We ❤️ Perrys
The food was pretty good though the service was slow. Enjoyed the pork dumplings, Chinese broccoli, and dragon roll.
Pretty ok all around. Nothing special, especially not for Valentine's day. But we were able to enjoy our food for slightly more than it may have been worth. Enjoyable food, not really a date night
We went to Perry’s for dinner on Valentine’s Day. They had a special menu for the day, including specialty cocktails. We split the heart roll (I assume that’s only available on vday) and then got a total of 5 sushi rolls as our meal and each one was incredible. Super fresh and delicious all the way around. I already can’t wait to come back!
For some reason with plenty of tables available and a reservation my guest and I were put on a couch with a coffee table to eat at. It was ridiculous and I will never go back here. Waited 20 minutes on the check because the female bartender was too busy flirting with a guy on the bar stool.
Perry's is my favorite restaurant. The food is fantastic and the atmosphere is great. The Element sushi is my favorite dish, but everything I've ever ordered here is great. I really have no negatives.
Very nice experience overall. Nice servers and nice ambience.
Overall I had a great experience, the sushi was fresh and great presentation. The service was good, it could been better. I wish my server would of cleaned my table more and didn’t take so long but other than that it was good.
The sushi and Tapas we had were good. The cocktails were ok. It was a fun night in any case, and I would go back, but I didn't have that "Dinner was amazing" feeling. It's usually buzzing all year round so it's possible that being New Year's Eve, it was just an off day for me.
Excellent and fresh.
Thank you for the great service, adding one dish and one dessert for my friend, who just celebrated his birthday. Their service was very attentive. I am grateful for the service.
However, I had to confirm my suspicion this time for sure. Perry's had been a great gem as a place for authentic Japanese food. I am Japanese, and was very pleased with the food they used to serve. This was my second time after they changed the menu, and I was very sad that the variety was gone. I see an obvious decline of customers last time (maybe it was a Sunday night?). For example, you cannot serve a deep fried Japanese shiso along with sashimi, because sashimi is raw fish!! Hot dish should be served as hot, while cold dish like sashimi should be served as cold. I am not a chef in any way, but it is a basic principle of Japanese food. There will be a biggest Japanese education conference (with Asian studies) this coming March. I was planning to book a table for the occasion at Perry's. But with the current menu, there is no way for me to invite my important Japanese friends and colleagues. I strongly believe that Perry's was the best in DC. I am really hoping that they will go back to the previous menu with previous Japanese chefs.
Food was perfectly prepared. Service was perfectly delivered. Kinda perfect!
We had an aaaaamazing dinner! Everything tasted so good. My favorite "compliments of the chef" were mouth-melting toro (fatty tuna) and juicy clams! We were celebrating a very special occasion with a large group of people, and the owner and the chef made us feel so welcome and at home that we had a wonderful time! I lived in the DC area for 12 years and saw many sushi places come and go, but Perry's has been around for so long, and you know why. One of my most favorite sushi places in the greater Washington DC area!!
Great Sushi!! Took wife for birthday with friends whileon vacation. Cool rooftop bar as well.
We loved the ambiance, service and food. The deserts are spectacular and the port belly was incredible. You can chose the chef choice and highly recommend
Went for dinner on a Saturday night. Very classy place. Nice ambiance inside where we ate, but the rooftop was especially great. We just had an after dinner cocktail there but in warmer weather that would be the place to be. Food was good. Not the best sushi rolls I’ve ever had, but solid. Reasonable prices for DC. Would go back.
Great food and service. Our waiter was very attentive even with a group of 5 with differing food and beverage tastes.
Welcoming environment. Wonderful sushi and kebabs. Great roof top patio experience in late October, including very comfortable chairs, white table coverings and a festive atmosphere.
We've dined at Perry's many times, almost always ordering the sushi/sashimi for two, among other dishes. On our last visit the quality of the fish was lackluster and the quantity appeared to have been reduced. What we once thought was a good combination of quality and price did not live up to that opinion on our recent visit.
The sushi here is top notch as are the dumplings. Be warned, if you order the edamame make sure to specify "no salt." I never send back food however the chef used sea salt on the edamame making it too salty to eat. Our server were very kind in putting in another order with no salt. Another FYI, if you go for happy hour on the roof then want to have dinner, they are not keen on people taking their drinks to their table, even if you have closed your tab. I think it's kind of a silly rule especially if you have closed your tab. I would imagine most people understand that you do not get up from your table once you've been seated to get drinks from the happy hour bar but maybe they've had some bad customers. Also something to note, they will not seat you until your entire party has arrived, even if you have a reservation. I also think this is a little impractical but it's not my restaurant so I do what the host/hostess says.
Roof seating is a separate reservation and can't be made on OpenTable... should be advertised as such
Excellent sushi. this DC institution never disappoints
Took my son for his birthday dinner. We sat on the rooftop which has a fantastic ambience. The service was wonderful and the staff was fantastic. Enjoyed the sushi and the fried rice! Will definitely go again!!
I might go back for the drinks and the cool vibe. The sushi was not good. Also, they made us wait until all 3 of our party was there to seat us which I feel is undignified and rude.
Love this place. Rooftop is a great go-to for a cozy date or a small group of friends. Great bar downstairs pre dinner.
Great service and wonderful food!
Started at the inside bar for happy hour. The drinks we're not great and bartender seemed lost. Once seated for dinner up stairs service, drinks and food were excellent.
The food and drinks were delicious! The waiter was a helicopter parent but was overall helpful.
Food was good, but service slow and forgetful. You
The upstairs roof bar is really nice when the weather is nice.
The sushi is very good. I recommend the fire dragon and the element rolls.
Service is also good with friendly, attentive waiters.
Great place that is still rocking it!
It was wonderful!!!! The staff, the manager, the food, the surprise birthday dessert the evening was perfect! :)
The rooftop bar/restaurant is always lively and pretty. The menu is not as interesting or inventive as I remember. Far fewer selections than before. But the tuna tartar was delish, and the selection of Japanese whiskeys is a nice touch.
Really yummy sushi. I came with 4 other friends and we had a wonderful time. Servers were very friendly!
Quick date night for Sushi and Perry's didn't disappoint! Sushi was fresh and delicious. Cocktails were well crafted and served promptly. Roof deck is an amazing happy hour space, and even available for dining (weather permitting). Great time!
It was a very romantic spot. Great ambiance, service and overall awesome date spot
This place is amazing. I loved the atmosphere. I took my Mom here for her birthday and she absolutely loved it. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We wanted to sit on the roof but it was so windy when we got there we decided to sit inside. Inside the restaurant is nicely decorated. I loved to concept of sitting on couches. It's a very homey feel and just like you're hanging out. The music can get loud after dark on the weekends, but I didn't mind it. We loved it. I can't wait to go back!
Great experience. Excellent Service. It was a little cold in there. Skewers were fantastic, drinks were refreshing.
We go to Perry's for roof top dining -- and enjoy the food, as well. My only complaint is one I have of many restaurants -- Stop telling me how to read a menu! Luckily we had dined there before and so could skip the lecture on how to order. We loved the crudo, the pork belly skewers, and the fried whole rockfish was superb.
It was hard to choose between the ambiance of the rooftop terrace at sunset or the fabulous sushi and sashimi we had for which we enjoyed most. We were looking for a neighborhood restaurant with good food for our last night visiting my son and his fiance, and I'm so glad that my son found Perry's. The service was friendly, fast, and professional. The food was all perfect. And they had a very good bottle of Sauvignon Blanc for only $33. I look forward to going back again.
