What Insiders Are Saying
One of the original rooftop bars in DTLA, Perch has a French-leaning menu and views for days. Put it on your list for your next downtown date.
View was beautiful, came here for a nice Sunday dinner at a place that stayed open late. All the workers are friendly and funny. Second best view, i would rate 71 and above a bit better
Overall the experience at the Perch was a very good one. The ambiance was great, the service was great as well, the server gave you time to look through everything and the service was fast as well.
We came here to celebrate our daughter's 25th b-day. We initially planned to go to the Little Door, but decided to go for a little noise, airy / open, live music, eclectic and nice view. The view and atmosphere is great, since I am an avid cook and have traveled to France I am not very impressed with the food, it is not bad but average, we did enjoy the octopus and drinks. However, the service is outstanding (Waiter, server, busboy) and the Manager came over for a chat and offered us complimentary champagne for my daughter's b-day. We enjoyed the live entertainment and stayed a bit for a couple of drinks, good overall experience, the only flaw is that we found the hostess standoffish.
Fine dining at it’s outdoor best! Great meal in a great atmosphere. Sitting on the patio with views around LA is awesome. The mussels appetizer is outstanding. The steak frites was excellent and perfectly cooked. Both the Brussels sprouts and cauliflower sides were also outstanding. Service was very attentive but not at all intrusive. Overall, a wonderful pre-theater dinner.
Good service. Ambiance was just right.
The cocktail lounge just didn’t have enough shading and sitting/table cocktail
Did a Birthday brunch with me and my best friend. Excellent service and my French Toast was probably the best I’ve had thus far from any restaurant. Definitely would go back for brunch. I’ve been to Perch for dinner (which is really good too) and just cocktails love it. And it’s reasonably priced.
Marcus was the best server. He was extremely helpful and attentive. He truly took care of us. It was evident that he loves what he does.
Great atmosphere, great food, unique location, all for relatively nice prices
Great food, great ambiance, great view, great crowd!
Loved it!! Nice ambiance and staff were attentive and friendly.
We will be recommending your facility to ALL our friends and family. the manager Brett gave us the best service possible along side Jade who was our server. We will definitely be back again next time we are in the LA area.
I had been hearing about this place for a couple years and finally went to check it out with my boyfriend. It was even better than we had expected. Loved everything about the place.
Food and service was bad!
I do not recommend perch to any friend because i was disappointed. Food was cold and the quality of food was not good compared to the value.
We were promised a table with a view, instead we got a table behind a tree so the view was covered.
Great experience overall. Except for the bartender at the upper bar. Really rude. We had a conversation with the manager and the head of security about his behavior. We would have stayed longer but because of this rude bartender we left earlier. They should change him.
Outstanding view though became chilly later into the evening.
Garden like beautiful surroundings on top of the Gorgeous Pershing Square building downtown. Food is good but not outstanding. Very extensive and interesting cocktail menu. Service is a little slow despite an early dinner time. But the staff is pleasant. The rooftop bar is beautiful but it is a zoo, packed all the time. Come very early or very late. Otherwise don’t come.
I went to Perch to celebrate a friends birthday. We were looking for a more upscale place so we were actually pleased there was a dress code. It wasn’t enforced consistently, but whatever. My only complaint was with my meal. I got the chicken supreme and to my dismay, the chicken was incredibly dry-not something I would expect from this establishment. I wanted to send it back, but it took forever before we saw our waiter again. The only saving grace was that once we did see him, the mistake was rectified quickly. The second chicken was better, but still a bit dry. I didn’t have the energy or patience to try and get it right the third time. Ambiance was amazing. The rest of our meal was wonderful. The ahi tuna tartare was amazing, as was our desert. I would visit again, I just wouldn’t get the chicken.
I went to Perch Tuesday night for my 21st birthday. The employees were incredibly friendly and really made me feel special. As if the food quality and the ambience wasn’t enough to impress me, everyone went above and beyond to make my night special. Will definitely be back soon!
Afternoons in downtown LA are very windy. So, unfortunately, it makes early evening dinners on the beautiful terrace a little unpleasant.
Because it's such a cool location with good food, it's also very touristy. So, I'd recommend it to folks who've got out-of-town visitors. (That's why we went:-) They'll be impressed!
Classy rooftop and restaurant in downtown LA.
Ordered the steak frites and fries. The cut of meat was tender and well cooked but lacked seasoning. Fries were quite cold by the time they got to the table.
My husband & I have dined here before but we decided to bring our young children (2yo & 4mo) for dinner on Father Day. It was lovely, our food came out quickly, it was delicious as usual. The other diners had polite smiles on their face as my son yelled “helicopter” towards the LAPD helicopter several times. Even though service was fast, we didn’t feel rushed & enjoyed the space & people.
We came here for Father’s Day brunch and it could not have been better! The patio is lovely, the food is always so great, the drinks are one of my favorites, and the service was fantastic and they were all super friendly! Definitely recommend
Great view from almost any table...I would recommend asking for a table next to the glass railing .
We had brunch and the omelettes were good... although the kitchen forgot to add the mushrooms and cheese to my omelette so the waiter took it back and I was OK Wonderful waiter David wonderful waiter David B. Because of the makes up with the omelette, David poured us both a complementary glass of champagne ,...very nice customer service!
Fun to celebrate a special occasion there... we went on Sunday afternoon and they had a nice little trio playing music .
Food was good and price was reasonable , waiters were nice and food came out good . Hostess had a very rude tone and looked like she didnt want to be there at all and it was kind of noisy , but other than that it was good . View was nice as well.
We didn’t get the table we wanted. I requested a table near the glass wall and wasn’t provided with it.
Perch is one of my favorite restaurants. The food was fantastic and our waiter Ness was fantastic!
Initially I had only been to the rooftop bar in the evening. But I decided to take my girlfriend to brunch and celebrate her recent graduation. Our server was very attentive and allowed for a relaxing experience. After brunch we went upstairs to the rooftop bar and enjoyed another relaxing hour with a great view. Definitely planning to return for an evening meal and drink upstairs.
Amazing! The food was great and the vibe was perfect.
Amazing delicious French toast. Beautiful view of Downtown Los Angeles.
Came here for a date night and everything about it was amazing. Our host and server were tentative and friendly. The food was pricey, but you are getting great quality so it’s worth it.
Super crowded but that’s the scene you should be looking for if you want to eat here. Amazing views. Amazing live music. Food was incredible. Expect to pay, but it’s worth every cent.
Friend was visiting
It’s a really nice place. Food was good but a bit overpriced. Loved everything including the service
The manager/host Alessandro made this celebration extra special. He took our photos, and even provided complimentary champagne! Amazing food, service, and aesthetic
Live Jazz on the patio!! Wow , excellent music accompanied by good ambiance and food. French onion soup to die for, and steak frites!!! We can’t wait to go again. Make a reservation!!!
This a lovely place and I’ve been coming here for a while. The food is uneven though with the steak sometimes perfect and other time over cooked. It also be nice if the menu changed a little more often. They could get rid of the Gnocchi and the rabbit ravioli is getting tired. This last time a female guest threw food and hit me in the back. She thought it was funny. I couldn’t find our waiter to complain. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Ambience, location, the views and just about everything else about this place is perfect for a night out in LA.
