Pescatore BYOB Ratings and Reviews
Food was delicious and service was very attentive. Beautiful atmosphere. However, prices were high!!! If you’ve had the same special appetizer for seven years, you should probably add it to the menu... but I guess People might not order it if they knew it cost $26!!!
Food was very good as usual. Our server was new and a bit overzealous in wanting to please. Overall we enjoyed our meal and given that it was Christmas Eve was very pleased that we had a choice of either a "7 fishes" or regular menu. We all chose the regular menu and loved our meal, we'll be back.
Ho hum - another fine meal at Pescatore! Great specials this time around - excellent black bass & baked calimari were delightful. One of our guests tried the pork chop Milanese (which I love and also had) and raved about it - the arugula and cherry tomato "topping" is a huge, delicious salad by itself. Staff and service were up to their usual excellent standard, and once again we went home very, very happy.
Always a pleasure to walk in the door and be greeted by a warm hello. We were very early so it was quiet...more tables taken by the time we left @ 7:30 but never too noisy. Shared Buratta salad...delicious. Crab cakes? Never again...mixed with something other than crab (dry & tasteless) Best cheesecake for dessert so will definitely return!
The food and service were excellent. Our server was attentive and accommodating. All in our party were pleased with the selections. Mussels were plump and tasty. Scallops were terrific as were the other dishes. We plan to come soon again. My request for a specific table was granted, and it meant a lot thru open table. We'll be back.
Delicious meals and portions that were just the right size, rather than overwhelming. Service was impeccable and unobtrusive. The piano music playing on the sound system in this BYOB was lovely. We kept thinking there was a live musician behind a curtain. This added the perfect background, allowing for conversation, rather than overpowering the room.
It's hard to add much to our prior reviews - we love Pescatore and look forward to every meal there. I was really hungry, so I had Nonna's Sunday gravy (a huge and wonderful bowl of pasta with sausage, the world's largest meatball, a huge red hot, and a red meat sauce. My wife had the striped bass, and we ate every molecule. Go there!!
The food is consistently good as is the service. The desserts are superb, especially the chocolate cake, but only order it to be shared. The restaurant needs to buy a new decanter, it apparently was recently broken. It is one of the few byob’s to be open on Sunday.
I have dined at Pescatore twice, with mixed results. Their Caesar salad topped with shrimp and crabmeat is an absolute winner, but I was disappointed by the mixed seafood grill which seemed to lack flavor, except for the scallops. On a more recent visit, I ordered ravioli with scallops, butternut squash, dried cranberries and blended with butter and sage. The combination did not work, resulting in a cloyingly sweet dish, with the cranberries overwhelming the taste of the scallops and ravioli. The broccoli rabe that I ordered as a side dish was inedible as the vegetable was tough and stringy and overwhelmed by red pepper flakes. On the other hand, my dining companions had better luck with the black bass, short ribs and scallops with risotto entrees that they pronounced delicious.
Had our son (college freshman) out for dinner. Waitress was awesome. Food was good not great. Mine had mussels with sand in them, and broken clam shells, and too much pasta with not enough good seafood (too many mussels and small clams). Sons meal flavor was good, just too much sauce. Caesar (shared family style) salad with seafood wasn’t good. Not really good Caesar, and seafood seemed like leftovers/ scraps. I would say it was an ok meal. Deserts were awesome (chocolate cake and cannoli)
Our entire meal was perfect. We were a party of 6, celebrating a birthday.
Our reservation was honored and we were seated promptly. Waitress was excellent. Food is fresh, well prepared, and creative, with an emphasis on seafood and Italian.
BYOB is a big plus. Credit cards accepted. No corkage fee and very nice atmosphere. Easy to park on the street in front. The special appetizer of caesar salad on pita with lump crabmeat was amazing!
Our food was excellent. The appetizers arrived fairly quickly, and we had time to finish them before the entrees were served, meaning proper cadence for the meal. The regular menu is very good, and there was a fairly large list of specials to choose from. As a BYOB, this is a very reasonably priced dinner out, for great food. Its on my list of go-to places.
If my mother had cooked like this, I'd have stayed at home and taken a job nearby! The fall menu's up, although delicious soft shell crabs are still available thanks to the miracles of modern fish farming. We stuck with comfort food on this visit: salad, grilled octopus with fava beans, pasta bolognese, pork chop Milanese. We love the place so much that I'm starting to bore myself writing these "reviews".
