Been going there for years. The food never disappoints. Love the variety of rice, especially the one with sour cherry! Great drinks too, very unique.
Excellent meal, and very accommodating of our gluten allergies!
Really looking forward to trying Persian food! Pretty with a relaxed atmosphere - and with that be prepared to spend a few more dollars (but not an unreasonable amount.) The eggplant mirza appetizer was just ok. We decided on the entree Persepolis because it had 3 of the meat entrees - Saffron chicken, sirloin barg, and ground beef kubideh. The sirloin and beef were excellent, however disappointed in the saffron chicken because I love saffron and it was a little dry. The basmati rice with sour cherries was delicious and would love to return just for that! Appreciated the nice relaxed atmosphere - will return!
The ambience of this Persian restaurant was refreshingly modern and the food and service were both great. Will definitely keep this one on my list of go to restaurants.
Yummy food and great service.
We had the set lunch. The food was very nice and the service very friendly. We will definitely go back!
As always, the service is impeccable! The food is outstanding and the restaurant is beautiful, warm and friendly. We have been coming to Persepolis for over 20 years. Perfection!
Food was amazing...loved it! The servers and host were lovely to us as well. Will be back!
Have been going to Persepolis since it was small storefront. Food and service continue to be great and ambiance better than ever. Tables not on top of each other so you can talk!
Very tasty! A little expensive.
Looking for a reasonably-priced, different, tasty and fun Valentine's Day dining spot (or any other day, for that matter) on the Upper East Side? Give Persepolis a try. They did a great job of giving the restaurant a nice Valentine's Day ambience, with glitter, balloons and more. The service was excellent. And the food is top quality authentic Persian fare, with enough veggie options to make vegetarians feel at home. Can't recommend it enough.
Enjoyable experience, with a variety of interesting menu choices, different from the standard fare. Service was attentive and helpful, explaining some of the ingredients in various dishes. Food was tasty and portions were quite large. Pricing on most dishes were very reasonable as well.
Incredible food and a very civilized atmosphere. Everyone loved it.
Advertised as Persian, this UES neighbourhood gem did not dissappoint... offerings were flavourful and satisfying enough to not mind recommending to those wanting to venture outside the box.
One suggestion: eggplant looked like dog food. Must be a way to make it look more appetizing. It is called Babo i think
The food here was fantastic. We had a delightful eggplant appetizer which was a big stand-out. We also shared the lemon chicken and sirloin kebabs, both of which were delicious. Service was quick and the waitstaff was attentive. I'm looking forward to trying everything else on the menu.
Amazing $28 lunch special. Food was good as was the service. I would definitely go back.
Always excellent food and great service! Must eat the rose ice cream for dessert!
Food & service are always fantastic
Very nice dinner. Food was excellent and the service was lovely. Very good value. I will definitely return
Perfect for a lovely lunch in a quiet, spacious, light restaurant located on the East Side near Sotheby's and Rockefeller University. A price fixe lunch is offered including delicious stuffed grape leaves and the baklava desert is impossible to resist. My lunch partner and I were deep in discussion and were not rushed away for there is no hiatus between their service of lunch and dinner which in New York is such a unique pleasure!
So happy to have. Hoses this restaurant for dinner ! It was great food and very attentive service!
We returned to Persepolis for another lovely dinner. The room is comfortable and spacious, so that conversation is easy and doesn’t disturb those seated nearby. The food is tasty, fresh and professionally served.
We’ll be back happily.
Best Persian restaurant in Manhattan by far. Authentic dishes from stews to kebabs as well as excellent rice options.
Great neighborhood choice. Friendly wait staff. Great menu, excellent family choices.
The basmati rice stole the show! Amazing.
The food was excellent, something different. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, the staff are very attentive and our dishes were excellent. We had such a great dinner we went back the next evening
New Year’s Eve
Was a pleasant dinner on NYE and the service was great! Food was delicious!
Good food and very nice atmosphere
The service was excellent and I recommend this beautiful local
The food was amazing, truly amazing. The staff was friendly and always willing to help. Keep up the good work!
Persepolis is a nice neighborhood Persian restaurant on the Upper East Side. Four of us enjoyed a very good meal and it was quiet enough to talk to each other - a real plus!
Service was outstanding and the food was wonderful. A pleasure to dine here.
Excellent Persian food in a lovely and quiet setting. Try the grape leaves, beet salad, feta cheese and vegetable plate, samosas. That’s just the appetizers. Entrees are very good, too.
Excellent lamb shanks. Soft meat easily fell off the bone. Couscous was also excellent. That said, there's not much variety in the appetizers, unless you love eggplant. There are tons of eggplant appetizers, including one with eggplant made 3 ways.
We had a cozy round table in the corner which was great. Service was very good
