picture for us. The service was great. The food was delicious, but expensive. Some of the food was excellent and I would order it again. We will likely go back, but only for a special occasion. We can’t spend that much on a regular basis!

It is a little expensive but the lobster fingers are the best as an appetizer. I would not recommend the brussel sprouts it was not good at all. For someone who makes them all the time I would not recommend them. The potatoes were very good. The steaks are perfect and a top choice for sure, they are prepared to the temp you order. This was the case both times I had them. I would not recommend the crab cakes. It was more like a warm crab salad (like chicken salad), I think of crab cakes as fried. The salad had no flavor and would not recommend it. Our server was fantastic, very knowledgeable on the menu and gave some great suggestions on what to try.

Went for our 5 year anniversary. Food was spectacular, waiter was fantastic, and we were given a free dessert for the occasion. Of the fine dining in Indianapolis, this is the best one i've been to. Less than $50 (for my plate) I got a lb of prime rib, cooked perfectly, and a side. Worth every penny and we had a fun date.

 (San Francisco)·Dined on October 14, 2017

Went for my 10th wedding anniversary and parents 50th anniversary. Cocktails were very good! Ordered steak egg rolls which were very tender and delicious, lobster bisque was flavorful, but would have been better with more lobster chunks. My filet was very dry. Parents loved the crab cakes. They were kind enough to take a picture of the four of us and gave us two deserts on the house. Nice place for a special occasion, but I've had much better food at other similar restaurants, Hyde park or Ruth's Chris.

We had a party of four book reservations to celebrate a birthday. Food was absolutely wonderful. I personally had the best sword fish I've ever had. We had a great waiter...his name was Sergio! Highly recommend. A woman even came to our table and took a picture of us as we were celebrating, and soon brought us back two copies of the photo for free! We will be going back again!

We had made reservations for after a downtown concert. We called when we determined we might be 15 - 20 min late.... we were told to come and they would accommodate, and still be able to get us in. Well..... we arrived at 7:17 pm (7 pm reservations) and were told, well, we won’t be able to get you in until 830! Maybe 8 or 815 pm at the earliest......interesting since i watched a table sit open around 730 ..... for the rest of the evening. So, we decided to stay and were finally seated at 820 pm .... there were a couple large parties, one in particular which was loud to start with, but after they continuously were served large amounts of liquor, became louder and even profane! Multiple F bombs and other language loudly used. Not once were they corrected .... Let’s say the only satisfactory part of the evening was our waitress. She was knowledgeable and personable. The decor is run down, with no real atmosphere. Quite cold feeling. The French onion soup was good. The wedge salad was confusing .... balsamic, nuts, buffalo sauce??? Don’t mess with the classics- it was a poor and overly dressed mess/rendition of a classic steakhoue salad. The cut of meat was good - but the sear was too buttery and salty. Less is more when working with a good cut of meat. The large profane party that was severely disruptive to many people’s dinner stated before stumbling out .. that they requested a private room... perhaps the staff should listen and grant such requests instead of trying to just stuff another $800 table in the main dinning room. I am sure because they didn’t, they lost much more than one table ..... unfortunate and certainly this restaurant is not in the same leage as the top steakhouses in Indy. Pass on this one.

Peterson’s was excellent. The steak was cooked perfectly and was melt in your mouth delicious. The sides we also amazing. We had the au gratin potatoes and brussel sprouts. I love that they source local ingredients (the bacon in the potatoes was from the Smoking Goose). The service was excellent not too over the top, but also attentive. Since it was our anniversary we were seated in a semi private booth and also got a free dessert! The hostesses were also super nice.

Over the years I have heard many favorable things about Peterson's. This was my first opportunity to dine here and it lived up to all expectations. The food was delicious and perfectly prepared. The pricing was very fair for an upscale steakhouse. Our server was attentive, but not overbearing. My friend and I were in no hurry and our server let us take our time, we never once felt hurried or rushed which is amazing for a busy steakhouse on a Saturday evening.

1)Drink (Brandy manhattan didn't seem like there was 2 1/2 ozs of booze in small glass with big ice block which didn't get drink cold. for $1 After serving bread waiter didn't return for long time. Then food arrived. Steak and sides were good but for one entree and 1 appetizer and 1 drink the bill was $110 and with tip $127. That is too high for me. If we got 2 entrees and 2 drinks that is extremely high for something not out of the ordinary.
