Peso's Ratings and Reviews
Make sure that you tell the host/hostess when you arrive that you made a reservation with Open Table. I did not and received an e-mail the next day saying my reservation had been cancelled. The person who seated me seemed indifferent to the fact that I had a reservation. I should have specified Open Table. The food is delicious and the service occasionally haphazard. Don't go when a football game is on television. Noise is deafening! Great for lunch.
I’ll keep this short. My wife ordered meatballs and I ordered a burrito. Both came to the table barely warm. We asked to get it reheated, and it was brought back to us just as barely warm as before. Add to that the fact that the food tasted microwaved and you got a loosing combination. Very disappointed.
We waited at the door for 10 minutes before we were greeted. We were handed our menus and to take that table “over there.” The waitress may have had a bad night but the place wasn’t overwhelming busy. My wife was given the wrong drink; then at the end of the meal the waitress asked if my wife was she was finished to which she replied no- the she then grabbed my wife’s plate and walked away before we could say anything. As the for the food, it was ok if you like Americanized mexican. Ive never been asked how I like my carne asada cooked nor have I have ever had it topped with butter?? Aparently they have never had real mexican before.
Although the service was good & the staff friendly, my enchiladas were barely warm & my dining companion said the ceviche was the worst she had ever had. If you like to view sports at a bar, this is the place. There are several big screen TVs in the bar & restaurant area. Will not return.
I took my boyfriend to Peso's for his birthday, both because he loooves Mexican food and to try someplace new. The food and ambiance: phenomenal. The food and drinks were truly delicious and exceeded expectations. However, our server treated us horribly. She spoke to us like we were idiots and acted like we were wasting her time. It really made- what was supposed to be a special evening- pretty crappy. I might give it another try, in the hopes that it was one girl having a bad night and not how the entire staff treats customers.
We went here for an anniversary date, the atmosphere is much too casual for a romantic dinner date. Food was delicious and our servers were nice, but not too attentive because it was a little busy. At one point we both smelled a strong smell of garbage that lingered for about 5 minutes. Other than that, it looks like a really fun spot for drinks and snacks with friends! I wouldn't go here on a special/romantic occasion.
Friendly helpful staff, delicious margaritas and amazing food. We have a few dietary restrictions and the kitchen was happy to accommodate us. We split the Chicken Avocado Lime soup, Ahi Tartare and Seared Scallops over Creamed Corn. The server warned us that some things might be a bit spicy (which we love) and everything was spiced perfectly. Scallops had a nice sear but were still melt-in-your-mouth tender.
Wasn't sure what to expect based on some online reviews, but we had a GREAT experience! Four of us all agreed that our meals were very good and we will definitely be back. We had a reservation, got seated right away and had servers who checked in on us frequently. Special requests were not an issue. Splitting the bill no problem and we had plenty of time to walk to Seattle Rep for our show. A great new find for us!
Service was horrible! Thank goodness the food was worth its weight. If you want to be waited on I do not recommend eating here. No check back on anything. Check was dropped without asking about dessert or if we desired another drink. Nothing was suggested and the drinks we did have were very salty. I don't remember the drinks being so bad last time I visited. The service has never been anything to dote on but the food is always good. Thank you to the kitchen for their quality.
This was a good Friday night place to have dinner between work and the ballet at McCaw Hall. The carne asada was excellent and I was able to buy a 6 oz cut so that I wouldn't walk away too full. The cost was better than expected and every thing tasted fresh and perfectly spiced. I plan to return again.
Food was really delicious, but the service really needed work. We never got the appetizer we ordered. When the waiter brought our entrees they had the wrong tortillas (we'd asked for flour and received corn), and on two separate occasions he had to re-ask our drink orders after waking away to place them. (He was not writing anything down as we ordered, food or otherwise, and was clearly forgetting when he walked away.)
This place was a nightclub. Went there to grab something to eat after checking into a nearby hotel. Food tasted like it came from a can. Service was terrible and it was more of a university bar than a place to eat. I can't understand the good reviews for this place. Will gladly avoid in the future.
We were in on a very busy Friday night and their service was exceptional. The host really went out of his way to give us a pleasant experience and the wait staff was prompt and attentive. We were so impressed because they were literally slammed with customers...barely standing room while waiting for tables. We always enjoy their food. But it was their service that was the most outstanding thing about our last visit. We really appreciated it and had a really great time! We'll be back for sure.
Not a fan. When did Pesos go downhill? The start of our experience was the hostess complaint about a couple who had just exited and then our server who's chest was literally popping out of her shirt. Normally I'm all for "doing you" but I was there with guests from out of town who were not impressed. When my husband asked what types of whiskeys they had the server responded with "this is a Mexican bar" which then my hubbie promptly ordered the creole dish. Lame. Food was average... when I asked what was in the red sauce on the fish tacos our server replied just a red sauce. So yeah... I would say go around the corner to 10 Mercer or any of the other establishments that are near. This will be my last visit to Pesos.
