Loved it! Will definitely be back. Excellence service and top notch food.
Wonderful meal! Excellent service!
They continue to exceed my expectations. Great menu excellent preparation, fantastic service make you feel at home.
Outstanding as always! The food was superb, and our server, Megan, was delightful! Hands down our favorite place to dine in all the world.
Excellent all around!
Our dinner was spectacular! We were there to celebrate my husband’s 70th birthday and everything about our dinner was truly amazing. Our waiter made great suggestions, the wait staff was very attentive, and the hostess remembered to put a birthday candle on my husband’s dessert.
Delicious meal. Presentation was beautiful and expertly prepared.
Outstanding experience. One of the best restaurants on the east coast.
Excellent as always
Our wedding anniversary. Welcomed us. Superior service. Great menu selections. Wonderful piano background music. Totally delightful experience.
It was a wonderful experience. The atmosphere... the food ...the service... we will definitely be back!
The girl that greeted us at 4:55 was rude and cold and we wanted to turn around and leave!!!! Then another girl came and she was much nicer!! Get rid of first girl!! We we go out to eat seven days a week all over the world!!
Excellent! Everything was great. My only issue was that food portions are too small.
We had a special night at PSI. Our waiter, Dan, was professional, experienced and has the perfect personality for his job,
The porch led to a wonderful atmosphere with the evening breeze.
Food was excellent. Corn soup is a must to try. It tasted like liquid corn on the cob,
Chicken dish was very tasty. Scallops on a beg of Kale and lentils were good but salty.
Overall a very good experience.
A beautiful restaurant in a splendid location. A top level wait staff not intrusive at the same time as being attentive in all the important areas. And the food well simply awesome we chose the prix fixe a great value and a outstanding presentation i picked the chicken and it was prepared perfectly , moist with a crispy skin a sign of an top notch chef ( my hats off to you ) . Imho the absolute best restaurant in Cape May.
Second time this week! Best in Cape May!
The four-course tasting was fantastic. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Lots of children when we were there so the noise level was a little high. We enjoyed our dinner and would go back again when we visit Cape May
Everything was wonderful at dinner. Very relaxing and enjoyable with great ambience and service.
Getting expensive. Food to die for their soups should be illegal substances they are so good. Sitting on porch one of nicest views in cape may
Excellent as always. Great ambience.
By far the best restaurant in Cape May. Dining on the porch on a great summer evening is priceless.
Service is impeccable. BYOB is a great add for the shore.
The food here was amazing! It was the best meal I had in a long time. Everything had flavor and cooked perfectly. I had the four course tasting meal and cleaned the plate at every serving. Seatng inside or outside was beautiful.
Three of us ordered from the prefix menu and one from the main menu-everything was fabulous. Our waiter was excellent-sorry I do not remember his name but he was a tall gentleman. He was very courteous, knowledgeable and made our dining experience very special. For appetizers we had tuna tartare and the corn soup. Our entrees from the prefix menu were chicken, pork tenderloin and salmon and then Long Island duck from the main menus. Desserts were fruit and a toffee pudding. We also ordered a bottle of Cape May Pinot Grigio with our meal and cappuccinos and an espresso.
A perfect meal.
Disappointing. Dishes too ambitious and not well composed. Bacon scallops. pancetta with shrimp. Fois gras was outstanding though. Interior needs refresh. no Liquor license
Wonderful service. Excellent food. Quality experience.
Food was ok but a little dated, every dish does not need microgreens. They were even on the dessert?
Service was excellent and ambiance was very nice. This is not boundary pushing food, this is upscale food for people who are not used to eating cutting edge cuisine.
Went on Wednesday for our annual visit to PSI with our family of 5 while on vacation. The food was mostly tasty, but skimpy portions and excessive prices. My sister in law said that her pork tenderloin entree was dry, and we both found our corn soup to be just slightly warm. My husband ordered a half dozen oysters for $28.00! He asked our waiter when he was ordering if the oysters were a good size and was told that they were. Of course, these oysters turned out to be only half the size he was told. My husband inquired about the "champagne ice" that came with it and I guess that is what PSI thinks justifies the sticker shock. (It added nothing to the appetizer, of course) We had 4 desserts and 4 cappuccinos and the bill came just under $400.00. I think for 5 people (especially without liquor) this is a steep price point.
We all agreed that we have seen the restaurants value and portion size decrease over the years. There are many lovely restaurants in the area and unfortunately, we will choose to dine elsewhere.
Had to wait 40 minutes for our table and had no idea it was a BYOB. Didn’t say that on the website. Food was good but very expensive. Atmosphere lovely. Service fair...
Dining at Peter Shields is always wonderful. The staff is pleasant and attentive, the food is well presented and flavorful, it is a true fine dining experience.
Fabulous ambiance and service in a gorgeous place.
Chris was fabulous, as always!
Our meals were perfect.
Thanks for another wonderful evening;)
We have dined at the Peter Shields Inn many times over the last 20 years. We have never, ever had a bad experience of any kind. The food is well prepared and artfully presented, and the service is excellent. Clearly, one of the best in Cape May.
As always (we celebrate our anniversary here every year) the food was amazing. The service is really excellent; all four diners were served simultaneously, because Peter Shields is well staffed. Our very professional waiter, Chris, then reminded us the description of our food, a very classy touch. As soon as each diner was finished, the empty plates were removed, so the table is immediately cleared of dirty dishes. (So many other restaurants don’t do this well.) We look forward to returning, every year, for many years to come, to celebrate our anniversary.
Elegant and delicious! We dined on the porch overlooking the ocean. Our waiter was very nice. The food was outstanding. BYOB too!
We have been going here for years. The food is always great. The place is beautiful. Our waiter was excellent and knowledgeable. We will be back again and we always recommend to our friends.
Excellent service from Megan! Wonderful ambiance! Always look forward to our return trip!
Best place in Cape May — excellent service from Christopher!
Food was excellent but overpriced for the portion size. No liquor license which is not published on the website. Megan , our server, was extraordinary.
we celebrated our 40th anniversary here and stayed here too. the food is always excellent. the dining rooms are lovely as are the staff. Peter was an exceptional waiter. Warm and funny.
Beautiful restaurant, made reservation 3 month’s in advance for outside dining, not available, otherwise it was a excellent experience
