Outdoor situation is small, but charming. The heaters are excellent.
The food, as always, is wonderful.

We ate at a table outside. We were concerned about the table next to us being too close and the management kindly moved it far enough away to make us happy. The food was delicious, especially the octopus appetizer.

We go to Periyali often and usually order their daily special grilled fish and it is always excellent.

Really nice space, and easy to talk with friends in. Food was great!

Periyali is my all time favorite Greek restaurant in New York City. Chef always gets it right and uses the freshest ingredients. The ambiance and vibe are great and service is always first rate. I celebrate my birthday here every year and my friends and family also rave about it.

I love Periyali, it was our local when we lived in Flatiron because it is consistently solid food that can be as healthy or heavy as you want it to be (everything from more simply-cooked fish to salmon baked in phyllo or yummy cakes). Paired w a good wine list, European-style good service and a great ambience (was more romantic when you could eat indoors but they’ve put their beautiful roses out in their outdoor patio albeit in much smaller bunches!). When we lived closer we came almost once a week.

Food and service was very good. The outdoor dining was also good. Tables were spaced well.

The best prepared and most delicious octopus on the planet. Fish is superb. Desserts too. The service is always welcoming. I have been going to Periyali for over 30 years and I have never had anything but a wonderful experience including my son’s 18th birthday.

Periyali is one of the Best Greek Restaurants in the City. Food was delicious & our waiter was Great, even recommending a New Wine when they were out of the one we ordered. The Bar was slow to get drinks but they were busy.

Peryyali provides a uniformly excellent experience in every way. Given the quality, the prices offer true value. Do not miss the Octopus or the very good Greek wines. Highly recommended.

Periyali comes through in fine fashion like always! I have my birthday dinner here every year to commemorate my Father who bought me here as a young girl before he passed. The staff are always warm and fun and the food is always great. See you next year Periyali!

Periyali is consistently terrific. Great service, fresh and delicious food, and wonderful desserts. Try the rice pudding!

Our experience at Periyali was very nice overall. Service was kind, knowledgable, and attentive. Nice Greek red wine options by the glass. For the most part, the food was good and fresh. Our only nit-picks would be that many appetizers were served with garlic sauce, which was delicious but became a little monotonous. We also wanted to love the spanakopita, kolokithokeftedes, and tiropita platter, but we found the kolokithokeftedes to be overly greasy and the spanakopita and tiropita to be a bit lacking in flavor. We'd suggest going elsewhere in the city for these appetizers and trying something else from Periyali's menu instead.

Lovely restaurant & having just been to Greece for our Honeymoon - the food was incredible ! Very high standard of cuisine and very attentive waitstaff. I highly recommend!

I've been here twice, and both times have loved it. Periyali has an excellent menu with amazing flavors. I've had the grilled octopus, which is phenomenal, the filet mignon kabob (fantastic!), the stuffed grape leaves (heavenly!) and the baklava (perfection!). I recommend everything I mention here. The service is impeccable, the atmosphere is classy yet cozy. An absolute gem!

This mainstay of NYC Greek cuisine is worth a visit if you want an elegant and authentic food Greek experience. The menu is good. As a Greek, I loved that the menu items were written in English but were the actual Greek language translation. The dip appetizers were excellent although larger dollops would have been appreciated. The Greek salad actually was perfect -- the feta some of the best I've had -- and tomatoes that tasted as if they were shipped from Greece. The lamb shank was massive and perfect, the souvlakis also great, and the veal delicious. I'd skip desserts...the baklava was mediocre and the revani not syruppy enough. Not rushed Saturday night service. Do wish the online menu had pricing and advised us that prix fixe menu NOT available on Saturday nights. Also great was mastiha cocktail and the Greek wines. Keeping up the great work after all these years!

Everything was superb

The food at Periyali is reliably fresh, well-prepared, and quite good. We especially enjoy the octopus; our sea bass was nicely served in a simple lemon sauce. Our main complaint was: we noted on their website an offer of a Prix Fixe dinner. I called to confirm that this was available on our reserved night (Sunday). When we were offered menus, this Prix Fixe dinner was not included. It took an unpleasant discussion with the manager to insist that it be offered since I had confirmed over the telephone this exact point. Perhaps he checked their own website to confirm. Things such as this spoil an otherwise pleasant night out. Good food, though!

Overall a very pleasant experience. The food and service were excellent. Although initially the noise level was manageable, it became "energetic" when a large group was seated next to us. This took away from the entire experience and hastened our departure. Despite this, I would definitely return.

I have been going to Periyali since 1996, and much more recently. It's just fantastic. Husband always has the octopus. I always have the quail with spinach mushrooms and feta. Guests have whatever - moussaka, grilled branzino - and there is never an unhappy person at the table. Cannot get enough of this place. Lovely staff too.
