One of the original rooftop bars in DTLA, Perch has a French-leaning menu and views for days. Put it on your list for your next downtown date.
We went to hear the jazz trio that was scheduled on the calendar and were sad to learn some other band was playing.
Been here several times. Great food and ambiance.
Really enjoyed this place! Food was great, good views. Service was ok, server was friendly but a little slow...but it was busy so not complaining!
Would go back definitely
We went to Perch for a late Mothers Day Celebration, prior to a concert at the Hollywood Bowl. The location and our table couldn’t have been better, we had the SW Corner of the patio seating literally Perched, right over Pershing Square where our Metro left after dinner. Food was fantastic, the service was good, and even though it was windy, the glass walls blocked the wind, but not any of the views! We loved it, very special place for dinner!!
Perch I have to admit, I probably stretched the rules of the house by having intially 7 guest for my friend's birthday, then 8, but if I went above that limit, it which would require my guests to be placed upon a limited prix fixe menu (which looked wonderful as well) if we went above that . . . which we did, ending up at 9 guests. But Perch was so beautifully accommodating to us to make my friends birthday so memorable for her & our guests (which included her Father & brother from Durango, Mexico on their last day visiting, which is not an easy task time wise since he is a very busy surgeon).
The restaurant allowed us to order from the regular menu (which may not have left the managment or the kitchen too happy, but they didn't let us feel that way). Wonderful wine selections, and appetizers, plus I enjoyed a very flavorful Mushroom Risotto & Med-rare Fillet.
I was pleasantly surprised to see a band performing on a Tuesday. It added to the atmosphere of watching the beautiful backdrop of the DTLA skyline, and the beautiful architecture of the rooftop itself. I work with The DTLA Film Festival, and it makes me proud to show off the many hidden gems within this historic city.
Although I already knew that Perch is a popular hangout, including the upstairs bar, I was still amazed how incredibly busy this venue was on a Tuesday (5/22) evening for a 9pm reservation. This speaks volumes to the level of the food, energy of a burgeoning downtown landscape, and the great service.
Our own server was always on point with the perfect amount of attentiveness toward service, but also allowing us enough room to breathe out the evening for natural conversation.
Finally, I was most satisfied with watching everyone have a great evening enjoying each others company, of which one of my guest made mention that this was the best birthday dinner that she had ever attended. Thank you EVERYONE at Perch, from the owners all the way through every team member on this special day.
Ive been there a few times and have always had a good experience . Friendly staff , good food and a lively and energetic vibe. This time didn’t disappoint. Would recommend eating outside really pretty dining area and good music.
Everything was AMAZING; from food, drinks, live music, scenic, and service. Perfect for a date and would reconsider anyone trying to enjoy downtown Los Angeles.
I came here for my Birthday brunch with family. Had a great window view seating and the food was great! The staff and hostess were very accomadating and cheerful. It was so much fun and great atmosphere and bloody mary's🎉🍷🍾🍹🥂
I had an amazing night for my Birthday! We had the best table by the edge of the building. The foods and drinks where amazing!!! The service was great too! Will defiantly come again.
The food was delicious I love their breakfast food! The mimosas are the best! My birthday was amazing here with my girlfriends. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. Overall, I have always had the best brunch experiences here.
My second visit to Perch and was not disappointed. Easy to get to, convenient valet parking, and kinda fun taking two elevators to reach the 15th floor. The menu is very appealing and the food presentation is very nice and generous. We enjoyed everything we ordered: baked brie for appetizer, eggs benedict, and the steak frites. Every bite was yummy. The atmosphere outdoors on the wrap-around landscaped terrace is energizing and calming all at once. It was very busy, but not so noisy that you couldn't have a table conversation at a normal talking volume. Service was superb once again--two times with DAVID now; he's the ultimate professional AND fun!!! I'll be back soon to introduce more friends and family to this jewel.
Had a great time at Perch this last Thursday. My college classmate was in town from Texas this week and we had dinner and drinks. It was a great time. He was blown away by the view. The food was amazing and the service made it all the better. We will definitely be back!
A hipster hang out place in downtown LA. For a Thursday night it was crowded and a happening place with live music. Food was okay, nothing to brag about. Wine list too was okay. Service was not great. So in summary this place is about location location location. Perched on top of a high rise with an outdoor patio and bar it's a great place to hangout. Don't expect to chat with your group, it can be pretty loud. I would recommend this place to grab a drink hang out and then go to another place.
Host was not so friendly. Overall it’s a nice place to get together with friends. Service needs to be improved. Both host and server.
Great place for a first date.
Overrated, full of posers. Staff very full of themselves.
We visited Perch LA for my boyfriend’s birthday. It seemed like a lot of people had Birthday dinner that day.
The restaurant was smaller than I thought, I mean each table was very tiny. It was a little chilly out that day, although they have heaters they didn’t do much.
Food wise, each portion is quite a big, I would say affordable for quantity wise but not quality wise. I felt something was missing from each plate. It wasn’t bad, it wasn’t good either.
Service was very good.
I would recommend Perch if you are looking for a place to drink with friends. But not recommended if you are looking for a decent food.
Great views/ambience/service. Disappointing food.
The food and location were great. The chair uncomfortable and it was chilly.
Always a great time very intimate, great food and the live band is great. The service is wonderful as well.
Perch is one of the best dining experiences Los Angeles has to offer.
Great service and food, perfect for Mother's Day. The drinks were great also!
We sat on the rooftop garden patio and had a great view of the city! The staff was so sweet! We had our 9 month old baby with us and they all took turns stopping by and chatting with him - he was in heaven, smiling away! Food was good and ambiance was wonderful!
10/10 one of my favorite places to take friends from out of town and to celebrate any occasion
My 2nd time here. The only issue i ran into is their lack of designated waiting area. They had me wait next to the couch, then had me move over by the bar entrance queue, then behind the receptionist area literally next to where the drinking glasses are.
I know its a busy night, but they need to improve on this. Its quite irritating to be asked to move several times over.
It was simply remarkable and the most amazing thing is that even though it is so beautiful and a bit noisy you get lost in its beauty so it drains it all out and you can enjoy your stay with amazing food and drinks to die for
The restaurant reminds me of a DTLA version of Catch, in a good way. Enjoyed everything, but really appreciated one of the managers (?), Sean, who went out of his way to make sure we were well taken care of and had an amazing time. Awesome restaurant.
We really enjoyed the food. My gf, being as picky as she is, didn’t really like the texture of the rabbit ravioli but overall everything else was awesome. I definitely recommend the baked Brie and the surf and turf skewers. They were nice starters for the main dishes. As for the entrees, I had the filet mignon and the salmon. Both were great tasting but the filet was beyond perfect. It literally melted in my mouth. At the end of the night, we had a chocolate dessert and it was a great little ending to the meal with its creamy, chocolatey, and salty flavor. The only downside was the fact that it was a little chilly and that our waiter, although seating us first and attending us first, started to serve the people who sat down after us before us. It seemed like it was because we were younger but I’m not sure. Overall, it was a really great experience and a great night.
Our waitress London was friendly, energetic, upbeat and good at her job!
But very disorganized! Forgot my reservation, twice! Then after an hour said I never checked in, when I had checked in an hour earlier, gave them my phone number and was waiting to be called to the table! Then got an email saying I never checked in!!! Loved the place, but please upgrade the staff!!!
Menu was a bit limited.
The Perch was the perfect choice to celebrate my daughter's 21st birthday! Since I didn't have a personal recommendation for a roof top restaurant, I searched online. I chose The Perch & kept my fingers crossed that I made the right choice. It certainly was! The food is absolutely delicious! We had surf n' turf skewers, French onion soup, baby beet salad, freshly baked bread, steak frites, pan roasted salmon, chicken supreme, bacon mac & cheese, chocolate pot de creme - we enjoyed every bite. The server was very pleasant & did a wonderful job.
The view of the city is spectacular! The ambiance was cozy & fun. The live music was a pleasant surprise, fit the mood & not too loud. Oh, can't forget the drinks. The drinks on the menu had a fun twist & were very good.
My daughter thanked me for choosing The Perch. It made her 21st birthday celebration very special & memorable. I highly recommend The Perch!
It was my 3rd time dining and now with a new set of long-time friends. It's the only place in mind to have a memorable dinner at and they loved the ambiance, food and the priceless LA skyline.
Marissa is a wonderful waiter! She took such good care of us, with her high, attentive energy, that we almost were able to ignore the LOUD, LOUD children's music coming from Pershing Square.
Lovely place, yummy food, needs more vegan option.
Very cool place. Great table on the outside patio near the fireplace. Live music was great. Food and ambiance was wonderful. The only negative was we had an 8 pm reservation that I reconfirmed in advance and we had a 35 minute wait for our table. I finally had to ask the host if he could offer to buy the previous guests (who were occupying our table for 30 minutes after they paid the bill) if he would offer to buy them a drink at the bar so we could finally sit down. Wines are fairly expensive so I would recommend bringing your own for a $20 uncorking fee
Amazing. Had possibly the best table in the house
I took my family and grandparents here for graduation dinner. The place was packed but service was great. Several managers checked on us through dinner and the food was excellent! Plus you can't beat the view.
An awesome dining experience, as usual!
Brought my mom here for mother’s day and she loved it! I did too, the food was excellent. The service was great too, we have no complaints.
