My sister and I went to Persimmon for lunch. I had the bouillabaisse, my sister had the crab cake sandwich. Both were very good.

Way too noisy for an intimate dinner at 7 pm. We could hear each other across the table by 8 pm. Food was very good but not exceptional for the price. Service was excellent.

The ambiance is spoiled by the overhead recess LED lights, therefore no cozy atmosphere. Branzinni grilled fish with rice noodles was greasy, lacked taste and did not look appetizing. My friend's Bouillabaisse seemed messy, lacked aroma. Other friend's fish dish was also disappointing she mentioned.
Dessert of profiteroles was way too sugary, cream puffs were old. Warm Apple crips also too sugary, too soggy.
Very disappointing overall. Service was ok. Would not recommend this place at all!

I made a reservation for 8:15 and when we arrived the place was mobbed obviously overbooked big time..the manager suggested we wait but I explained we had tickets to Blues Alley at 10 and couldnt wait lond 15 minutes later we left..i told the manager it was wrong to overbook and he snapped at me arrrogantly Good Night. have been there many times but wont be there for a long time to come.

We got "stuck" with a new/trainee/probation waiter. He did not know the specials, nor the liquor that the bar had on hand. Additionally, he did not have the ability to answer any questions about the food preparation.
Our salads and appetizers all came at once in a big rush. We were sharing apps, so our table was ridiculously crowded with apps, bread plates for the apps, salads, wine and water glasses. Not much room or a sense that we were welcome to linger. We got a sense that he entrees would be arriving any second.
Throughout the evening we gave out birthday cards and presents. The manager (?) came over a few times to gather up all the wrapping paper and empty envelopes. I informed the restaurant through Open table that we were celebrating a birthday. I expected a dessert with a candle to be a part of the meal, but nope. I ordered dessert so that all they needed to do was stick a candle in it - I was not asking for or expecting a free dessert.
After the bill was paid and we were putting on our coats, getting ready to leave, the manager came over and said "I heard it's someone's birthday. Whose birthday is it?" Sorry, but that was too little and much too late.
Knowing that we were there for a special occasion should have alerted the management to NOT stick us with a trainee and to have acknowledged the event way before we were ready to leave.

Persimmon will not on our special occasion list of restaurants to celebrate with our family or friends in the future.

If I were in charge, I would have white tablecloths--at least at night--to lend a different ambience. It is rather hard edge. But I will return, because of the delicious food.

We took advantage for restaurant week in Bethesda and made reservations. They seated us promptly. The server was super nice and new the specials. I had the Mussels Provencal for an appetizer and they were amazing! I will go back just for them! My husband and both had the scallops for dinner with the mushroom risotto, equally as delicious! Dessert was good as well. We had the Chocolate Cream Pie Martini and the Molten Chocolate Cake.
I thought this was super nice. Two elderly couples came in without a reservation, but the host was able to get them seated in just a few minutes. My husband and I are already talking about when we can go back! Thanks for a memorable evening.

We really always enjoy going to Persimmon. And this visit was during Restaurant Week, so that was a bonus. The food is dependably good and the service friendly. We will continue to go.

The Restaurant Week fixed-price menu offered good options. The mushroom ravioli was delicious, but the portion was small given the fact that nothing accompanied the this entree. Dessert was fine. The restaurant should consider offering bread to diners. I would dine there again, because the food was good, but would order more food. Hopefully, dinner portions are slightly larger.

Food was excellent but the people seated to our left - who arrived 30 minutes AFTER we ordered got their entrees (identical to ours) while we sat waiting for ours to arrive. Watched another table who was seated as our salad plates were removed, be served their entrees before ours - their order was also identical to ours.. Manager was neither friendly nor apologetic. My guest's wine was ordered within minutes of our having been seated, was requested to be served with the entree yet arrived halfway through her having finished her entree - which arrived 65 minutes after we ordered... and 30 minutes after we had eaten the first course. I was never asked if I wanted a second cocktail or a glass of wine with my dinner... I would have opted for either one had the waiter been any good...

Manager was very rude and disrespectful to us. We had a open table gift card and she would not accept the gift card because she did not know how to enter the information into the system. She was very rude and due to her I will not be going back to this establishment

Went for Bethesda Restaurant Week. Food was amazing- they offered most of their usual menu for Restaurant week so there was a nice variety and plenty of great options to choose from. Service was a little slow (they were pretty busy because- Restaurant week) but overall everything was great. Would definitely recommend this place.

Always a pleasure!

Walking in and having the staff remember you when you haven’t been there in months, finding out that it’s Restaurant Week including the whole menu, an extraordinary meal...what more could you ask for when going out??? The staff is knowledgeable from wine selections to gluten free preparations. You can’t go wrong when wanting a lovely dining experience!

Ambience not the best which is why we haven't tried, but walk in the very welcoming door and experience exemplary service and totally fantastic food!

One of our favorite restaurants in our Bethesda neighborhood. We have been going there for years. The food and the service are consistently great.
