Located in the Galleria Atrium of the San Francisco Design Center, Perry’s at the Design Center is set in a polished elegant space featuring a four-story atrium with fully retractable skylight and exposed brick walls.
Perry's SFDC serves lunch Monday through Friday, offering signature dishes such as French Onion Soup, the Traditional Cobb Salad, Petrale Sole Meuniere, and of course, the renowned Hamburger. Perry's at the Design Center also offers full morning coffee service and continental breakfast from 8:00-11:00am.
Everything was very good except that there were big hairy dogs in the restaurant. They walked all over the place. Even though the food and service was very good, the experience felt less sanitary then other locations. Will not go back.
My girlfriend and I had a great lunch the waiter was very pleasant and welcoming
We come to Perry's every few months for the great ambiance and well-priced food. Usually the service is good. Not so much this time around. Waiter had a snooty air about him, looked disinterested in his job. Also, soup arrived after main course. Not great.
I have dined here many times. Food is pretty consistent. Our waiter was great and I like the new dry rose.
Perry's is so consistent. Smaller menu with just the right options. Service is always attentive.
Been going to Perry's for years & will continue until with food or service disappoints.
We were expecting the old Perry's as in dark wood, booths, professional service with white aprons. We were stunned when we walked in. Stark white, very bright and servers in T-shirts. Not at all what we expected. We would have given it a try had we not waited at the hostess stand for 5 minutes without being greeted. We left and did not dine with you.
Quiet lunch. Pretty good food and nice server.
Thoughtful and efficient service. Our server offered a couple of suggestions so that I would have exactly what I wanted without feeling like I was being high maintenance. The food was perfectly prepared and attractively presented. The location is very convenient to the design district and parking is nearby. This will definitely be my go to place in this area.
I was going to make reservations on OpenTable but the Internet was down at the coffee shop I was at, so I called directly. After 20 rings, someone picked up. I said I wanted to make a reservation for 2 at 12:15 and she said, "OK". I asked if she wanted my name and she said no. I said never mind and found working WIFI and made the reservation through OpenTable. When I arrived, it made sense that this is not a busy place and there were plenty of empty seats. Really stupid on their part because they are now out the $2 a person that OpenTable charges a restaurant for reservations. If you are going to have someone answer the phone, make sure they are trained to take reservations.
Instead of boring you with all the details of the rest of the lunch, here are the highlights:
1) Burger arrived and I asked the server for some mustard. 5 minutes later, it still had not shown up. I had to wave down my waitress to come over, so she could get some. Burger was no longer hot by the time I was able to dress it.
2) The waitress disappeared for 10 - 15 minutes on what I can only assume her break.
3) While waitress was on her break I ran out of water. I could not find my waitress anywhere. I held up my glass in the hopes that someone would see it, but I finally had to wave down another waitress from across the restaurant. She acknowledged my water need and a few minutes later, I looked up to see that she was taking the order of one of her tables. I finally got up and walked across the restaurant to get my own bottle of water.
I was being taken to lunch and didn't want to create a stink in front of my friend by talking to the manager at the time. I thought this was a better avenue for complaining. If a waitress has to take a break during lunch, the manager should step in and make sure the tables are being properly serviced.
But, the burger was fantastic. Next time I want a burger from Perry's, I'll head to Union Street.
Terrible service. Food just ok. Fried veggie burger? Why fried? But It's one of the only sit-down restaurants near my office so i went to have a lunch meeting. I would never select this place for any other reason.
Perry's is our go-to restaurant for lunch in the Design Center. We like the space, the food is good and the overall experience is usually very good. This time, the service was extremely poor. We waited almost 20 minutes without a server coming to the table. Finally, after a party that was seated after us got served, I got up and asked the host to send someone over to take our order. The waiter did not apologize for keeping us waiting and did not go out of his way to improve the situation.
When the food was brought to the table, we asked for mustard. Half way through our meal, we flagged the waiter down and told him we still had not received it. We needed to signal for the waiter to bring us our check, and then signal him again to inform him of an error on the bill. No one on the staff seemed to care whether our dining experience was satisfactory or not.
Because our previous visits have always been positive, we were particularly surprised and disappointed this last time.
I love the indoor/outdoor ambiance. Very cool and hip. Service was great. Waiter was helpful and good sense of humor. Perry's food is always good.
Nice place for lunch and the food was tasty, but the service was extremely slow.
Great lunch choices, nice atmosphere, great service - just what i wanted
I have been to Perry's many times. First time at this location. I liked the open area and I was surprised it was not to crowded at lunch time on a Wednesday as I expected. The burger was great and my Cappuccino was delicious. I recommend Perry's for a nice lunch while wandering around in the Design Center area.
Perry's is great for a casual lunch with a friend or a meeting with a client. It is quiet enough to hear yourself. The food is very good.
Nice selection. My friend was also impressed. They don't rush you through your meal. I would definitely go back.
amazingly open atrium space great for parties and special events!
david mirabelli really has it going on at this perry's location making it a perfect place for large groups/events in the design center/newbie dot com area with zynga/advent and adobe software, sf's mini silicon valley!
magnificent & glamorous view once inside the multi-leveled interior design building!
great cocktails, decnet wine list & friendly staff make this place THE spot to dine while out on a buying trip with your residential/contract designer!
It's always a pleasure to either sit out in the atrium area or around the seated bar @ Perry's Design Center. The general manager Dave is always on top of food preparation making sure your meal is perfect! And the bar manager Laura does it too with drinks, whether it be a perfect pour of Sav. Blanc or mixed drink, these two make Perry's 101 Henry Adams work for Perry.
I take all of my designer guests for lunch or after work and am welcomed as if I was in the cast of Cheer's! Cheers to Perry's!
Good place for taking clients in the area.
A friend recommended the restaurant and wanted to identify a place that would be good for me and my guest from L.A. and Vegas. Since we all had to get up at 3a.m. to catch our planes we were famished after our morning conference meeting. We could have not asked for a better place to dine than Perry's Design Center. We enjoyed the ambiance, being in furniture design center we also had a chance to look at some of the latest trends in furniture design. h A couple of my friends were Vegans and they exceeded their expectations! The sole meuniere (sp?) was amazing and the ahi tuna tacos were exceptional. All of the vegetables were prepared perfectly. Perry's definitely rates a return!
We arrived just a couple of minutes before opening, but unlike is often the case...there was no "attitude" about us arriving early. The host and manager were both incredibly gracious and accomodating. Betsy took care of us at the table......service was prompt and accurate, she was warm and attentive without getting in the way of our conversation. The food was excellent and we'll be back. Thanks! ~steveT
I was very disappointed. It was cold - both the atmosphere and the service. The food was just "ok".
