Excellent menu, food, staff.
Efficient, polite service.
Always a favorite neighborhood restaurant.
Wonderful neighborhood restaurant. Excellent food and great ambience for a quiet dinner.
One of our favorite restaurants- the food is excellent, the service even better and it has a warm, cozy, luxurious ambience.
Excellent choice for a low-key bite near the museums. My only complaint is there was only one vegetarian option for the price fix entree, with no option for substitutions. Otherwise food was excellent and service was prompt despite a full house.
Food is consistently good and service excellent. We always enjoy our meal at Peri Ela
Very friendly staff, great service. The food was excellent. We shared 3 appetizers and they were wonderful. The drinks were generous and well made. A nice choice a few blocks down from the 92nd Street Y.
The food was delicious-authentic and fresh. The service is warm and inviting in a pretty, wood-paneled setting with lovely lighting.
The food is consistently bad and the meats such as lamb and chicken are always some type of pressed meat filled with fat and grain. Just dreadful.
I love this place- one of the best restaurants on the UES and it makes you feel like you’re somewhere far from NYC. Totally charming and the food is excellent
This is my local, a neighborhood favorite with food that is of unusually high quality. No showy exoticism, but everything is authentic and well prepared. The servers are usually young, pleasant and bright. The place is quiet at lunch, and has a bargain menu, but in the evening it is busy and can get noisy.
The food was delicious. Our server is very kind; however she was not 100% attentive. Maybe she thought we wanted to sit and talk and have a long meal. I’m not sure. But our appetizers came pretty quickly and then the actual meal did not come for a very long time. I had to flag her down to get the check. We were the only patrons in the restaurant.
Good food And service extremely noisy because they don’t have any sound protection.Thats my whole review.
Due to traffic we were 20 minutes late. Service was outstanding and we got out rapidly and made the
Concert with ease.
Nice, cozy neighborhood spot. Lots of charm and food is good. Well worth a visit.
I was disappointed in the swordfish kebabs which were dry this time. The scallion pancakes were excellent, however.
Delightful Turkish restaurant with great food, lovely people, small and not noisy. Totally recommended.
Could kick myself for all my nights attending events at the 92nd St Y, when I ate awful dinners in that area. What a GEM we discovered in Peri Ela. Wonderful, wonderful. Even Danny Meyer doesn't have a nicer, more authentically caring knowledgeable team! The food is GREAT. The salads particularly. Citrus salad based and then whatever is best of season (avocado/watermelon). Any kabob dish, super! ... the lamb chops pounded a bit too thin for our taste, but the grilled pulpo (octopus) was a total gift from the Mediterranean food gods. Sadly, we were to rushed to order dessert. And, you will learn to really like a Turkish Rosé : )) Go, enjoy.
For us it was just too noisy and too crowded. Service was good and very pleasant, but the noise made the evening difficult.
Great food and service. Quaint and romantic stop to catch a bite for lunch.
a GOOD PLACE TO EAT PRIOR TO EVENTS AT THE 92 STREET Y.
Good salads and kebabs with excellent roasted potatoes and/or rice.
Restaurant was empty but was holiday weekend.
Waitstaff very good
A leisurely evening with good food and a comfortable atmosphere created a warm environment to visit with an old friend. We split dishes which reduced the cost. The restaurant let us sit and talk for hours without a hassle. We will be back.
Overpriced! Decent food . 4 skinny lamb chops for $35 , really ?
This is my go-to place in the neighborhood for fresh, authentic Mediterranean food. Differently than in many such places, you needn’t fill up on appetizers. These can be good, but there are occasional misses. There is a lovely citrus salad. The grilled main courses are always perfect. Quality meat or fish is correctly cooked, with the traditional accompaniments- rice, potatoes, a grilled hot pepper and a tomato half. Service is by attractive and friendly, if not always very experienced young staff.
The food is fresh and delicious, the service very professional and the ambiance is lovely.
Varied menu. All meats especially lamb excellent. Service attentive. Went for Mother's Day and it was a success..
Love this great neighborhood spot: wonderful Turkish food, friendly service, always welcoming
This is a cute restaurant tucked away in UES. It is a bit overpriced for the food, but overall it has many selections and some delicious items.
Charming Turkish place with reasonably priced food and good service.
A lovely neighborhood restaurant.
Lovely , intimate space. Delicious food provided w/ attentive service.
My friends and I had a reunion dinner planned with people sharing mixed food options....we figured Mediterranean would be the way to go. What a lucky find for us!!! The space is beyond charming, service was lovely and the food was delicious. The smoked eggplant dip totally teminjded me of my mom's...excellent- the swordfish kabobs were cooked to perfection- the orange and avocado salad was so fresh and yummy..everyone was completely satisfied and thrilled with my choice.
.thank you to everyone for a great evening and we are already talking about coming back.
I would recommend, but only on a week night. Friday night was way too noisy, LOUD.
& I noticed they've raised their prices... a bit too high for vegetable appetizers
Good value and tasty treats
Just a bit tight, it’s a very small space. We had fun with the table next to us. Food delicious
This is a sweet neighborhood place, and appears to have a loyal clientele. I wasn't too crazy about my entree. It was a large lamb shank wrapped in strips of eggplant..I think it was my own fault though for not reading the menu more carefully. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't something I would have ordered, had I been paying more attention!
My friend and I both enjoyed our vegetarian platters very much. The different foods—there must have been about six—all tasted very fresh and homemade. This is a cute homey place and I would return.
very convenient to the 92nd st y, and the food is tasty enough, and authentically turkish. desserts are esply good. they also have small plates, which is nice if you're not all that hungry.
my only complaint concerns noise
they could dispense with background music!
Service: Given a two-ounce or so pour of red wine ($14) I asked the server to please ask the bartender to give us a proper glass of wine. His response: "This is the way we serve red wine". Period! I asked if the owner were there. His response: "No. He's hardly ever here - not on a regular basis, he comes in and out." When I saw a glass of white wine almost full to the top get served nearby I called the server over again to point out the difference between the pours. His response: "That's the way we serve white wine." They were similarly shaped glasses, if not exact.
Food and value: Lamb chops ($36) were served as very thin chops with cubed roast potatoes and rice. Most dishes seemed to be served with cubed potatoes (frozen perhaps?) and fairly tasteless white rice.
Ambience: Tight, close tables, very loud ambience.
Perhaps the owner is taking advantage of the fact that Lexington Avenue above 86th Street is essentially a culinary wasteland, leaving locals little choice, but they will not see me again, nor anyone else who asks.
Lovely citrus salad
The lamb shank at the next table looked amazing
