Persepolis Is a Persian/ Mediterranean restaurant with a dynamic atmosphere and 20 years of experience! The restaurant is famous for verity of kebabs and refreshing salads and gently spiced grilled meats. The yogurt and cucumber blended with a little mint is made exceedingly well and is an ideal cool compliment to Persepolis’ rounds of Pita & Barbari bread. Our kebabs which include moist and delicious salmon or saffron chicken are served without heavy sauces. Instead they are served with a choice of four rices including an intriguing blend of Basmati rice and marinated sour cherries. Our personalized wine list truly compliments our cuisine. We also offer a full classic bar.

Dined here with a group of four adults 8/28/24. We ordered the Baba appetizer, and upon trying it, my friend pulled a piece of GLASS out of her mouth (she believes it was in the beets). We flagged down the waiter who just apologized and said he'd send it back, and then asked the manager to come over. My friend who had the glass in her mouth, who is pregnant and also a doctor, politely informed the manager of the issue and explained what a huge health risk this was, as swallowing glass can perforate someone's esophagus and cause injury or death- let alone the additional risks to her as a pregnant woman. The manager apologized and said he'd ensure the kitchen was aware and would check everything. They sent out a complimentary appetizer, and then the second round of Baba comes out... incredibly, there was ANOTHER piece of glass (in the eggplant part this time) that our party almost bit into! We again spoke to the manager, who seemed eager to calm us as unsettled customers but did not seem to grasp the seriousness of this health and safety issue. The doctors in our group told him he should really inform the other patrons, as it was the ethical thing to do, and he clearly was not going to and only wanted to just apologize to our group. He did not say anything about pausing operation of the kitchen to do a safety check or anything of the sort. We promptly left- but not before informing some other patrons on the way out so that they would hopefully avoid that dish (or any other food there, really). We took a photo of the glass found in our food and are reporting the issue to the NYC Department of Health.

One of my favorite go-to, casual restaurants in the neighborhood. Always good food and service, always a reasonable bill. I particularly love the eggplant spreads and saffron chicken. Not fancy, just a reliable, tasty meal.

An excellent neighborhood restaurant with well prepared food, a fine and attentive staff. Very consistent in all areas and the owner / host and staff make a genuine effort to make you feel appreciated and welcomed.

Everyone in our group enjoyed their food and the service. I was visiting NYC and hadn't been there for over 10 years. It pleasantly surprised me. I will come back here again.
