Peterson's Ratings and Reviews
Very disappointing experience. First time in 20 years. Restaurants have ups and downs daily. This was a definitely down day.
Service was subpar, especially for a $170 meal for two.
Waitress had too many tables to service the main reason. She wasn’t able to be attentive to all she was assigned. She was proficient, but didn’t interact much at all.
Ambience was zero in the restaurant as a whole. Lifeless, dead.
We were excited to go, but left deflated.
The food, itself, was excellent, the experience left a bad taste in our mouths.
Hostesses and servers were great. Steaks we overcooked and tough. I ordered my steak rare and it came out medium. The server was hoping my plate with a towel because it was too hot to touch. Lobster mac and cheese had some pieces of shell in it. Mashed potatoes we not whipped fully. Drinks were bad. My old fashioned was fizzy.
Overall it was a great experience for a restaurant I normally wouldn't dine at on a regular basis. I received a gift card and this was my first time dining at Petersons. If I had any complaints they would be that we were seated close to the front door and every time a new guest would arrive, we were met with a draft of cold air. I also felt rushed by our server who returned to our table several times while we were viewing the cocktail/wine/dinner menu. I told the server that this was our first time dining at Petersons and I had hoped that would be enough of a clue that we might need some extra time to view the large menus. In no way is this a knock on our server, because I understand she had other tables to attend to and she was just giving us the best service she could. Our food arrived in a timely manner and was prepared to perfection. I would defiantly dine at Peterson's again, however I will request a table further away from the front door.
The steak was good but not worth the almost $70 price tag. The appetizer was small and the crab cake was poor. The crab Mac cheese was the blandest Mac and cheese I have ever had and the asparagus was completely unseasoned (not even salt and pepper) and was undercooked. If it weren't for the great wait staff I would have left in a bad mood. 200+ dollars for mediocre food is not okay and I won't be coming back.
Absolutely fantastic! The entire staff treated us like we were royalty, it was such a lifetime experience. Our server was extremely professional and made great wine suggestions. The food was excellent as usual, some new surprises as well, looking forward to our next visit.
Spouse and I went for Valentine’s Day. Wonderful service as always (Thanks Bill T!) Special cocktails and menu available for valentine’s week (yummy). Steak cooked perfectly. The French onion soup highly recommended. For dessert, I asked for the pot du creme (not on menu but have had before on my birthday). Of course they had and it is probably the best thing ever for a chocolate lover. Complementary chocolate dipped strawberries in honor of the day.
This was a disappointing trip to Peterson's unfortunately. I have been to Petersons probably 20 times over the last 10ish years. The service was BAD this time. My wife and I went the day before Valentines day. Service started out fine. Our waiter literally disappeared for long periods of time. Another waiter took pity on us and helped us out, but the wait time between courses and drinks was agonizing. I got one drink and after a while just wanted to leave. The food was amazing as usual. The place was packed, but I expect a level of service when I am paying that much for a meal. Petersons disappointed big time in that regard. Petersons has earned enough brownie points for me that I will definitely be back, but I hope the service is up to snuff next time.
We ordered off the "Devour Indy" menu, plus an additional appetizer off the regular menu. It was a delicious dinner in a nice setting. It was easy to make quiet conversation, even though the restaurant was busy. The service was very good. My husband ordered the Creme Brulee for dessert, but since they were out of it they allowed him to order any dessert off the regular menu. He chose the bread pudding, which was one of the best I have ever tasted! It is a fairly pricey restaurant, so it wouldn't be our "everyday" restaurant, but it is very nice for a special occasion, or simply a nice "date" night.
It was an overall good experience. We went for Devour Indy. They had a good menu option during this time. The Kentucky mule was good(various ingredients). I haven’t had a lot of lobster bisque, but it was good. Fresh bread, nice cut of steak(filet) with vegetables and mashed potatoes. The cheesecake was delicious! Also, they had a nice wine list.
We always thought we were missing out by not going here so during Devour, we thought we'd give it a shot. We had reservations but weren't seated until 15 minutes after. The ambiance is very bland and nothing special at all. It does not reflect the prices on the regular menu that is for sure. Definitely not romantic in the least. Our server did a nice job, by far the best part of the experience. My husband got the Cesar salad and I got the mini crab cake (mini is very appropriate). These were the highlight dishes of our dinner. We both got the filet entree. They were nice pieces of meat that were not prepared in anyway special. Some kind of brown gravy over it which didn't do anything for it. And the mashed potatoes had huge hunks of mushrooms in them. Who does that? Especially without telling you. We are not mushroom people, and I had a huge one before I saw it. Gross. The green beans and carrots were fine but did not make up for the steak or mashed. The cheese cake and creme brulee were both just ok. I had a vodka soda and my husband had one glass of wine and the bill was $141.00 with tip. At least we know now we aren't missing anything and you can find us back over at Harry & Izzy's.
We enjoyed the evening good ambience. Dinner out with friends. Waitress unprofessional, but friendly. Crab cake was wonderful, fillet was very good, potatoes were cold green bean almost cold hard to eat. Over priced even for the devour menu. Would not go back.
My wife and I were very disappointed in our dinner. Her crab cake was "mushy". The fillets were pink inside as ordered, but the meat was dry instead of juicy. The creme brulee was served cold instead of warm like I am used to. The wine quality did not justify the price. All in all it was a disappointing experience.
We arrived a little earlier than our reservation and were seated right away. Kaitlyn was our server and she was right there as we needed her. The food was prepared perfectly and tasted amazing! I had the scallops and they were cooked to perfection. My only complaint is that I prefer my vegetables cooked a little more. My husband's filet was so tender and flavorful! We tried the Portabello fries and they were great. We have been to Peterson's many times and will definitely be back.
