The Peter Shields Inn & Restaurant features a seasonally driven menu bursting with creativity. A favorite of Cape May locals and visitors alike, PSI offers a la carte dining along with a variety of seasonal tasting menus throughout the year. The magnificent ocean views offer the perfect setting to celebrate a special occasion or simply enjoy a memorable dining experience in beautiful Cape May. During the summer months outdoor dining is available on the front porch overlooking the ocean, and several fireplaces keep the restaurant feeling cozy throughout the winter. Live piano music can be enjoyed at the restaurant all year long. PSI also specializes in hosting elegant ocean front weddings throughout the year, making this the perfect location for special celebrations. The dress code at PSI is Business Casual. PSI is no longer a BYOB as of 1/1/25, we offer a full spirits, wine and beer list. There is a $40 corkage fee for guests that would like to bring in a personal bottle.

This is not the first time we have eaten here. The food and service was on point. We miss the BYOB aspect of the dining experience. But love the fact that the menu is ever changing. One of the reasons we vacation in Cape May is Peter Shields

Absolutely phenomenal! Chris was engaging, informative, and professional. The food was outstanding. This was our second time here, and it was 100% even better than the first. Already planning our next time. Can't wait to come back.

Everyone was delightful, helpful, and super friendly. Shawn stopped by our table several times and was engaging and fun. We totally enjoyed the piano music and the ability to place requests. The food was exquisite including the chamomile tea at the end of our meal. The attention to detail to ensure our visit was a good experience was greatly appreciated Jan and Emma

What a fabulous experience. As you enter this grand historic building you are greeted with piano music filling the room by an actual pianist. The ambiance, the food, the meal selections and the staff were all superb. Great drinks, now that it is no longer a byob. The desserts were great. Dylon and Sean were very attentive. We will be back!!!! Perfect evening with friends!!

We’ve been going to the Peter Shields Inn for many years. We stay at their Inn and always be sure to make dinner reservations, at their restaurant, every time we come to Cape May. Food is always excellent, as is the service and staff.

The service is better than the food. And The food is Excellent. The piano was great. The manager kept dimming the lights as the evening progressed to make for a luxurious atmosphere. The menu is diverse with something for everyone. Drinks were good and plenty. All in all it is the best of CapeMay. And that is saying a lot.

As always the entire experience was fabulous. Best escargot I've had in a long time! Sea bass was fantastic. Servers very attentive but not obtrusive. The newly added bar had outstanding drinks and wine. Highly recommend!
