What Insiders Are Saying
One of the original rooftop bars in DTLA, Perch has a French-leaning menu and views for days. Put it on your list for your next downtown date.
Fabulous roof top bar with good service. Drinks were tasty and the restaurant was excellent. Brussels sprouts outstanding, bouillabaisse excellent, steak frites very tasty. A wonderful LA experience. No complaints.
Terry Shusta is best waiter ever
I’m so indebted to the staff who made our birthday celebration magical.
Great views of downtown Los Angeles. We went at 10:30pm after a performance at the Disney Hall. Fairly close walk and we were pleasantly surprised by this trendy hip night spot for a late night supper or snack and a night cap or two.
We were sat in the outdoor patio area in front of a fire place. The seating was exceptional since our seats were in the corner area of the patio, with a nice warm fireplace, and a spectacular view from this 13th floor Perch.
The drinks were also exceptional. My date had a My Fair Lady martini and I had a skinny margarita. Both drinks were great. We also enjoyed the light supper and the food and salad were exceptional
A unique and fine place for dinner. The best in this neighborhood.
I was all excited when I saw the photos online. As usual pictures are deceiving. The restaurant is on the 15th floor, and it is surrounded by 20 Floors plus buildings, so really, it is not a rooftop view. You will be looking over some equipment’s and construction going around.
Seating is crammed, you can hear everyone conversation around you.
Food, happy hour menu is OK. Dinner plate was terrible, we did not really enjoy a $38 plate for a rubber hard steak and some fries, what a joke.
After all we wanted to get a drink at the roof top, the 2 best corner seating were reserved for a special event. No else where to sit or even stand, we were standing in front of the restroom, since that was the only spot available to stand.
Terrible experience, but the servers were nice, wow, at least something positive, they deserved 4 stars for the service part, and nothing else deserves more than one star.
Thank you for ruining our evening!!
Late dining. Remote table very quiet. Hostess and main server was very nice.the other servers (plate carriers) need training. Food was very good.
Delicious food and great service. Rooftop dining with incomparable views.
Everything was great except bar tender upstairs was very rude. We spent a lot of money to get that kind of service.
We loved the romantic feel of it all.
The food was delicious and presented beautifully. The rooftop bar was breathtaking!
I have been here many times, but only for drinks. This time was date night with my girlfriend. The view and the ambiance was great as usual. So were the cocktails. The live music was perfect; romantic and mellow but with some energy. Our server was very friendly and attentive, but not too nosy. The good was great too. We ordered the octopus to start and then the gnocchi and the scallops. Everything was delicious. The servings were decent sized, but I also think we ordered some of the smaller dishes. I saw some pretty hefty plates being served to other tables. The white chocolate bread pudding was to die for.
Birthday celebration. My friend was very happy and I was pleased.
Love this place for outdoor dining. With spectacular view of the city at the best seat in the house! Great food selections too. Will come back here on another special occasion like our wedding anniversary.
I brought a couple friends here for brunch - neither had been to Perch before. They were very impressed with the atmosphere. It was all our first time eating there, and we were pleasantly surprised. I got the french toast for brunch which everyone raves about.
Brunch was amazing at Perch
A stellar brunch: great food, great service, sangria with rooftop ambiance.
I had been looking forward to have breakfast at the perch and I was very disappointed. The coffee was cold, our food was cold when it came out. My French toast was undercooked... Overall the experience ruined my morning.
We had an overall great experience, food and service we have no complaints the only down fall was when were were trying to go up stairs to the bar being that we had a reservation i didnt feel it was fair that we had to wait in the line so because of that ridiculous line and people cuting in front of us we had to cut our date short and decided to leave. We just think it would make more sense to have the guest with reservations have access to the bar without having to wait in the ridiculous line.
Everyone at Perch LA was great! They made sure to say Happy Birthday to us and the atmosphere, drinks and food were amazing! Thank you Perch LA!
We had a table out on the deck, and the view was magnificent. The service was excellent. The food was good, and the overall experience superb. Would particularly recommend Perch to the younger crowd--a happening place!
The food is always amazing, the staff are courteous and witty, seating is simple, comfortable while at the same time elegant, breathtaking views, the patrons are diverse mix of ages, races and lifestyles creating an upscale, sophisticated, artsy atmosphere.
I love Perch! My sister and I go here every year for each others birthday. For brunch I highly recommend the crab cakes or steak frites. The truffle fries are to die for!!!
Perch is a lovely place to kill time at any time in LA. The view is priceless! Atmosphere always has a good vibe to it.
I took my boyfriend for his bday. The food was amazing, the service was great. I wish the lounge was a bit bigger there was no where to sit, other than that I was a great experience.
Father’s Day celebration with my family..
We decided to come to celebrate our anniversary here since we had heard so much about it. We’re from out of town so we knew we had to make a reservation, luckily we found one right before sunset at 6:45pm. We were running late and called to notify and were advised we’d probably have to wait a little longer but they’d accommodate us. Within 5 min of arriving they had our table. We had cocktails, the steak frites and Mac and cheese, and it was sooo amazing. The waiter provided excellent service and even brought us a little dessert on the House. We got to watch the sunset, laugh, and enjoy the view. Loved perch !
We loved the food and the view, it was lovely! And the rooftop bar was very nice for drinks after our dinner!
Best customer service in town thanks to all the Perch stuff members..
Food and service were great! Also appreciate the staff accommodating our request for a table change. We were there for a biz dinner and were initially seated right by the band. Thank you for the table change, it was appreciated!
I simply love rooftop Restaurants and especially Perch LA and its French cuisine!
I enjoyed the food but it would be nice if you offered non-alcoholic drinks. The waiter had joked with me that I should drink which I did not appreciate because I have an allergy to alcohol it would have been nice if he would keep his jokes to himself. Also, why ask if I was having a birthday during the reservation process if the staff does nothing for birthdays? I had to remind my waiter it was my birthday. For the amount of money it cost to eat there I would have appreciated a birthday greeting without asking.
Went to dinner with a friend... The meal and service was great! Would recommend.
Great service, nice seating
Excellent dating places to go.highly recommend.service is 5 Star.
The place is lovely with an amazing view of Down Town LA. Try to go late afternoon or at night since the sun hits the restaurant straight forward and if you are giving a table outside it’s a nice outlook but very hot especially in the summer.
Came here for Sunday brunch and we were very impressed with both the food and atmosphere! The server was attentive, the view and ambience was amazing, and the food was delicious! Would definitely come back next time we're in town :)
Brought my wife for Sunday Brunch. Opened up with Ahi sashimi and the Baked Brie. Both were worth getting again. She has the shrimp scampi which was a sizable portion and very good. I had the steak frites. The steak was very tender and tasty for the type of cut. The fries were skinny fries which I prefer drizzled with some type of white sauce. They paired with the steak pretty well.
This was my first time at Perch LA for brunch and it was a wonderful experience. Their was a live band and the scenic view is wonderful. The food was good but the sangria needed major improvement; we had half a pitcher left; shared French toast (delicious), two egg and chicken w/potatoes (salt and paper not really required);. I would like to try this place out in the evening to see how the city looks and the atmosphere itself.
Worth going for the view, the food (brunch) was subpar. Food all came out too quick making it hard to enjoy the atmosphere.
The staff went out of their way to provide excellent service! We arrived a little before our reservation and waited at the bar. The table wasn't available for 20mins past when our reservation was made, still, we didn't mind waiting-the atmosphere was great! When we were seated the staff was very gracious and actually brought us a glass of champaign for waiting. We could not have been happier with the food, service, drinks and overall ambiance. Highly recommend!
