About Perry's - Embarcadero
Perry’s on the Embarcadero is a sleek waterfront outpost of the Union Street original, following the same combination of all-American favorite fare and comfortable, welcoming service that Perry’s first made a San Francisco hallmark in 1969. The décor is warm – murals reminiscent of the memorabilia made famous on Union Street, combined with exposed brick walls, a wood-burning fireplace and breathtaking views of the Bay and the Bay Bridge.
Perry’s is known today, as much as ever, for its classic American food, its warm personable service and its fun, bustling bar. Perry's traditional yet innovative menu includes a wide variety of sandwiches, salads, pastas, steaks and grilled fresh fish. Perry’s on the Embarcadero is conveniently located in the heart of San Francisco’s bustling financial district, across the street from the Ferry Building, less than a mile from AT&T Park and easy to reach by public transportation from all over the city and the greater Bay Area.

Perry's - Embarcadero Ratings and Reviews
Family friends from Australia in town with their three kids. Our total group was 9 (5 adults, 4 kids) and it worked out very well. The ambiance is nice and semi-casual, comfortable enough to bring the kids, but nice enough for the adults to enjoy a decent brunch. The food is good standard brunch fare, nothing extraordinary but nice enough.
Even though I made reservations more than a week in advance, I still had to wait approximately 10 minutes to be seated. This is not the first time that I have made reservations in advance and still have to wait 5 to 10 minutes to be seated. Perhaps this is because the restaurant is so busy, however, it is still frustrating. Despite this continuing frustration, Perry’s is a great restaurant, the wait staff is excellent and the food is always good.
Been a customer of Perry's since 1975 at their Union Street Location. Back then, great for their Liver/Bacon/Onion Dinner. Last time visit was one time during the 1990's. Was not impressed with their Breakfast Offering at that time. Thought I'd chance it on this visit. Glad we did. My wife and I found the breakfast we ordered "outstanding." With this in our memory, we will definitely be back.
The hostess was not helpful and completely unfriendly, wouldn't seat us when even though we had a reservation and there was probably 12 tables wide open. Then she sat us at a random table by the bathroom. COuldn't believe it. We sat down at 12noon and ordered, our food didn't come until 1pm!!!! I order the chicken and biscuits, it came cold. A restaurant that was completely unprepared for a typical lunch hour on wedn this week. Never go there again.
Really good food in a lovely environment. We were a group of six and the restaurant was surprisingly comfortable and quiet. We could actually have a conversation without noise all around. The salmon with wild rice and vegetables was delicious as were the sweet potato fries. The portions were large and the price was reasonable.
Generally very good food and dependable for a business lunch. This time, wood shards were in my sandwich from the toothpick like thing securing the sandwich. One got caught in my throat and made the entire sandwich quite unappealing. Though apologies were offered - that meal should have been comped in my opinion. My luncheon partners had no complaints about their meals and enjoyed them. But, that's always a business call, in this case, not a good one.
Perry’s provided a great experience. Valet parking was an amazing touch. The food was delicious and the price wasn’t bad. It was a little loud because of the bar but it didn’t ruin our experience at all. We made reservations for 6:30 but we were done with our wedding ceremony early so they seated us when we arrived at 5:40. We will definitely be back and recommend to others.
2 adults, 3 boys under 12, 6:00 res. 2 boys order filet to split, waitress brings petite. We ask if she can leave petite and bring another. She "asks" manager and comes back and says manager says No, she must bring regular filet. Over 20 minutes later, 7:15 now, regular filet arrrives underr cooked. Manager makes it right, knows nothing about original ask. Bad Waitress. Manager removes 2 items from bill. Says waitress should have left boys petite originally. Good, smart manager.
Perry's is consistently good American-fare, but the steuart St restaurant is also very comfortable and inviting. We had cocktails (perfect French 75) and a delicious Brutus ceasar with chicken. Shared a brown apple Betty for desert that was so big, even shared we couldn't finish. Going to make this Perry's a monthly ritual.
