PeraBell Food Bar Ratings and Reviews
Wasn't our best visit to PeraBell. We were seated by one of the open doors. Got a bit cool as the evening went on and very noisy. This restaurant is noisy to begin with then add all the street noise...was not pleasant. I ordered the Chicken Milanese. Couldn't eat one of my pieces of chicken...tough and crunchy. And the prosciutto on both pieces was as crisp as well-done bacon. My husband's meal was fine.
Excellent service and choice of food. Close proximity to Patchogue theatre making it a great choice for before or after the show. Only issue is that because it was so crowded, the noise level was very high. Cannot hold a conversation without shouting. Otherwise--very pleased
The chopped salad and dressing was great and it was a nice portion to share with my husband. I was very disappointed in the white wine sangria...for $10 it should be served in a larger glass with way less ice. My french dip sandwich was very good, less fries would be better. My husband enjoyed his burger and he also said there was way too much fries. I was really looking forward to the short ribs dinner but it was not on the entree menu.
The food is very good at this popular and busy gastropub however, there was a problem with my reservation. They inadvertantly entered the reservation for their Riverhead location and this necessitated that we either sit at a hightop table next to the very noisy bar area or wait 25 minutes for a table. Due to time constraints, we were forced to take the table by the bar. This is unacceptable and the reason why service was rated as poor. I was also told by our server that this happens on a weekly basis which is inexcusable...this needs to be corrected and fast!
Food is always delicious at this restaurant but service was sub par. We were seated at 5:10 and although we placed our orders quickly we still were not served by 6. We only had our drinks- beer- served. We had no bread either. Since we didn't order a salad, appetizers prior to our entree we found that it was too long a wait for our entrees. We left at 6:50; we didn't order dessert either. I think that they were short staffed for the evening- they didn't anticipate a full restaurant on a Wednesday evening.
Pera Bell is our go to place in Patchogue. My in laws, who do not get out often because of medical limitations, always are excited when we take them to Pera Bell.
The ambience is always great, the service predictable, the menu fun and varied and the food quality excellent.
Really excellent service. We made a reservation but needed an earlier seating to make an 8pm show next door, we were accommodated quickly by the hostess and the wait-staff made sure we were out on time. Meal was excellent, great variety of choices for kids, grandparent, and everyone in-between. 3 kids and 2 adults ate a great dinner with apps and one bar drink for a little over $100.
Excellent food. Our party of 8 had the Po Boy, Burgers, Crab Cake Sandwich, Calamari, Empanadas, Asian Salad, and for dessert gelato, sorbet, and Creme Brûlée. EVERYTHING was delicious and our server, Ari, was funny, attentive, very personable and made our dining experience even better!! For dining before or after a show, or just for a day/night out, this is a wonderful spot!!
We always get a good meal at PeraBell, whether it's a burger, pasta or a seafood dinner. The service is always good. But it's a bit noisy. Our last time there was an Alive After Five evening in Patchogue so it was a little crazy. But we were seated right at our reservation time. Not a fan of the front big windows being open on a hot, humid evening...way too many flies buzzing around because of it.
used to be great' now just mediocre. messed up drink order, described fish special "swordfish-like" which it was NOTHING like, couldn't put an appetizer order in until we ordered main courses while we sat waiting for one member of our party to arrive, strip steak and rib eye excessive fat...just not a good experience this time out....we did make it to our 8pm show on-time. they need to step it up if they're going to keep up with all of the great restaurants in Patchogue. Disappointed.
I have been there before and choose it to meet friends for dinner. It wasn't that crowded but we waited a long time for someone to come acknowledge us at the table. We ordered drinks and the waitress came back to tell us they were out of our drink and only one of us could have one. The apps were good but my dinner special was not what was described very heavy on the cheese and did not even taste the sauce that was supposed to be on it. We ordered cappuccinos that were cold a band a chocolate molten cake which did not have anything much in the middle. All in all the company was great and the food disappointing. On top of all of that I get an email the next day saying they had cancelled my OpenTable reservation and I had to call OpenTable and try to prove I was there to get my points. OpenTable was great and did help out thanks to Mauricio.
Having heard good things, I was excited to try Perabell for a birthday dinner. 7/3/2017 we arrived at 7:00 for our 7:30 appointment and were told "that's not happening". I said it was perfectly understandable and glad to wait at the bar. . At 7:30 I asked again and were seated. There were several open tables.s We placed our order and the appetizer came quickly. 35- 40 minutes after they cleared the appetizer I flagged the waitress and asked about the entree. After another 20 minutes I asked again. She was apologetic and asked if we would like some bread which arrived after a little while the the food. The Wasabi encrusted tuna was well prepared but light on Wasabi. Two of us each ordered the seafood ravioli which was tasty but the portions were very small, maybe 5 ravioli. We were both disappointed and still hungry. The waitress was sweet and working hard. They were clearly understaffed. I asked for the check, signed it adding an ok tip and we left without seeing our waitress again. Overall we were disappointed. While I would like to try again, no one else in my family is so inclined.
