   I've only been to the new incarnation of Perla, but my experience was very good. I gather that they went for a much more casual approach, and they definitely succeeded (our male server was wearing jean shorts). The appetizer (Little Gem) was fantastic - exceptionally fresh veggies and great flavors. The pastas were inventive and seasonal, and perfectly done. Where they fell down was the prawns - they were grilled, but grilling prawns can sometimes leave them with a bitter taste, which is what they did here. Still, I would return for sure.

   It was a hot and steamy summer night...and we had a delightful dinner at Perla. We had tried getting reservations all last summer (of 2014), and finally reserved for a Sunday night in the summer of 2015. Salmon Tartar: nicely balanced with the sweet corn brodetto; Little Gem Salad - this seems to be the dish du jour this season, was nicely done; Agnolotti with sweet peas, carrots and parmigiano was just right; Orecchiette with sweet italian sausage and broccoli rabe pesto was the star of the night - perfect balance of rich and light, salty, sweet, slightly bitter, and lightly creamy. Olive oil cake with strawberries and whipped cream was a slight twist on a strawberry shortcake. All paired with easy drinking glasses of wine.

   Perla is current, hip, but has soul--the owner LOVES food and knows how to treat his guests to a memorable experience. Your eyes take in the well-appointed decor, the wait staff is super friendly, and the food is delightful. Yes--you should go to Perla. This place has a heartbeat, exudes joy and passion, mixed with humility and gratitude, and you leave with big smile on your face feeling like you discovered a secret.

   The staff here is friendly from the moment you enter the door. I had a delicious Negroni at the small front bar while waiting for the rest of my party. Once arrived, we were seated in a larger booth in the back of the room. The kitchen heat was palpable and when I our server whether the AC could be turned up, within minutes it had cooled off. Our server was knowledgeable, personable and very efficient. She knew all the ingredients and preparation of each of the dishes we inquired about. My friend has serious allergy issues and she was incredibly patient in helping him work through the menu to determine what dishes he could safely eat. The food was expertly prepared and presented. There was a grilled lamb tongue with beets & hazelnut appetizer that both people who ordered raved about. I had the baby artichokes and arugula topped with shaved parmesan that was light and delicious. Another appetizer was a sort of pork croquette. My main course was the Dorade prepared with a chili sauce that was the perfect balance for the lightness of the fish. My husband had the hangar steak that he said was perfectly prepared. Overall, the food and service were top notch. I do believe the music is played far too loudly for the size of the space. I would definitely recommend Perla and would eat there again.

   I have been at Perla twice within 7 days, and just let me say, I think the food is some of the best I have ever had, and I have traveled all over the world, Italy , Spain Greece and of course all over the USA. The menu is very limited, but oh so good. I must repeat , Do not miss out on this fantastic restaurant.

    Ordered pasta. Had a five minute discussion about red pepper chili flakes that I can't eat and show up in food even tho not on menu description. Server said don't worry, won't be in this. Pasta came out spicy WITH red pepper flakes. Thank God I tasted it right away. Sent it back. Manager came over and said " sorry for the misunderstanding". There was no misunderstanding I said.... I'm allergic.... I could have died! Manager response: I should have said "allergic" Moral: if you don't say you will die, they won't readjust ingredients! Manager confirmed this!!!Horrible customer service! Won't be back. Strongly don't recommend this place!!!

    Its a relatively small place, but at the same time wonderful. The decoration and ambience was good, but their food is of the best quality. Amazing flavor and service. Didnt care about the price, scottish salmon overwhelmed my taste buds.

    I've been to Perla a few times now. The service is always exceptional. If you think of yourself as a foodie, I definitely recommend coming here. You can feel free to order something a little more adventurous on the menu because honestly, everything's going to be good. 10/10.

    Been here three times over the years, and while all meals were good, every dish we ordered on this visit knocked it out of the park. The gnocchi was the favorite of the table, the polenta side dish was so good we ordered a second and my dorade was fantastic. Perla is clearly going from strength to strength...

    The homemade pasta is on point. The service was perfect. It was all about you coming over to their place and sharing what they loved with you. It was seamless. The beverage program isn't half bad either. Brad the bartender knows what he's doing around there. Go for the people AND the food. Phenomenal.

    The restaurant had a wonderful ambiance...cozy, warm and inviting. The menu selections were plentiful and covered a wide spectrum of tastes. If anything was disappointing, and it truly wasn't, I would say the dessert menu is a little weak. We had the olive oil cake and it was good, but nothing to write home about.     Some of the items were very good (pastas, steak, chicken). My only problem with the restaurant is the space- parties of 5 or more are seated in booths and the tables/banquettes are not spacious. It was very tight , uncomfortable, and difficult to talk

    Service was impeccable: attentive, non-rushed, friendly yet respectful; food was fine: fresh, delicious, well presented. The overall ambiance of the place coupled with staff kindness and efficiency made our evening special. The food, although good, was secondary. I would recommend Perla for that beautiful combination of food, ambiance, attentive unfussy service and warm convivial energy. My one concern is that it does get pretty loud here between the pop music blaring through the speakers, lively bar scene and that one big table of celebratory button-down expense-accounters.

    I dined for the first time at Perla with a friend from out of town who raved about it. Food was beyond delicious. She had pasta and i had Tuna. Both amazing! Service was very knowledgable and accommodated my Gluten and food allergies (no problem). The restaurant was packed (in a good way) and very energetic. Bar tenders were amazing also. Great food, service and scene. Highly recommend.

    I had been to Perla many years ago and expected that it probably wasn't going to be as good as my first time dining there. But I was very pleasantly surprised to discover that it was even better. The lasagna was remarkable and everything else we ordered was delicious. There was one mix-up with the dessert that we ordered but our server promptly and kindly made it up to us. Highly recommend for just about any occasion.

    Group of 4 of us had a later seating (9:45pm). Food was delicious - didn't eat a single bad thing. The portions are on the smaller side, so you don't leave stuffed. Definitely get the octopus appetizer - very tender with a smoky, grilled flavor. The lasagna is made with braised pork - was delicious and unique. The orecchiette was probably our favorite - absolutely delicious! We all agree that we would definitely go back. The atmosphere is cozy - music in the background was rap, which we all thought was a little weird.
