My husband and I ate dinner there for my birthday. I ordered the stuffed clams and special bass entree and both were excellent and very filling. Portions were large and I took some home. My husband ordered the fritto mixto and the swordfish special and liked them both. He also took some of each home. It's BYO, which we like, and there was plenty of parking. Service was attentive and friendly and the atmosphere was pretty. I liked the bread toppings but would have preferred that they warm the bread.

There's not much to add to our previous reviews - this was just another stellar experience. The pork chop (one of my favorites) is now done with a delicious mushroom sauce for the fall menu. I truly love their Milanese version, but this one will keep me happy. Octopus, catch of the day, etc were once again excellent, and the pumpkin cheesecake was fantastic - not too sweet & full of pumpkin taste! Go there & see for yourself.

Pescatore’s could easily be a five. Food is great and so was service. However, when ordering a dish that already includes asparagus. Tell me it includes asparagus. I wanted to exclude the mash potatoes and add another veggie. So, I asked about asparagus and was told there would be an upcharge. That’s ok, however I received a double order of asparagus AND mash potatoes.

I was in Philadelphia with my daughter for a mother-daughter trip and we wanted to find a great neighborhood old-school Philly Italian neighborhood restaurant near our hotel on City Ave. This place was a true gem. Our server, Brian, was amazing and made my daughter (younger, not an adult) feel incredibly special. He also welcomed us warmly as visitors from out of town. The food was incredible--she had pasta, I had seafood (their speciality) and we both shared an amazing house-made chocolate cake for dessert. From start to finish this place did not disappoint--other than the fact that it is not in my neighborhood/city for regular visits! Cannot recommend highly enough!

We had the prix fixed meal and the value was perfect. The linguine Pescatore was delicious, full of seafood with a tasty red sauce. I had enough leftovers for another meal. The tiramasu was the best we ever had! I can't wait to return.

This is a wonderful BYOB in Bala Cynwyd, on Bala Ave. There always seems to be free parking available after the local businesses close. The bread, with a side of pesto and fresh shavings of parmesan cheese, is always a highlight. Even though it is a seafood restaurant, Pescatore, the chicken and pasta dishes are equally delicious. The only reason I gave them less than 5 stars for service was because I was not allowed to order an appetizer while waiting for the rest of my party to arrive. Otherwise, it is a great option if you want a BYOB in Bala.

We come often, especially for the Caesar flatbread. Service can be hit or miss. Our waitress, Savannah, was terrific this evening. The Caesar salad with shrimp and crab, usu fabulous, was overdressed and vinegary and the flat bread not it’s usual Toastiness. Hopefully next time I hope it will be better. My husband liked his caprese salad and lobster franchise.

We had a very nice anniversary meal. (probably better than the marriage has been lately :) ). IT is a very nice cozy restaurant on Bala in Bala Cynwyd. It is a neighborhood gem; to bad they can't get more things going on that street. We opted for the baked calamari with some sauce and cheese. It was a nice healthy option from the fried; and it still had a good flavor...maybe could have used some spicing up.

The Mrs. had a linguine with seafood... very plentiful and very tasty, as I just finished the leftovers before writing this. I opted for the sword fish. Biggest piece I had in my life (fish wise) and cooked perfectly for being 2 inches or more thick, on a bed of spinach and with a fabulous puttanesca sauce.

It was likely because they were not busy or maybe my luck. (it was the chefs special). We brought our own wine, no charges or that for glass service.

The bread was delicious accompanied by a pesto sauce and delicious thin flakes of parmesan.

Of course the homemade 5 layer chocolate cake capped off a much surprising excellent dining experience on the main line.

My Wife & I have been to Pescatore three previous times and have always enjoyed the food and service. We recommended it to our friends (another couple) & went there before a show at the Mann Theater. We all ordered our meals. Our friend Robin & I ordered Bucatini Pescatore. When the food was brought to our table only three orders were brought to us. The waitress made the mistake of giving the chef only one order of Bucatini Pescatore. It took another 15 minutes for the second order to come out. The waitress apologized for the mistake & said that she would talk to the Manager. We even asked the Manager when the second order was coming out & he seemed annoyed by it. The Manager never came to our table to apologize & no reduction was made on our tab for the inconvenience.
I recognize that mistakes are made sometimes. Nevertheless it is up to the Manager to the accommodate the customers for those mistakes. The food was very good as before but we will look for another restaurant when we are in the City Ave. area

Great place for dinner, especially if you're going to the Mann Center for the Performing Arts
This is a very nice Italian BYOB - a Philly style gravy house done right - bread served with pesto and slivers of parmesan cut from a huge round, nice appetizers, fresh pasta - I had fettuccine bolognese and K had Nonna’s Sunday Supper with meatballs, Italian long hots, veal sausage and a lamb ragu! Huge portions, big flavors - we’d come back either for more pasta or the many entrees they also offered.
