At the end of a satisfying snack of tomato soup & an order of meatballs, I was pleasantly surprised that my server, unsolicited, brought me a Hot lemon & honey beverage in a to go cup after she observed my sinus were acting up. Clearly an empathetic employee and helped make my night better as the rain began just prior leaving this excellent restaurant. Thank you!
We enjoyed our dinner at Pescatore, it was in our hotel. The room we sat in was quite dark so it made tough to read the menu. The menu had great variety for both appetizers and entrees. I had the Trout, a whole fish, it was well seasoned and deboned, fabulous. My wife had the Seafood Risotto, she thought it was OK, a little too tomatoey, but plenty of seafood. The wine selection was good and well priced.
Filled with tourists but that's the location, near several Fisherman's Wharf hotels. My mahi mahi on white beans tasted fantastic at the time but i was sick for 1-1/2 days after (and my husband ate everything I did but the mahi). Servers were very warm and attentive.
The pasta that I had and my wife had were excellent. My ceasar salad was OK, but not great. The service was a little hectic given that the staff all seemed to be doing everything at the same time. We had a good time there and we would go there many more times.
The service was not good. We had to waive our waiter down any time we needed anything. I ordered the lobster ravioli, which was sub par. My mother ordered the chicken Parmesan. The sauce was great but the chicken was chewy. Overall, the food was over priced for the quality.
Great cocktails, followed by delicious appetizers (surprisingly tender calamari and savory warm olives), and fresh fish and pasta dishes. It's a bit noisy, as it's right in the middle of touristy Fisherman's Wharf, but most of the travel clamor stays outside.
We enjoyed the food very much and the service was great. Then the sun hit the beveled glass and through sparkling light and rainbows through the door. The atmosphere became energized with light. That is amazing. The modern and the historic are in a very complimentary blend. Wonderful!
Ate there for breakfast - chose because it was attached to hotel. Service was spotty and disjointed (served meals all which came with toast, brought butter and jelly 10 minutes later). Served 4 of 5 guests and brought 5th meal 3-4 minutes later...no explanation. Messed up 2 of 5 orders. Refills had to be requested. Food was nothing special and there was no flexibility to guests regarding the menu, i.e. Could not get french toast made with bread other than cinnamon raisin although white, wheat, rye and sour dough toast were options. Was the French toast frozen and reheated??? This was an average dining experience/restaurant chosen for convenience to hotel, but nothing was spectacular or recommendable.
The restaurant was very loud the server indifferent but the host was excellent and he was also far more attentive than the server. The server seemed overwhelmed and was not coping all that well. zI had the spaghetti Bolognaise which is a staple and the pasta as somewhat al dente but the sauce tasted like a ragu drawn from a bottle and the meat was scarce. I was unimpressed. My husband had the daily special and the serve had no idea what the fish was and even forgot to report back after he had found out. It was a pleasant dinner but hardly worth what we paid and the noise level was really disturbing and unpleasant we could NOT hear one another across the table. However, we have noticed that noise levels in San Franciscan restaurants has increased enormously in general. I want to commend the host once again as he was a keeper and a lovely gentleman.
