Perch LA Ratings and Reviews
It was my first time at Perch LA. My friends were in town and we decided to make reservations a few days before because we heard so many great things. Our reservation was at 9:15 but we were afraid we were going to be running late so I called and let them know and they said hold the reservation for an extra 15 minutes. Upon arrival, the doorman, security, were all very nice. The lady at the front desk seated us right away. We got the BEST table in the house. It was outside, on the corner, by the glass wall. The view of downtown was BREATH TAKING from our seats. Our food was PHENOMENAL! We had such an attentive waitress (Marissa) who gave us great recommendations. Everything was delicious, we inhaled everything (haha) and to top it off, the live band they had was awesome! They sang/played 90s R&b (my type of music) and the whole experience was everything!!! Thank you!
My overall opinion after eating here was the place was really nice. The food was very good. The atmosphere of being on a rooftop at night in LA is amazing. The drinks were kind of pricey but the Writers Block is one of the best cocktails I’ve had in a while. The Bacon MAC and Cheese is to die for and so is the truffle cheese fries. The drawback of this place is it is VERY loud, because it is a hot spot. So if you’re looking for that, you’ve found it here. And while our server was nice overall and definitely didn’t screw our order up or anything, he didn’t feel very attentive. It’d take a while to get a refill. He forgot my extra side of ketchup that I just decided to let go. There wasn’t anything bad per se, just not anything great to say omg wow. In fact, that was the whole place for me. Nothing bad, would definitely come back; but nothing amazing either. Just ok.
The view is great, but the food is not on the same level as the view. Overpriced for what you actually get. I mean I would pay $12 for a pork belly if it wasn’t just a square, and that’s literally all on the plate. Overall, up your food game. It’s not calling me to come back. Secondly, tables are waaaay to close!
My boyfriend and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary here this past Saturday. We both recently turned 21 and it was a very brand new scene for us. The food and view was amazing, definitely worth it but pricey. An amazing experience and we'll definitely be back. I recommend you make dinner reservations at least 1-2 weeks ahead of time! The line gets long, and give yourself extra time to get there early because your reservation will get cancelled after 15 mins.
I went to the Perch for the first time, finally. I was recommended this restaurant and it is just as I imagined and more. The service was great the ambience was awesome the views were gorgeous, our friends brunch couldn't have been any more beautiful. I look forward to dining for future and special occasions. I can't wait to return to enjoy the music, drinks, and sweet views at night.
We happened to find this restaurant because we were looking for something local in downtown LA, close to the Westin Bonaventure. What a surprise! Found on the 15th floor of a building, you transfer elevators on the 13th floor. It has a very exclusive feel. When the elevator opens on the 15th floor, we found it to be incredibly busy and crowded. It was clear that this was THE place to be. We were quickly sat a few minutes after our reservation time - outside on the rooftop, next to an open fireplace. What amazing views on a clear night. The service was attentive . We ordered several sides - the mushroom risotto, cauliflower, and truffle fries. Each had a fantastic taste. The gnocchi was very good. Portion sizes were perfect, and the price was spot on. An excellent selection.
Valet parking was fast and easy, server was great at first, but almost seemed like he forgot about us after we got our food. Finished my beer and I had to wait about 20min. For him to come to the table, and took about another 10min to bring a refill. Food was great, steak was perfectly cooked, no complaints on food. Will be coming back, just hope the server has better service.
Amazing ambiance. Everyone having great conversation and enjoying the moment. Food was very good. I would suggest getting reseevations. I was able to book a reservation for 6:30 @ 4pm the same day but things were just heating up at that time. As we left (8:15 pm) it was much busier and getting quite lively. Great place to just have drinks with friend or significant other or for dinner. It lived up to the hype I had read about.
Had an incredible birthday dinner here. Great service, unbeatable ambiance and the waitress even got us a special little dessert with candle to celebrate my birthday. Highly recommend for dates or special dinners. Delicious food!!
Service was great once we got to our table, bar was a little dry and was as though they couldn’t wait to be off, should be more friendly! The view was amazing food just as great and the live music was a nice touch with defenitly be back for dinner again soon!
Perch LA was a great choice for my wife and mother in laws birthday. The atmosphere was great, the food was good, and the view was nice. Pictures were a must by my daughter and wife. Overall great place to go and would go again. They even had live music that we sat for.
We were a party of 7, so I made a reservation three weeks in advance. We were celebrating my boyfriend's birthday, so I requested a window at the patio with a view.
When the waiter showed us our table I was beyond disappointed. They gave us the only table without a view, hidden in a corner of the restaurant. The table was surrounded by different kinds of plants, so small leafs fell on our table constantly. We had to cover all our water glasses to avoid having a leaf land in the water or the food. Overall, it wasn't a good experience. The food is average, and our service wasn't that good. Definitely will think twice before coming back to this place.
This place was a bit overrated to me. The views were nice but the food, not so much. I ordered the shrimp pasta and it was horribly bland. The drinks were pretty good. A bit Too loud. Not my cup of tea. Probably won’t go back. But I must say, the hostesses and waiters were super nice and they did seat us pretty quickly.
Heard about Perch LA from a friend, & I was definitely impressed. I booked a reservation for a birthday dinner a few weeks in advance. Even though we arrived on time for the reservation, we still had to wait ~15-20 minutes for our table to be ready. The ambiance of the restaurant was beautiful & lively. Great views of the city at night. They had live music playing as well. I'll definitely be back.
The staff was courteous, warm, and professional throughout or visit- everyone from the elevator doorman, the hostess, our server, and the busmen. It began to drizzle on the patio during our breakfast; the staff immediately asked us if we would like to move our seats- we declined and they began to close the patio cover. It was a pleasant view despite the cloudy skies. Whether you're having an anniversary dinner, having a night on the town, brunch with your parents, Perch is the perfect place.
It was my first time at this restaurant. I heard good reviews for a while, but nothing is like being there. The patio bar scene is great, the band was Excelent and despite the misty weather we decided to sit outside and it was wonderful, and the food was delicious . I recommend this place for special occasions, girls night out and such.
After being seated at 7:30, we were told that we must be gone by 9:00. It was our son's 19th birthday and the place is 21 and over starting at that time. Nobody mentioned this when I was booking our reservation. If the food had been good, the rush wouldn't have been a big deal. We ordered drinks, apps, salads and entrees . Everything was mediocre at best. Seriously, I don't think the cooks taste anything before sending it out. With the tip our bill was over $400. At 8:50, while finishing our drinks and the icecream they had JUST given our son, they were literally pushing us out the door
The restaurant was amazing, drinks, food, location. Service was not so great. Was ignored for the first ten minutes and then never was attended to after our first drink for another 30 minutes but the place was so nice and great sight seeing. Would totally come back but the service needs to be better!!
