Service was solid. We had a newer waiter and he was pretty good. I am not sure he had tasted all the menu items yet. Had a nice big booth for the three of us. The live music was nice. I did have to send back my steak as I ordered it medium rare plus and it came out rare. Others diners enjoyed their meals. It is pricey. I will say the Bordelaise sauce was the best I ever had. Also had Baked Alaska for dessert. It was very good and a rare find these days.

Great food with an exceptional staff that was very welcoming, hospitable and attentive. Comfortable and not at all stuffy. Some innovative offerings that work--like the seared tuna with seaweed salad. Filet, KC strip, Chilean sea bass and king crab leg dishes were all excellent.
This is a good place for someone to be introduced to brussel sprouts. Blue Point oysters were very good and creamy. The fresh hot bread a big plus.

A smaller selection of white wines, but ample red selections. A good inventory of scotch. We enjoyed sharing a glass of the 25 year Macallan.

Flourless chocolate mousse cake was an absolutely perfect dessert suggestion by Derek, out server.

Have dined here many times it was unfortunate 2 of 4 steaks were not cooked as ordered. One steak went from over cooked to being returned undercooked.
Very disappointing based on prices paid.

I requested a booth and was put in a tiny room by the door— we were moved but the waiter ignored us and once took order took a long time for drinks bread and food-/ was a bday celebration and no complimentary dessert— won’t go back

Very slow service. We thought our waiter forgot about us. Also women’s restroom was a mess. This is not something you would expect to see at an expensive restaurant like this one. I probably won’t return.

We were there for a combined Mother's Day dinner and birthday celebration and we were severely disappointed. When we arrived it appeared that the staff was still recovering from a busy brunch crowd so there was some confusion and delay about seating us. The staff was very nice, but the kitchen was not able to deliver. My wife's meal was cold and her chicken was not prepared as described; my salad tasted like it have been the refrigerator overnight. Pete Miller's used to be a very dependable location for a "special" meal - but not any longer. The prices have remained "special" but the food is "average" at best. Not recommended.

It was Mother's Day Brunch... a once-per-year event with the most glorious display of meats, seafood, breakfast items, breads / croissants / doughnuts / pastries + waffle station and prime rib station & omelette station. There were crab legs galore, salads, fruits & more! All very yummy and tastefully seasoned. Amazing. Can't wait until next year.

Celebrated my daughter’s graduation from Loyola with family and friends. The service was great! Everyone was super friendly and the food was very good. They were out of a few of the bar items but all worked out fine.

One of our favorite places--great music. Entrees are pricey and all a la carte. We had to ask for bar menu. Having said that, food is excellent and ambiance fabulous.

We really enjoyed both the service and the meal. The kids menu is a really great idea and our son loves getting to order his own steak. This is our second visit and everyone was nice and helpful. We really needed a family night and we enjoyed our time there!

Nice restaurant. Food was correctly cooked and well presented and tasted great. Service was decent but the noise level was a bit high. However I'm not convinced the high prices are warranted.

The Food was great. I found this restaurant on yelp and was kinda hesitant because of the star rating it had, but went for it because there seemed to be a few people that came back often. my date and I had the Lobster bisque and the Lamb Lolichops for starters. they were really good! I was especially blown away by the lobster bisque. the portion for the Lamb seemed very small, but it was still very good. For my entrée, I had the babyback ribs paired with the garlic shrimp and broccoli instead of fries. I know, I know, its a steak and seafood restaurant, but when I saw the ribs floating to someone else's table, I knew I wanted to get them. The steak was really good and fall of the bone. The broccoli was nice and crunchy, which I was so pleased with because I was expecting it to be soft. The garlic shrimp was good, but it was such a small portion for the price. My partner had some chicken dish I cant remember the name, with potatoes. It was his birthday, and I'm not entirely sold that he enjoyed it as much as he hopped. We switched plates at one point to try each other's food and he seemed to enjoy the ribs more than his dish. I felt the chicken was a little dry, and the presentation wasn't the best, but it was good. For drinks we both had pear martini's and the first sip was tough. After that initial sip it was a great drink.
We got there at around 6:30 and it seemed as though a Jazz band was setting up. They played nice music, and the atmosphere was nice as well. Maybe we went too early, but I didn't really like that people where there in hoodies and jeans and what not. I wondered what would have happened if we walked in with jeans on. The only other issue is that when I made the reservation I requested that my partner be told happy birthday and congratulations. At no point was he told this, and it really bothered me because it didn't seem like asking for much. He was, however, brought a small cup cake with a candle on it by our waiter, who just set it there.

Interesting that OpenTable believes we were seated and ate at Pete Miller's! We arrived about 5 minutes early for our 7:30 reservation. We had parked in the garage and walked ourselves because valet was stacked up 10 cars deep outside. I was feeling nervous, but hey, we had a reservation! We should be fine. Gave our name to one of the four young ladies at the desk, and she said it should be a few minutes. After standing there for a few minutes, it became quite clear there were a lot of unhappy people waiting around. I overheard a young man say to one of the hostesses that he and his date had a 7pm reservation- they'd been waiting for 35 minutes!!! I looked at my husband, pulled out my smartphone and called another restaurant around the corner that we'd always wanted to try anyway. They had one 2 top they could hold for us and it ended up being the best meal we'd had in a long time. So, thank you Pete Miller's for helping us discover a new restaurant! And in the future, there are other places to get a steak where a reservation means you'll be seated in a reasonable amount of time. As to the seating confirmation email that came through at 9:30pm that evening... maybe some poor person who'd been waiting benefited from our reservation. I don't know what to suggest- work on your reservation management?

Made a reservation two weeks prior to visit. Arrived on time . Shuffled aside for 20 minutes while others
arriving after us were being seated. Complained to hostess who talked to asst manager.
Asst manager immediately escorted us to a table and was apologetic for delay and made
sure we were taken care of by wait staff. Evening then went well. Service, drinks,music and
food were all very good. Will return on our next visit to Northwestern University.

The food was excellent from the appetizer to the steak. The waiter was attentive and friendly. Unfortunately. one of the reasons we go to Pete Miller's is to hear the live jazz. I asked for seats near the music and was refused. We were given a table next to a large table of people who were having a great time and made it impossible to listen to the music. When we arrived and when we left, there were many tables near the music. It is incomprehensible to me why you would hire a musician and then refuse to allow a customer who came to hear her sit where she could be heard. I don't know if it was an incompetent employee or a corporate policy, but I was considerably annoyed.

The food was very good! Service was excellent and very helpful and friendly. We ordered two hot fudge sundaes but they were very skimpy with the hot fudge. Only a dribble. I’d order extra on the side next time.

Good food and music, and I appreciated the waiter's recommendation on choices for the crusted filet. However, don't count on an Open Table note to get the message across that it's a special occasion. And I didn't appreciate the shilling (new happy hour menu, rewards program) in the middle of the meal. If you really must do that, save it for the end.

Food was incredibly good! Live music was awesome. However, despite being a repeat customer, I always feel that the prices are much too expensive. The place was empty on Friday night of a holiday weekend, and cost is likely the issue.

We were spending the night in Evanston and looking for a place to relax while enjoying some great food and drink. We found that and more at Pete Miller's. Live jazz was a plus, apparently they have that nightly. And while we were seated very close to their intimate stage, the music was never too loud for us to enjoy conversation. Everything about the experience there was top notch, from the service to the food to the music.

The jazz band for the evening was excellent. My friend and I enjoyed our dinner. Her crab cake was moist and well flavored. The lobster bisque was perfect. If you have space, get the carrot cake. Our server was non-existent for the first 45 minutes of the meal and I had to ask others to locate him to have water glasses refilled and wine. He did redeem himself at the end and was personable.

The food was overpriced. Dissatsfaction is the result of poor preparation. The prawns were so dry I could not pull the meat from the shell. The lime tart crust could not be cut with the side of a fork. Will not return.

Service was very attentive and food was terrific: enjoyed the calamari appetizer, lamb chops, filets, and an array of veggies: asparagus, broccoli, sautéed spinach and mushrooms. We asked to be seated away from the music to enable conversation which was perfect. Great music yet we could talk over it. The only little thing was that the nook we were in was a little cold for half of our party, but it didn't mare the good time we had. We'll be back.
