Excellent in every way! So happy to be back dining indoors in one of our favorite restaurants. The special grilled fish is always good (we had Black Sea bass this time), as are the grilled mushroom appetizer and rice pudding.

Lovely outdoor dining, perfect for pandemic times. Tables nicely spaced apart, plenty of heat lamps to provide warmth. Same wonderful food!

The best restaurant ever

Everything was perfect. Calamari and Octopus delicious and the salmon was perfectly cooked. One of my all time favorites!

We are Greek, and therefore very picky with our Greek food. This was incredibly authentic and delicious. I was thrilled to see my favorite food on the planet, avgolemono, first on the menu. I'm rarely wowed by anyone's rendition of this soup besides my family, but it was SPECTACULAR. All three of us ate it in record time, exclaiming, "this is the best avgolemono ever!!!"... besides my mom's ;)

The rest of the food was just as amazing. The portions were huge, so I got to enjoy everyone's leftovers for the next few days. The lamb, the chicken souvlaki, and the moussaka were all 5 stars.

My parents live in NJ where indoor dining is still allowed, so they were a little hesitant to dine outside after the sun was down on a cold windy night, but Periyali did a fabulous job heating the place and keeping you covered and protected from the wind, while still allowing us to feel safe and distanced. We were more than comfortable, and didn't even think of the 30-something-degree temperature once.

Our server's wine recommendations were spot on, and the desserts were to die for. I really don't even have one complaint for this place. It was an amazing night, start to finish.

With only six tables outside, though, make sure you make your reservation in advance! You don't wanna miss out on this one!

We ate at a table outside. We were concerned about the table next to us being too close and the management kindly moved it far enough away to make us happy. The food was delicious, especially the octopus appetizer.

We go to Periyali often and usually order their daily special grilled fish and it is always excellent.

Periyali is my all time favorite Greek restaurant in New York City. Chef always gets it right and uses the freshest ingredients. The ambiance and vibe are great and service is always first rate. I celebrate my birthday here every year and my friends and family also rave about it.

I love Periyali, it was our local when we lived in Flatiron because it is consistently solid food that can be as healthy or heavy as you want it to be (everything from more simply-cooked fish to salmon baked in phyllo or yummy cakes). Paired w a good wine list, European-style good service and a great ambience (was more romantic when you could eat indoors but they’ve put their beautiful roses out in their outdoor patio albeit in much smaller bunches!). When we lived closer we came almost once a week.
