Bring an appetite for great food & wine!
Let's Gather & Eat!
Great food and service. Ambience was average
Restaurant Week menu was the deal of the decade!! Great dining when it isnt restaurant week, too.
Had not been to Persimmon in years. Decided to have lunch there for restaurant week. What a bargain - entree and dessert for $16.00. My daughter-in-law ordered the tuna nicoise salad. Beautiful seared tuna - medium rare. I had the catch of the day - branzino over a medley of bay scallops, peas, corn and tomatoes. Delicious. The desserts were fine although my molten lava cake was solid, not molten and the creme brulee was a bit bland. But I was so please with the number of choices we had and I can't wait to go back for dinner.
went for Restaurant Week. Very impressed with many choices, including duck confit salad, and salmon with orzo. Attentive service, didn't feel rushed. Tuesday night they have wine specials.
Very busy during Restaurant week for lunch but service and food still excellent and well priced.
It is always a treat to dine at persimmons. The quality of the food is outstanding, the menu is extensive and they have a very good wine list to select from. I’ve heard they’re happy hour is also good but I haven’t tried that yet. I’ve been dining at the restaurant for over 15 years and it has never disappointed
I love EVERYTHING about Persimmon, except for the ambience. The menu is fantastic and the service consistently good. I just always feel like I am dining in their casual sibling ,Wild Tomato, instead of the truly gourmet Persimmon. I am so nostalgic for the old days...when the classy decor of the restaurant matched the food. Please bring some warmth, character and pizzazz back to this wonderful dining establishment!
Wonderful experience. We would definitely go back
The toughest part about dining at Persimmon is figuring out what to eat. Though the menu doesnt change, there are so many wonderful options, it's hard to choose! I love the avocado/tuna tartare appetizer, but also the oysters, salads and so much more. Entrees: favorites are duck and rack of lamb, but ditto many other hard to choose.
Very nice Restaurant Week experience. Extensive menu, delicious items, good service. We were supposed to be 4 people, but due to the weather, I ended up dining alone. Staff was very understanding and accommodating. Great music, too!
My starter was the duck confit salad. Very nice, good balance of flavors, and a dish you don't find every day. My entree of scallops on a bed of mushroom risotto was outstanding. A little touch of extra side vegetables would have been nice, but I realize they need to keep the down down to offer the Restaurant Week price. For dessert I had the molten chocolate cake with ice cream, which was good, a small bit drier than I expected.
I only give 5 stars if everything is perfect, so I didn't rate the food a 5, but it's a very high 4. And considering the overall experience and the price, I did go to 5 stars for value and overall experience. Well done, Persimmon!
Despite snow the service and food preparation were excellent Will definitely return!
My son and I had a wonderful dinner at Persimmon during Bethesda Restaurant week. We appreciated that there were so many options! The cost is a pricey but it was worth it for a special night out.
Had lunch here for Restaurant Week and found the food to be good but was surprised by the extremely casual decor, more appropriate for a pizza/sub joint than a nice restaurant. Definitely not a place to bring a date or a client you want to impress. Half the experience of dining out is the ambiance. It needs to be re-painted a warm color, with tablecloths and noise-reducing carpeting. We mentioned this to the staff and was told another remodel is coming. Management, please consider the audience [and staff] you want to attract in your redesign.
I love persimmon. I work close by and enjoy going as often as I can.
Always great food - duck, crab cakes, fish special...
Terrible lighting - bright, harsh
This was a great experience with great food. I will definitely go back, as well as recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.
Great place for a special occasion or just to hang out over a good meal!
I have been dining for years at Persimmon and what brings me back is consistency in the quality of the food and the outstanding service.
My wife's food was good, but my short rib was overcooked, tough and extremely string. It was mentioned to the waiter who claimed that is the way it is prepared
met friends a week after my wife had lunch at Persimmon and loved it.We hadn't been therein many years but were happy we were back. Will go again.
I go to Persimmon for the seafood. The kitchen uses very good ingredients and prepares them simply. I love tuna tartare, and Persimmon does it better than any of the five or six other restaurants at which I have eaten it. Instead of mushing the tuna and avocado, it cuts each into chunks and molds them into two layers to fully bring out the flavor of each. There is also some flavorful seaweed in the dish. The crabcake sandwich is also very good. The restaurant is flexible as to what is included: I have them hold the pickle and the fries and add more spicy salad. The list of wines by the glass is brief, but well chosen and reasonably priced. Phil, the manager does not hesitate to take an order, bring a dish, or bus the table. He also is a gracious host. I am not a fan of the ambiance and always request a table by the large windows so I can enjoy the street scene. Given my very positive review, you may wonder why no 5 stars. I save those for the truly remarkable restaurants I have enjoyed.
Persimmon is always exceptional.
We go to Persimmon quite regularly and always enjoy it! It's very convenient for us but we would travel for it too. The only problem for us is that we tend to get the same dishes over and over again because we enjoy them so much and therefore don't get to try soe of the other items.
Wonderful, casual restaurant with excellent food & staff! We will definitely be back.
Lovely food, great service. We split some things and they graciously put them on separate plates for us. Will definitely come back.
Regular favorite. Great, personalized service and consistently excellent food. Can be crowded (and noisy) at dinner time, so don't go without a reservation unless you plan to sit at the bar - which gets crowded too.
Lorraina provided excellent service and helped with our drink and dinner selections. There were several things we could have ordered on the menu which we appreciated and great specials! The noise level is the only thing that we find to be a bit distracting. We actually like the ambiance and would have rated it higher except that it's sometimes hard to carry on a conversation as the restaurant gets busier. We arrived at 6 pm and by the time we were leaving the volume really picked up. Overall, we love this place for the food and service.
The food was great, especially the mushroom bisque. Server was very friendly and knowledgeable abt the menu.
We love Persimmon for innovative recipes, ample menu options, and superb preparation.
Definitely recommend for a casual lunch or dinner. Nice to meet with friends. Very good menu. Moderately priced.
Our server Chris was great
One of the best kept secrets in Bethesda. Consistently great food and service at a reasonable price.
The food is consistently outstanding, especially the filet mignon with crispy onions over whipped potatoes and spinach. The pan seared salmon with pesto risotto was amazing!
The kitchen uses very good ingredients, especially the tuna and salmon. The tuna tartare is the star among the appetizers. The wine list is limited, but well chosen and reasonably priced. The service is attentive, but not intrusive. I particularly like the tables by the windows as there is a great deal of natural light while the booths near the bar tend to be dark.
Food and service was very good. Noise level made it hard to converse.
We decided to dine at Persimmon prior to attending the theater. The smoked trout spring rolls were mildly spicy and delicious. We each enjoyed the fish of the day which was Rock fish. We finished our meal with the pumpkin cheesecake which was rich and decadent. Our servers were attentive and accommodating. We look forward to our next visit to this neighborhood gem.
Wonderful place to have lunch in Bethesda. Bouillabaisse is amazing! Had it last month and came back for it. My friend said it was the best lunch she'd had in Bethesda in a while.
Casual but with high-end quality. Sewrvice was exceptional.
I have been at this restaurant twice. The first time it was excellent. The second time I had the duck and the meat was kind of off - it tasted like it was reheated and old.... I could not finish it. This was quite a let down.
Just a great place with amazing food. Priced well. If you want to be with people and that’s whats important this makes for a great location. Not fancy but upscale, even if you just get a burger. Very flexible staff for picky eaters who want to add or delete stuff.
