I hadn't realized Pergola was a hookah bar when I made the reservation. If you don't like to be around smoke, this is not an ideal spot. But the service was very good and we all enjoyed our food (lamb burgers, seafood with pasta and the chicken kebabs). The doughnuts for dessert were also really tasty. I do think the prices were a little high. Overall, we had a fun night.
I met friends for lunch, and chose Pergola based on reviews I read. I was disappointed in many ways..
The music was loud and with an unpleasant sound system. The decor was quite dingy and old-fashioned, and there was a slightly unpleasant odor. My friend had the salmon, which was quite nice, and my other friend had salad, which was okay. I ordered the falafel which was over cooked and dry without any of the usual toppings. Our waitress was quite pleasant and comped my order, which I appreciated. Buy I would not go back to this restaurant given the many other options that are much better. I felt bad about bringing my friends there...although their dishes were much better than mine.
Great food and nice place, but was forced to pay 20% tip ? for the party of two people? Why?
It's nowhere on website that there is a default charge of 20%
Food was excellent but the pounding 80s music was way too loud for our group.
Hands down, my best night in NYC during my weekend visit! The atmosphere, food, music, and drinks were all amazing! I will recommend this place to everyone, and without a doubt, be returning myself. I definitely recommend the Pergola Nights hookah!! You cannot visit NYC without seeing Pergola as well!!
The hookah smell was very overpowering, and the service was slow, but the food was amazing
Told them it was my husband's birthday and they sat us right beside the door 👎
Dirty, poor service, felt like a restaurant in Eastern Europe, they include a 20% gratuity which is strange for a table for two in a New York restaurant that is not a hotel. Not sure if this reflects more on the owners or the customers. Wouldn’t go back.
Went here for an early lunch with good friends - the food was very tasty and nice selection, but found that some of the menu item descriptions were not true to the wording. One friend was rather disappointed. They have a full bar but don't have bloody marys at 11:30? Very yummy housemade hummus, lamb sliders, salads. There was also a very large take-out clientele that we were not aware of so many people were coming and going. Would not recommend for privacy or good conversation meal. Overall, food was very delicious.
The server is really rude. She shouldn’t be in a hospitality business with this kind of attitude. I ordered a bottle of Prosecco with her and waited for a really long time. The table next to us got their drinks right away and drinking it almost done with their first round. I asked her nicely to check on the bottle and she said “ We’re busy, when it’s ready I’ll bring it with an attitude” other staffs were nice but server wasn’t. She ruined my night with friends so we decided to go to another place after finishing a bottle a few appetizers and hookah. Overall, I would not return to this place.
The 2 hour table limit is a turn off. So are the haughty hostesses.
The service a bit slow and not too helpful but the food is good. Many healthy choices
GREAT!!! Everything is always great!
Good evening out. Great food and good sheesha. I'd definitely recommend.
Bad service was rushed
Had an amazing Valentines Day dinner here! Food was delicious and the music was on point! Great spot for good drinks, hookah and food!
Hookah is good and so is the food
Visited there on Valentines day and upon arriving, they promptly took us to our reserved table. The host was very polite and told us upfront that since it's a busy day, they have a 2 hour limit for the table. I see how some people might get offended by that but she communicated it very politely and professionally and I had no issues with it. You have to understand that it is one the busiest business night for them and they want to accommodate as many couples as they can.
It was my first time there and I liked the interior and ambiance. We were at the lower level so I don't know how the upper deck is. We started off with drinks and Hookah. My wife loved the "Bright Lotus" cocktail and "Orange Mint" hookah. The food was prepared fresh so it took sometime to get served but we didn't mind the wait as the food was excellent. I highly recommend the "Tatziski" appetizer !
My wife and I both enjoyed our time there and we'll definitely visit again!
If you’re looking for a nice place w good food this place is for you. If you’re looking for a nice place w good food and good service this place isn’t for you.
It was my first experience and I would definitely go back to try other menu options. I’ll encourage my friends/associates to share the experience also.
I never go back to this place again
Pergola is such a cool place. Good place to catch up, food is good, hookah is on point
If you’re looking for Great Food and Hookah; this is the place to be. I’ve been several times and had my birthday dinner here and they never disappoint.
Food was nothing special, but it was a fun place and had great music
it's all about the hookah. food is overpriced & greasy. lamb was overdone. not worth the price.
I live pergola ! I’m always here every week ! love it and I’m so happy with everything about Pergola !!
Cute little spot. Ambiance is amazing. Food pretty good, but pricy for what it was.
Great food, best hookah spot in midtown. Solid lunch spot.
I booked it on open table for Xmas day lunch and it was closed when I reached there.
Was not open. Disappointed
Good food with a clubby atmosphere. Enjoyed every minute!
noisy beyond belief--- crowd rude and loud--- could not talk to waiter or to guest.
Never got to food because waiter could not hear us. Music was for those who are already brain dead. Pretenders there to think they were in the Middle East smoking drugs. Not for anyone who cares where they eat dinner.
The food was wonderful. Did not know until arriving that it is a Hooka bar but the smoke in the air is sweet. The food was outstanding take on eastern Mediterranean. Great Mezza and good entres too.
Took a long time for the servers to get to us. Slow service. Too loud and okay food
The food was amazing & so was the hookah. Our waitress noticed it was my birthday and brought a sparkly out with our dessert for me! Tip was already included in the bill which makes some waiters think they deserve it and don't care for it however the servers here really understand customer service. The manager came to check on us as well. I have been going to this place for years now and have introduced a lot of my friends, thankfully it's always been a good experience.
The grilled octopus and homemade hummus with pita chips are delicious!
When I booked this place I thought it would be a quick bite to eat before going to a game at MSG. When we get there we were happily surprised it was also a hookah bar and it was such a fun and unique experience. Food was delicious too.
i was pleased and had a great time with good food. the beer was flat, and Stella isnt flat.
service could be more present, aware of
customer needs.
the leather benches are in bad condition
upstairs, many wholes in the leather
like the place a lot anyway
Pergola was located near to our hotel so we booked a table for Sunday evening, expecting it might be quite quiet. Far from it - it was as busy as any evening with people enjoying a meal out with friends. We shared a number of smaller plates which provided plenty of tasty food (highly recommend the meatballs). The only surprise was the number of people smoking hookah pipes - we hadn't been expecting to be in a smokey environment but apart from the initial surprise it didn't cause much bother.
Good Food...you can't go wrong if like Mediterranean food.
