Pescecane Ristorante - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
UNBELIEVABLE! Arrived in Miami after having made reservations through Open Table...checked in to the hotel and decided to take a walk, since we had passed the restaurant driving in and to see if we could walk there for our December 23rd dinner or drive.
It was a short walk, BUT THE SIGN IN THE WINDOW SAID "CLOSED FOR RENOVATIONS"!! We were fortunate enough to have discovered that BEFORE we arrived for dinner, but I am appalled that neither Pescecane nor Open Table advised us of that fact!
CARPACCIO was WONDERFUL and only a few blocks away....thanks to our Concierge!!
We ordered snapper. We got a tough fish that clearly was not snapper. The beet salad was mediocre and we were upset we wasted our money on a poor dining experience. We should have known it would be bad when there was only one table occupied in the restaurant on a friday night!!
Very good atmosphere and service. The quality of the food is ok, not a great carpaccio but the fish in general was fresh. The pasta was messed up with too many ingredients instead...this because they are not real Italians but spanish. For me not worth the money because it's very pricey, but since they are attentive to the customer I suggest it if you have a date and you want to impress your lady!
Great experience. The pollo scarpariello (I think :)) was incredible; could have fed two. I eat tiramisu at every Italian restaurant - possibly the best I've had. Friendly, inviting staff. Will definitely return. One warning, beer and wine only, but great wine list.
It was a revelation to find this restaurant in the Surfside neighborhood. The area is very unpretentious despite the neighboring glamour of Bal Harbour.
Pescecane fits in completely with the vibe of Surfside (and is totally antithetical to Bal Harbour).
The food is very good. The service is good. There isn't a lot of atmosphere (on Friday night at 8) but this can be a positive thing since you can simply relax and enjoy the meal. The menu is straightforward (not especially imaginative) but the dishes arrive as expected. The food tasted fresh and good.
No significant complaints. I would eschew glitzier places to return here and I recommend it to others.
We had our 2 grand children with us for dinner and the chef came right out and introduced himself and asked if we would like pasta with sauce to get them started while we waited for our dinner. Then the server came and invited the grandchildren back to watch the chef cook in the kitchen. Everything is prepared fresh when you order it. Really nice experience and the Osso Bucco was the best we have had since Milan. Would definitely return.
My guest and I went to dinner at Pescecane's. We had a lovely evening. We had a wonderful server from Milano who took great care of us thought our meal. They have a nice wine list with both Italian and non-Italian wines that are not cheap, but reasonable by Miami Beach standards. An amuse bouche was provided with a tomato bruschetta and an eggplant bruschetta topped with shavings of a hard Italian cheese. My guest ordered the seafood with octopus ink pasta dish and loved it. I had the parmesan crusted rack of lamb (8 ribs) with a side of pasta and marinara. I asked for the lamb to be rare to help make sure I got it medium rare, and was happy I did. The bread provided was nicely crusty and warm. We had extra glasses of wine for our dessert and our server provided more of the wonderful hard Italian cheese for us to enjoy. Would go back for sure.
Delicious every single time, beginning to end. We ordered the rigatoni Salsiccia, spaghetti bolognese and requested a small side order of fettucine Alfredo as its my husbands favorite, everything came out fresh and delicious. We had to take some tiramisu to go and it did not disappoint. I would suggest Pescecane again and again.
This was my first time at Pescecane Ristorante. We were greeted right away and seated within a few minutes. Our servers were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The food was delicious. We all ordered dessert - the fresh berries with the special sauce (can't remember the name of the sauce) was excellent, but quite expensive!! My friend was not crazy about the Cheesecake, but the Tiramisu was wonderful!! Overall, this was a great experience!!
This place blew us away in terms of how great the food was. It far exceeds the quality of anything in or near Bal Harbor and is on par with the best restaurants in the SF Bay Area--where we come from. The sea bass was amazing and the veal dish (forget the name but was breaded and had arugula and tomatoes on it.) service was simply outstanding, ambience great. Definitely the best meal I have ever had in the Miami area and one of the best meals in years.
Food was mediocre. Appetizers were good, but the main courses were overcooked: lamb chops and duck. The good thing was a large round table in a quiet corner for our party of nine. But the food is not worth the expense. Service was good, but the wait for the food was exceptionally long.
Pescecane from first time I've gone and every time I've gone is incredibly outstanding all around. Great delicious meals with impeccable above & beyond service and at pretty good prices compared to many others. Will continue to dine there . . . keep up the great work! Really stands apart from 'the others'.
This was our second visit here for dinner. Both were enjoyable. What sets this restaurant apart from others is the noise level - very quiet and a refreshing change - you can enjoy conversation with your dinner mates without being drowned out by obnoxious music and loud patrons.
