What Insiders Are Saying
One of the original rooftop bars in DTLA, Perch has a French-leaning menu and views for days. Put it on your list for your next downtown date.
It was first time going there. it definitely exceed my expectations. i will be returning very soon.
Great Spot with spectacular views! the food is excellent.
Great view and atmosphere. Food was delirious and fast service
Excellent service. The ambience was perfect and our dinner was amazing.
I would recommend Perch only for the ambience and downtown views... Very pretentious and dismissive hostesses. Waitress was great and very attentive. Started with appetizers and drinks. Ordered whiskey sour, plain as can be, no egg white and not even one cherry on top. Baked brie was yummy, but tiny. Tuna tartare was excellent. Dinner items, for the most part, were overpriced and nothing special. Had gnocci with pesto and shrimp. Gnocci were good but the shrimp wasn't even grilled and just thrown on. Also, ordered scallops and pea salad. Salad was overdressed and underseasoned and there were only 3 scallops for $34. Chocolate cake from Mrs. Fish was delish. Shelling out $300 on a less than exciting meal is not something I look forward to doing again.
There was confusion about our reservation and subsequent follow-up with Open Table.
As it was VERY loud we asked to be seated as far away form the noise as possible and we were.
We had a lovely wait person, London. Excellent. Amiable. Charming.
We both ordered the Perch burgers which were good but the fries just average. The view is lovely but the tables are fairly close together which made for a crowded experience.
We are in our 70s and I think this is a place primarily for the 40 and under set. Way too loud for us.
We did go up to the top floor which is an observation deck/bar. Mellow, lovely, GREAT unobstructed views.
It's a pity we don't drink as I would return for this floor.
Perhaps when we are entertaining out -of -towners.
Service was great! our table was ready, and we were seated immediately. Food was good, and great ambience for Saturday Lunch.
it was fabulous!
Great service and food. Wonderful ambiance. Atmosphere was excellent. Definitely coming back.
Loved the ambience and style. Very trendy. The staff was amazing. I went for brunch to celebrate my birthday, got a free drink and dessert :) FYI you won’t be seated until the whole party is there.
Food was good but the waitress had a very elitist attitude. We had to keep asking for water and reminding her of our appetizers
Our waiter was exceptional and should be given a raise and promotion.
I would recommend this place to my friends IF it was a special event. The food is great but the price of the cocktails was a little too high for the quality. Overall, a fun experience.
Great experience as always.
Excellent food and drink choices. Fantastic decor and very friendly and hospital staff.
Loved the ambience - great view of our city!
Food was good and the music set the mood for a great summer evening with friends.
Our server was not great. Very rushed, mediocre, and inattentive. The busser Miguel provided the real service.
Everything about the Perch was wonderful. The staff was a joy including Katrina our waitress and Alessandro the manager. The interior of the restaurant is gorgeous. The view is spectacular. The guests were friendly and pleasant. The food is very very good. The prices are reasonable. No complaints. Only complements. Hooray!!!
The only reason for the overall 4 stars is the direct sunlight during our meal. We had a 5:45 PM reservation. They tried lowering the vertical shade, but it’s clear and didn’t block the sun but also made it hotter because it blocked the cool evening breeze. The glare and intensity of the sun really detracted from an otherwise delectable meal. Call in for a reservation and request a shady table rather than doing it online where you have no choice.
I’m always in love with this place! The food, the drinks, the staff and ohh the live jazz band! Perfect convo all in all, an absolute class!
The ambiance And drinks were great but the food was below average.
Went to Perch for a an event, our 40th anniversary. Perch made it special.
Delicious food, great service, and relaxing ambiance! I will be returning for more and recommend this spot.
I had THE best brunch ever. Alexassandor and David serviced myself and the rest of my party with the best quality I’ve ever had!
Great for a tourist view of DTLA and check out the rooftop bar before dining!
great atmosphere and service and food were amazing!
Cute classic looking venue
Sat at the cutest outdoor round table in the corner and had the most gorgeous views!
Fantastic staff welcoming my Mother for her birthday! Great food great vibe
Already planning my next visit! Service was excellent by our server Nester! Food was amazing! Had a wonderful experience! Definitely going back.
Great view and restaurant design
Food is appetizing and delicious
Service is excellence - knowledgeable, welcoming, helpful
Music is great and very enjoyable
I can’t wait to return
Trip to LA with my BFF! Excellent place to go to if you want good food and drinks!
Loved it. Everything was perfect.
Great food. Great service. French toast is totally outstanding
The view and the service beats the subpar quality of food. A one of a kind venue with just the right mixture of old charm and vibrant new welcoming city .
We had our 4th of July dinner here. I must say, the atmosphere/view was great and servers friendly and professional. What really made last night special was the management staff... wow! Probably one of the most professional and caring restaurant management I have encountered in the US. They consistently followed up with us from the moment we walked in the door. They made sure that my girlfriend and I were taken care of and made us feel extremely valuable/special to them. Attention to detail was so important that even when the candle at our table went out, a staff member was there relighting it with an (unnecessary) apology.
We were sat at a perfect table near the fireplace with the best view of the fireworks of the night. Unfortunately about twenty other patrons gathered around us. They were elbow-to-elbow taking pictures and standing over us to watch the fireworks. This was very rude considering we (and the few other couples around us) had just received our entrees and made the reservations for that area. There’s nothing worse than a stranger standing over you as you are trying to enjoy a romantic dinner. Well... the staff here is so good that it wasn’t a problem. They asked all of the ignorant bystanders to please move away from our tables! This was really the game changer, as most other restaurants would not care to do this.
This place used to be my favorite but the past few visits have been subpar. It took 15 minutes for a server to ask for our drink order and the food was lacking. It will be months before I return.
Food took very long. Had reservations for 5 and got a tiny circle table. Waiters were nice. Took forever to get our check even though waiter was walking around us. Wouldn’t go back.
