Service was amazing. Server was patient as my friend and I tried to decide on the numerous options. Food was amazing. We ordered 4 shareable plates for our dinner and 2 additional desserts. Honestly it was probably too much food for 2 people, but it all looked so good off the menu. Food was flavorful with a little kick... chorizo quesadilla, sinister prawns, tuna poke with black sesame, bulgogi beef bites. Desserts were not overly sweet... strawberry sopapilla and caramel flan. Throwback music made the ambiance super fun. Can't wait to go back.
My friend and I both really loved our entrees. I had the steak tacos and my friend did a mix of rockfish taco and a couple of others and she loved them all. The reason I gave it overall 4 stars is because the margharitas aren't very good at all. They really need to do a better job there.
Visiting from New York ; have been here five times before, and have never been disappointed! Really fine tapas.
This was a really disappointing meal in Seattle. The food could best be described as average Mexican food. The margarita was super sweet and had too much mix in it. The service was horrible. It seemed the staff was depleted and therefore people were having to do jobs they do not know how to do. The restaurant was therefore not very clean and attention to cuztomer’s needs weak at best.
Great food. Strong drinks. Attentive waitstaff despite huge crowds. Make reservations and enjoy!
Very authentic rustic atmosphere. I tried the pineapple jalapeno margarita, it was very nice, not too sweet and just enough heat from the jalapenos. The ahi poke was deliciously seasoned though the tortillas were over cooked and tasted just a bit burnt. I highly recommend the crab and shrimp enchiladas. Everything tasted fresh.
Always enjoy Peso's, unfortunately for this particular visit they had not recorded our reservation
We had a great experience at Peso's. The food was great, we loved the Cilantro Pesto Shrimp, and Shrimp and Onion Tacos. Everything was seasoned and cooked well. The salsa was great as was the service. The margaritas were fantastic.
Our waiter admitted to us it was his first day but you would never know it! He was friendly, knowledgeable, got everything right, was able tomake recommendations and was capable! Peso's found a gem!
Excellent service and food! Best to reserve as it gets extremely busy for dinner. Had the rockfish ceviche for app. That was quite good though it said served with bibb lettuce (better for keeping one's blood sugar down) vice the tostada chips that actually came out with it. Also had an app of fried calamari with Spanish aoli (not enough of the aoli) that was tasty though pieces (rings) were cut too big.
For mains had the rockfish and prawns served over grits. A tad hot, but not overly and was able to still enjoy it. It was a very large portion of fish, quite tasty.
Also had the rockfish tacos which wife highly praises.
Good food & ambience, but music was WAY TOO LOUD, could not have a conversation, very difficult to hear the person next to you.
We have been to Pesos many times, always solid food and margs. This time service was off as they got slammed before a concert at Key Arena. Also the first time the standard Pesos Margarita didn't hit the spot, just slightly rushed, a bit watered down and just not as good as usual. Hopefully related to the busy bar but my 2nd Marg was about the same, a bit weak compared to usual
Our server was not just not with it either, he took our start orders and main order yet delivered them all at the same time. Our drinks sat empty for some until I got up and found him.
We'll go back but just have to say, I have had better experiences at Pesos
Nice place to meet up. Good happy hour and plenty of bar seating. Service was prompt professional and friendly. Give it a try
Consistently great food and very good service this time. Can get noisy at times but always a pleasant time.
We came to Seattle for a few days specifically to enjoy Seattle Restaurant Week and try some new places. OMG was Peso’s a great find. The tapas allowed us to try new food that was AMAZING! The drinks were DELICIOUS and the happy hour atmosphere was FUN! All the servers were very ATTENTIVE and we’ll be back🤩. THANK YOU
The food was good and the service was excellent. The noise level was a little too much—making conversation difficult—turning down the music a little would have helped.
We were ignored and it took forever to place an order. I don't think the hostess let a server know we had been seated. Service was so slow. We ordered all at once. Had to get up for box, chips, check. Other tables seated after us got drinks faster though. Food was bland. Steak tacos needed more flavor. We were in and out and felt nothing special. We just moved to the area so had high hopes for future visits!
Awful service. Our waitress took forever to greet us and then never showed up during the whole rest of the meal. We had to order from someone else, someone else brought our food, had to ask a different person for the check. Not coming back!!
I made reservations here for Seattle Restaurant Week. It turned out that I had a pretty stressful day that day and I was really looking forward to a margarita and enchiladas!
I was surprised when my partner and I were seated and did not receive Restaurant Week menus. We sat there for a bit, decided on drinks, sat for a bit longer, a server finally came to take our drink menu and after ordering margaritas, we asked for the restaurant week menus. She went looking for them at the host stand and couldn't find them so she said she'd go ask her manager if "they were still doing that."
Keep in mind that restaurant week runs from April 2-19 this year and it was April 8 so it hadn't even been a full week yet.
We look over the restaurant week menu, start comparing it to the regular menu to get the full descriptions of some menu items and realize... the special restaurant week menu is more expensive than the regular menu! See my attached photos. 3 courses for $33, or you could get your appetizer for around $7 and your entree for $11. Dessert was not listed on the main menu but you can't tell me they're charging $15 for flan.
We've been sitting there for about 15 mins, no drinks yet, they finally bring a small serving of chips and salsa.
At this point I am pretty annoyed because there were a lot of other restaurant week choices we could have made. My partner is like, well, the food still looks good, let's order a la carte.
A new server shows up at this point and asks if we've been helped. We say no. He asks for our drink order and we say oh, we already put that in. So he takes our food order. A minute later he comes back and says sorry, she never put in your drink orders, what did you order?
So anyway, that's when we asked him to cancel our order and walked out.
Sorry, second server. Totally not your fault.
By the way, this restaurant also currently has an "Okay" rating from the health board.
I won't be returning.
Great food in a pleasant environment; if only the service came close!
The fried Brussels sprouts were delicious (no breading or coating). I had enchiladas with red sauce, squash etc—delicious. Tasty flan for dessert. That margarita was very nice. The service was efficient. The decor is beautiful with unique iron work and stained glass.
Great service, food was good and at a fair price.
It was my second time eating here. I took my sister here for her birthday and she loved the food!
Peso's was great. The blackened ahi tuna Oaxaca style is wonderful. The margaritas are creative but the glass is filled to the top with ice. The longline rockfish tacos were also very good. However, they didn't have a record of our reservation despite the email confirmation I received from Open Table followed by a text requesting confirmation. I confirmed and received a text back that I was confirmed. I will always call the restaurant in the future to ensure they have my reservation. Fortunately a table opened up about 10 minutes after my arrival. The noise level tends to be too loud in the bar area.
Great new place to dine
Fun energetic place with good food.
Make sure that you tell the host/hostess when you arrive that you made a reservation with Open Table. I did not and received an e-mail the next day saying my reservation had been cancelled. The person who seated me seemed indifferent to the fact that I had a reservation. I should have specified Open Table. The food is delicious and the service occasionally haphazard. Don't go when a football game is on television. Noise is deafening! Great for lunch.
I’ll keep this short. My wife ordered meatballs and I ordered a burrito. Both came to the table barely warm. We asked to get it reheated, and it was brought back to us just as barely warm as before. Add to that the fact that the food tasted microwaved and you got a loosing combination. Very disappointed.
Always great food and service in a great setting......
We waited at the door for 10 minutes before we were greeted. We were handed our menus and to take that table “over there.” The waitress may have had a bad night but the place wasn’t overwhelming busy. My wife was given the wrong drink; then at the end of the meal the waitress asked if my wife was she was finished to which she replied no- the she then grabbed my wife’s plate and walked away before we could say anything. As the for the food, it was ok if you like Americanized mexican. Ive never been asked how I like my carne asada cooked nor have I have ever had it topped with butter?? Aparently they have never had real mexican before.
Great spot , we needed up going for brunch and dinner the next day !
our reservation was wrong. wait staff unattentive. made us feel rushed
Enjoyed our meal here before going to the Seattle Rep for a show two blocks away. Tasty food and good atmosphere.
Service was slow. One of our food items was not as advertised, but they did replace it with our choice. Good food. Great happy hour selection and pricing!
The food was amazing. The bathrooms were scary. The service was okay.
Although the service was good & the staff friendly, my enchiladas were barely warm & my dining companion said the ceviche was the worst she had ever had. If you like to view sports at a bar, this is the place. There are several big screen TVs in the bar & restaurant area. Will not return.
I took my boyfriend to Peso's for his birthday, both because he loooves Mexican food and to try someplace new. The food and ambiance: phenomenal. The food and drinks were truly delicious and exceeded expectations. However, our server treated us horribly. She spoke to us like we were idiots and acted like we were wasting her time. It really made- what was supposed to be a special evening- pretty crappy. I might give it another try, in the hopes that it was one girl having a bad night and not how the entire staff treats customers.
We have been here before. It was not crowded on Sept. 1st. and were offered a comfortable and large table for just the two of us. The service was very good. Our dinners were good, but the drink was not up to standard.
