Always reliable and crowded. Food is always good albeit a bit potato heavy. Skimpy Bloody Mary but yummy eggs Benedict.
Good food and great service. Nice place for lunch with friends.
Great spot for people watching. Awesome for your pup to enjoy seating outside.
Perry’s food and service is consistently excellent. Sayed the server is friendly and very helpful. Thank you!
Worst waitress ever. She hurried us (I had made a reservation so it wasn’t like she was doing us a favor). Then, toward the end of our meal, she asked us to move to a different table so she could seat friends together. I’ve been to Perry’s many times over the years and this was a first for us. She was not well trained and really, you could have pulled someone off the street who would have had better manners. This person was so unlike the waiters we’ve had over the years - she was in our faces a lot trying to speed us through our meal. Just horrible...
One of our favorite neighborhood spots. We always make reservations for the high tops near the bar so we can see the TVs and the staff there always is so accommodating. Great food and great service.
If you don’t know. Now you know.
I mentioned it was my husbands birthday during the reservation process. But when we finished eating our server asked if we were done with our plates and brought a check without asking if we wanted dessert. Not only that but he never checked on us during the meal to see if we wanted more water or soda. When we paid cash, he brought the wrong change. When I mentioned this to him, his excuse was "its been a long day"
It’s always great here
The service was very slow and without an apology for showing up at our table for the first time after we had been seated 10+ minutes. It didn't improve much from there. Portions are large, but not very tasty. It's probably okay for a burger, but there are much better options nearby..
We had the perry burger med. rare done to perfection. Also the Reuben sanwichwich which was great along with the home made chips and French fries. Also the fried calamari which was just a bit chewy, but still delicious. No complaints. Service was very good. Always enjoy coming here. Great atmosphere.
The food was fine, but two out of 5 of us had to wait forever for their food. We found out later that the wait staff had given their food to another table by mistake, and they had to start our order from scratch. Then, after we finished, they left us sitting there forever without ever bringing a check--or even asking if we wanted anything else. But then, after we tracked the server down, she told us the meal was free, because two of the orders came to the table so egregiously late. They could have just given us the two orders they screwed up for free, or offered us free dessert, but this was even better. And that's really good customer relations. I would go back.
Been stopping here when in San Francisco since the 80's. Never disappoints. Proposed to my Wife here 25 years ago.
Christmas Eve dude
It was great!
We were first to be seated , and last to have our order taken. Frustrating! Food was enjoyed, but did not appreciate the service for this reason.
We were happy we chose to have breakfast here the other morning. Huge portion, great food, reasonable price and nice people. Always love the ambiance here. A real neighborhood gem.
A great staple and a solid option for a couple or small group. Food is decent and portions are generous. However- menu lacks creativity.
Love the table and the bartender Emily was super accommodating to our sports watching needs. She is the best!!
Perrys never misses
They make you welcome so you can enjoy your friends and they serve you- rather than interrupt you- as most other places do!!!
Love it there! Great food and great time- every time
Thank you to Perrys
Nice place but you need to ask for a table "up front" or risk being seated near the rear bathroom, which, when the door opens, emits an unpleasant smell of disinfectant and cleaning solvent. The caesar salad is quite large and should be shared unless it is your entre. The tuna poke was recommended by our server but mushy and not flavorful. We left half of the order on the dish but the server didn't ask if there was a problem. Salmon was served on a large bed of vegetables and tasted good but also a large portion.
Perry’s offered a really nice full thanksgiving dinner at a reasonable price. The food was very well
prepared except the green beans were quite underdone. The helpings of gravy and cranberry sauce were much too small, but happily refilled. The cocktails were excellent. Service was quite good even though the dining room was packed. When getting up, my disabled husband almost fell, and the staff came to his rescue instantly, even helping him to a cab. Thank you, Perry’s!
Always fun. Always good service. Great burgers and French onion soup
Stands the test of time -- I've been going to Perry's since the 1980s. Instead of feeling dated, it feels wonderfully comfortable. The service is great, the food is reliably tasty and the drinks are always served with a smile and a chat with the great bartenders. Its perfect for lunch, dinner or to watch a game. A consistently good place for a nice meal with friends or solo at the bar. Don't miss the chopped salad!!
Perry’s always is fun to visit. Food good , ambiance and service excellent. I have been going to Perry’s for years but in last 4-5 years just once per year. Only go when I visit relatives in SF. Live in New York area. New York has some places like Perry’s but in my opinion Perry’s is better. Anytime I come to SF I will go to Perry’s. Highly recommended
We both ordered the Cobb Salad. It was tasteless and bland. The dressing tasted like dishwater. We asked the waiter for some other dressing to put on the salads. He brought three dressings, one of which was the vinaigrette that comes with the salad. When we tasted that dressing in the ramekin, it was clear that we did not get that dressing on our salads. The server knew we were struggling with the salads, trying to make them edible, which never happened. He bussed uneaten salads but was not concerned about how we felt. He should have comped our meals. It was clear that we were not happy with either of the salads. He did nothing. We ordered French fries, which he could have at least comped. He did not. His name is Jordan.
Perry's never changes. Terrific burger is the stand-out, but everything is good to excellent. Monday night half-price wine is a bargain. Service is friendly and helpful if not exactly totally on top of it. But who cares?
There were inexplicably no signature breadsticks! No explantion.
We have been to Perry's on Union St. many times and always enjoy the food and ambiance. Over the years I have come to remember some of the wait staff. They are great! Love the pot roast and when I'm done, I can't wait till I return to eat it again, which in most cases is months as we don't get to San Francisco often. Good meal, good service, good value. Reservation enabled by Open Table makes it so easy.
Dinner entrees were excellent in taste and presentation.
Wait persons quiet, efficient, pleasing!
Great service, terrific food and wonderful location!
Consistent American food and beverage for the decades I’ve been a customer. Went for 1/2 burgers. Ordered medium rare & was exactly what I ordered. Fries were crispy.
Martini could have been as dry as I ordered.
I will keep returning. Good value. Good fun!
I'm at Perry's alot. New waitress not attentive. Had to ask multiple times for things, did not check back.
she appeared to be watching the game on tv~
Had a reservation - was given a table next to the bathroom - bathroom door opened into the table. Decided not to sit there and then had to wait 1/2hour for another table!!!
Food was mediocre at best.
Usually have a good experience here but this was not good at all.
The Wednesday night lobster is excellent! It was cooked perfectly and delicious.
Great Food with fabulous service in an off the beaten path neighborhood. I love eating with the locals!
Perfect evening. We learned that all bottles of wine are half off in August. Don't miss this great deal.
Although I ask for a quiet table, there are none at Parrys. Sitting across a table from someone makes it almost impossible to hear! Please consider putting in more sound proofing insulation or reserve a space where there are smaller parties and less loud laughing and yelling! The meal does not taste good when you have to yell across the table to be heard! Also the soup I ordered as a first course was barely luke warm and it took so long for the waiter to return to ask for the soup to be warmed, our main course came! The main course was okay, but please consider the ability to order half orders.
Great as always. We love Perry’s. Oh please with the 50 characters.
