Perch LA Ratings and Reviews
This was our second time there . We had a great experience the first time but the second time not so great . Steak frites was tough and fatty . Filet was chewy and potatoes were cold .really nice waitress but service was spotty. Caesar salad was wet and had too much shaved cheese . Wine list was mediocre and no one knew anything about the selections . Ambience and energy and view are great but their food needs a substantial upgrade . They are coasting because they draw people in for the views.
It was my first time here and the dining experience lived up to it's full potential!
Seating was a litte uncomfortable considering how closely we were sat next to other tables. It was awkward getting to my seat. However, the food was delicious and worth every penny! It was my boyfriends birthday and he was so happy I took him to the Perch. Our server London was really sweet! I would definitely recommend dining here even for an afternoon lunch. The live music was so beautiful and helped made it a very romantic setting. I loved my experience.
Our group was celebrating a birthday and we had a wonderful time! We dined downstairs and then went to the rooftop afterwards. The views of DTLA are incredible! Happy hour is great! And they brought out birthday dessert. We found it odd that we didn’t have one waitress, but multiple staff came to our table. Seemed like a different person each time. Other than that, the experience was great. Amazing atmosphere.
Thank you Madeline for the amazing service! This place was perfect for the occasion, which was for my mom’s 50th birthday. The whole family enjoyed the experience and the table we received with the best view of the city. I would definitely recommend to anyone.
Beautiful ambiance but it took almost one hour to get our entrees! We were given free desserts as an apology for the delay in getting fed... but truthfully after a long day of meetings with our business associates, no one appreciated a one hour delay to be fed.
We were extremely disappointed. Place has changed and gone down since the last visit. Experience getting there was challenging. Changing elevators, not much direction. Decor was mediocre. The female bartender upstairs had a bad, arrogant attitude. Martini’s weren’t tasty. When it came to dinner, the food was mainstream, nothing special, quality was subpar. Wine list was very limited for a French restaurant. The best aspect was the rooftop view + fire pit.
My first time to Perch. Service and food were outstanding- really. Main course sent back twice which is super unusual for a restaurant of this caliber and the staff handled it with grace. Really, I have never felt so good about having to send a dish back to the kitchen. Let's face it, stuff happens even in outstanding restaurants and the outcome is all about how things are handled. Bravo Perch!
The meal was truly outstanding and I will be back for sure. I recommend this little gem hidden up on floor 15- worth it in every way.
We went to celebrate our anniversary. We walked in and liked that . A band was playing, cool scenery, and fancy food. But didn't like how close the tables were to each other. Couldn't "sit next" to my bf, until we asked if we could move the chairs. We had a cool server until he was either off or moved stations, but he came back only 1 time to check on us. A manager got us our second round of drinks. The new server didn't check on us either, only when she dropped off the Check.
We thought it would be awesome to go somewhere far and different... and it was. Just didn't appreciate the server incident.
Way too crowded and a pain to get to. There are two elevators you have to ride and there’s even a line to leave. We had dinner reservations at 7pm and they told us to go upstairs to the bar and they would text us when our table was ready even though we had reservations. The bar upstairs is small and had two bartenders with long lines. Food was good but still pricey. Overall “upscale” but there’s definitely better options in LA
We choose it to have a friends get together/Birthday and it was all we expected to be and more. The waiters Malia was just as lovely and efficient and the good was great, we heard they have the best French fries out of France and we agreed. We are already planing our next event there. Thanks!
This is the first time I️ have had a bad experience at Perch, the service was awful. We never got our appetizers, we asked once our food actually came and they apologized and they brought it after. My friend asked for something to go with her meal and they brought it once she was done eating. I️ never got a refill or was even asked for one. We went on a Thursday so it wasn’t super busy.
First time here with my gf for our anniversary, it was a pleasant experience. A little crowded and over whelming at first but there are guards to guide you every step of the way. Asked for a seat with a great view and they delivered! Definitely would come back. Moderately priced and it was fun dressing up!
Came here after The Broad and before Walt Disney Concert Hall. VERY convenient. In the best way possible, dining here felt like we were far away from home and experiencing a different LA than the one we live in. The food was tasty (Mushroom Risotto and Steak Frites were real stand-outs) and the Happy Hour selections were fun. (Who doesn't love to splash a liqueur into their bubbly for $6??) Cannot wait for an excuse to go back!
We went for my brothers birthday and it was a fun night. Sat outside with heat lamps and a band which was a very lively instrumental band.
The food was so delicious. Brussel sprouts are a must as well as the poutine.
Drinks were great. Overall fabulous experience.
We had a lovely Sunday evening dinner outside on 13th floor overlooking downtown. View was wonderful - awesome, romantic, yet had a neighborhood feel. Service was prompt; they even gave us shawls if we requested them. We thought the food very good - especially the the onion soup, salmon, and scallops. The band and singer began as we were finishing. We thought when they started we would not be able to hear, but the music and voice level were perfect, and they were very good. Even the valet was very courteous.
Took my partner to The Perch for his birthday after hearing it was a place to check out. The bar on the 16th floor is definitely a scene and we were there on a Sunday evening. The view is okay, but not spectacular. The bar on 16 appeared to serve only top notch liquor, which was evident in the price of a martini and glass of wine, which was $28. Our text message informing us our table was ready came 5 minutes after our reservation. The menu is somewhat limited, but you come for the drinks and view and scene. For dinner, my partner order pork belly as an appetizer and steak frites. I️ had the mussels as an appetizer and the steak frites as well. He enjoyed the entire meal. I️ thought the mussels were good, but I’ve had much better. We both agreed the frites were some of the best we’ve had outside of France. They must have doubled fried them because they had a nice crisp to them, unlike most fries served. We’d consider going back. As for a dress code which there website notes, we didn’t see one. Most people were in jeans and guys wearing sneakers and shorts. I️ asked the hostess and she said, it’s Sunday and people just want to be casual so the code is not strictly enforced.
This is a very unique mexican/spanish restaurant. Rather than being heavy on rice, beans, and red meat. It instead used almost exclusively fish, cooked in a variety of mediums, served many different ways to create really fantastic flavors. Some of which I couldn't even understand how they were created. It also leaves you feeling less heavy after a typical Mexican meal. Portions are reasonable, but still small plates style for appetizers. For 2 we ordered 4 appetizers two mains and a dessert. We couldn't finish about 1 appetizer, 1/4 of each main and only half of dessert. Not because it wasn't good, but because we were full.
Came here for my 21st wedding anniversary was welcomed with the question “WHERE IS YOUR PARTY OF TWO” as my wife was standing next to me. Didn’t expect to placed hip to hip to with other guests but that was my fault for investigating the restaurant better on my end. it is a small place so it is what it is. Food was good only wish I was aware of all of the off the menu items like the other servers where offering other guests as our server neglected to offer any of them to us.
Good place for a pre clubbing dinner but would not recommend it for a special occasion like I was celebrating.
