Perry's - Embarcadero
Perry’s is known today, as much as ever, for its classic American food, its warm personable service and its fun, bustling bar. Perry's traditional yet innovative menu includes a wide variety of sandwiches, salads, pastas, steaks and grilled fresh fish. Perry’s on the Embarcadero is conveniently located in the heart of San Francisco’s bustling financial district, across the street from the Ferry Building, less than a mile from AT&T Park and easy to reach by public transportation from all over the city and the greater Bay Area.
I have been to Perry’s many times and was always happy. This time we had a very unfriendly waiter (her name was Lacie).
Best value in SF! The dungeness crab risotto (Saturdays only) was divine!
Everything was very good ! The bread was hard, thin, sticks so we didn’t like them but the pot roast was perfect and the broccoli was perfect, too!
Great food, place and service - my wife really liked it. Made for a great Valentine's Day
The restaurant has very nice views of the Bay bridge. The service and the food were excellent. I would go there again.
Very service minded staff. We felt welcomed. Also our companion left her purse behind. They were very helpful in helping us to retrieve since we were 1 1/2 hour away they allowed a another friend to pick up for us. The food was just right for a good price. We will be back.
No acknowledgment of birthday despite alerting during the reservation. Without discussing with the waiter nothing was gonna happen.
I have shared details with on site management: if you are interested please follow up with them.
Dinner was great. We did happen to come at a popular time of night which made for a lot of noise. Besides the noise volume, we really enjoyed our experience.
Been going to Perry's for years. Embarcadero location great for pre and post Giants games.
If you are waiting for Amtrak bus, just a short walk to Temp Trans Bay Terminal.
Patio seating nice on warm days, nights.
We went there after a play.
Our reception at the entrance was disappointing. We waited far too long before we were greeted. I asked the bartender and she said “yeah you just have to wait.” Not very welcoming. I finally flagged a server who started to help when the hostess finally arrived. First impression 1 out of 5 stars. Our server made up for the “welcome.” She was awesome checked in on us regularly.
View in the bay bridge is spectacular. Service was a tad slow, and with a bit of attitude ... call me old fashioned ... in general good food, good ambience, fun and loud
Perry's is a place to go when you just want to hang with no hassles. Reception was warm. Wait staff friendly and efficient. Food creativity concocted, plentiful, and attractively priced. My only nit on this last visit was being served poached eggs that were overlooked.
But, hey, sometimes when I do that dish for myself, the results are much worse.
When I'm in the Embarcadero area, this is my first choice.
When I bring my family into the city, this is a great place to take everyone. The entire family can find a suitable meal that they like, which can be a problem at more upscale venues, although this is not downscale by any means. The food is good quality and the cocktails are great!
Excellent Service, please atmosphere, great food. The waiter was especially friendly and on top of everything.
Excellent service, lovely staff, DELICIOUS food. A+
Great tomato bisque. Adding text to get to 50 characters.
Food was good, outside seating was comfortable with great views of the SF Bay and the service was awesome!
It was so noisy that I’ll probably never return. Just horrible noise level.
DELISH! Tried to get my entire team to go back the next night!!
'Great restaurant. Authentic San Francisco style, old school feeling. Great location.. Can.t miss with this place...
best thing is that they are close to the Embarcadero. I love to have lunch and then walk on the Embarcadero. It's fun and lively. Makes walking a treat.
We got as close to the window is the hostess would allow. Food was excellent and the breadsticks were unique. Would come back with an out-of-town guest. My friend had the avocado Benidict and I had the bacon egg lettuce tomato sandwich. We shared the clam chowder soup which was delicious. All were amazing especially after a night out.
I use to dine and hang out at Perry's when it first opened on Union Street back in the '70's. Loved their dinner menu back then. I was surprised to find Perry's next door to where we were staying for New Years Eve 2017/2018. And the ease of obtaining a reservation the morning of January 1, 2018 via the "Open Table App." We liked the App mentioned in conjunction with dining for breakfast at Perry's on the Embarcadero that we came back for New Years day 2018/2019. Whereas in the previous year, the restaurant was not as crowded, this year it was full of diners. A testament that good dining and good service attracted more diners to this establishment. And, we will be back for 2019/2020 as we made reservations for the Harbor Court Hotel as we checked out, which is just a very short "hop, skip, and dance" to Perry's.
I got to Perry's fairly often and almost always for the breakfast! Willy Halnan's corned beef hash is my favorite! We decided to do breakfast for New Year's day and brought my wife and two 13 year old boys plus my parents. My Dad and I ordered the Corned Beef hash and my Mom ordered the Eggs Benedict. All three dishes had soft boiled eggs and the yolks were harder than they should be. A minor disappointment for sure, but worth mentioning. Also, one of my son's ordered the tortilla scramble and he said it was bland. If a 13 year old boy says something is bland, you know it must be bland. That being said, the service was fabulous and I love the location! Make sure and sit near the window if you can, so you have a nice view of the Bay and the Bay Bridge! This was my first less than 5 star experience at Perry's and it will definitely not stop me from going back!
Celebrate New Year 2019
it was great! Thank to Perry’s and OpenTable for good evening )
Everything was excellent!! The waitress did a great job, she was quick and very polite!!
We continue to enjoy eating at Perry's. The food is great, the location is awesome being right along the Embarcadero and the waterfront, and the servers have always been friendly and very good.
The place was amazing, except that we were seating very close to the door to the bridge and it was very cold because of the wind coming through the door.
Went to Perrys on NYE. Unfortunately it was very chilly so we were unable to sit outside--they do have fantastic views if you can sit outside on a nice evening. The host who seated us was friendly. It seemed to take forever for our waitress to acknowledge us and only came back to check on us once --at then end of the meal to see if we wanted dessert. We had a bottle of champagne throughout dinner in which there was no ice bucket and we ended up pouring it ourselves throughout the meal. The serving portions were very generous at reasonable prices. This place is a great casual stop.
A busy bistro American style restaurant close to the Embarcadero...it’s actually part of a hotel. The food was ok overall. I was happy with my wedge and French onion soup. The other guests at my table were not so happy. The service was ok. I think at first there was some confusion as to who would serve us. Once we had a server, she checked on us and served our food but wasn’t very pleasant. There was also a very unpleasant bathroom smell in the restaurant and hotel lobby as we were leaving. I think if you can t get a Rez anywhere else go for it. But there are much nicer places along the Embarcadero if you can get it.
Perry’s is keeping up its standard of quality food, excellent service, and. inviting ambiance. The perfect place for a friends get together or business lunch. Only suggestion - which is true of all restaurants - is to ask for the table you want rather than take the one ‘assigned’ by the hostess. All tables are not equal!
Our dinner experience was exactly what we were looking for, after a long flight, a quick bite.
Salads were delicious. Given that it was a busy holiday evening, service was pretty good.
Good service, very good food. Would definitely go there again when we are in the City.
Upbeat vive, friendly staff, good wholesome food. great location in the Embarcadero area.
One of best places to get toasted bagels with lox for brunch on the weekends!
Las meseras son muy amables , la comida fue excelente y la ambientación del lugar es muy padre!
