Pescatores Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Went for Mother's Day service was great everybody's dinner was excellent but mine veal was a little tough and mine was served Luke warm at best everybody else's had steam coming off of them I love this place so I will go back chalked it up to one bad meal out of the 5 times I have been there .
The reviews I read were all positive but that was not our experience! The tomatoes and the mozzarella on the Caprese Salad were very bland. The veal in the Saltimbocca was very thin and overcooked and the sauce was simply a brown gravy. Not at all what I was expecting and not as good as I've had elsewhere. The tiramisu was ok but not soaked in espresso like it should so again the taste was bland. The service was very attentive however so that was a positive. Perhaps I just ordered the wrong thing but I doubt I'll return to try anything else.
The stuffed portabella mushrooms had a nice blend of roasted red peppers, crabmeat and cheese. For an entree, we had a the crab encrusted tilapia and lobster fra diavolo. Both were delicious and the portions were nice sized. This was our first time dining here, but I am sure we will go back when the weather is nice to take advantage of the outside dining area.
All 4 meals were very good, and our waiter was attentive and friendly. I was surprised that both red wines by the glass were pretty good, meaning a full representation of what they are and not tasting like the bottle was opened 5 days ago - like you get at some restaurants. The only real issue is that the place is old, and the decor is so outdated that I'm not really sure I want to go back.
I'm a pretty laid back diner. I don't ask for much. However, this restaurant leaves much to be desired. The food is mediocre, the service was horrible and the bar tenders are rude and dismissive. There are many other options in the area. Spend your money elsewhere.
We had a reservation for 6:30, however we were not seated until 7:20! When we were seated, it was an unpleasant table in the middle of restaurant with waiters running by in all directions constantly and next to the kitchen. No manager stopped by or effort was made by our waiter or hostess to make our dinner more pleasant.
We were pretty frustrated, however the food was excellent and the service staff seems to be working very hard so may be worth a second try.
Unfortunately for an Italian restaurant the pasta was overdone and the sauce was too thin on my lemon and caper veal. The portion was about 90% pasta as well so that was disappointing. Our appetizer was good but very small.
Our service was somewhat lacking although they sat us earlier than our reservation, we were only checked on once during the meal and not before ordering.
I would probably not go back, and may visit an Olive Garden before coming here again.
Service was OK, but not great due to the waitress being swamped. Ordered the shrimp pescatore appetizer. Shrimp and bacon were seriously overcooked. They were also very overpriced at $14 for four bacon wrapped shrimp. Adding to the disappointment, the waitress thought/assumed we wanted two appetizers. The appetizers came on two plates and we thought they kindly split one order on two plates until we got the bill. I love the Linguine Alla Pescatore with the Fra Diavolo marinara sauce. My wife enjoyed her stuffed flounder. So the entrees were great, but the experience was diminished by the appetizer debacle and tight seating at a small table. They did remove one appetizer order from the bill.
Dined on a Saturday night. Pros: Food was fantastic and huge portions. Cons: As others have noted, the bread was below average (looked like a sliced loaf), and for the prices salad should be included. Very surprised they don't serve homemade baked bread, but not a deal killer. Restaurant was busy but even so service was slow and inattentive. Never got a refill on waters, again not a deal killer but for the prices service should be better.
We've been to Pescatore's several times now. Each time we have ordered something new and have been pleasantly surprised by the consistent quality. The service is impeccable without being imposing. We know we will get a great meal at a fair price with great service every time we go.
It annoys me when a restaurant does not include a salad with your meal. Pescatores should at least include a small house salad esp. for the prices they charge. You can get a salad but you have to pay separately for it. I would return more often if they would include the salad. Also, the bread they serve with dinner is not very good. They should serve sliced italian bread or rolls . Im not sure what kind of bread they do serve but it is not very good.
I don't know why this place does not do a better business. They are courteous, it's is clean, portion are more then adequate, food is fresh and tasty but they are never really busy. The noise level is low. Thank God. Some places are uncomfortable because of rude loud people. This place is just the opposite.
