While we will add you to the top of our wait list with a reservation we do not reserve patio tables!
Paige the waitress was marvelous!!! food was very good, we had a nice area all to ourselves...
Our waiter was beyond outstanding. I didn’t get his name as the background is on the noisy side.
Waitress was too interested in why I got a $25 gift certificate. None of her business. She was far too pushy. It really upset me
A warmer than usual September afternoon made for a lovely patio lunch Pepperwoods. While the street noise was a bit loud at first we quickly forgot about it as we tucked in to three shared appetizers - crab cakes, escargot and mussels - and a bottle of wine. While the crab cakes and escargot were delicious, the mussels were tasty but unfortunately lukewarm at best. Our server was very pleasant and attentive (but not too attentive).
Will definitely be back to Pepperwoods and look forward to dining inside - which looked lovely- and trying some of the other dishes!
Enjoy my food. Motorcycles outside pretty loud. Oh well still had a good time
Have been many times before but not within past six months. Lots of options on menu but food quality was disappointing. Server was attentive. Decor appealing although we changed to another booth due to a big rip in booth upholstery ( hygiene and comfort). Not in a rush to return any time soon. Food quality not up to par. Bar was under reno and looked unappealing.
Location and food are fabulous! Unfortunately we had a server who was not very pleasant and seemed inconvenienced whenever she approached our table.
We found the food very salty. The service was fine, nothing over the top but okay. I hadn't been here for a very long time. Not sure when I will be back again.
We visited Pepperwood’s for a special occasion, and cannot say enough good things about the whole experience. We were greeted quickly and given our choice of seating, and our server was knowledgeable about the menu and offered her recommendations. She gave was attentive but gave us plenty of privacy, and was not at all pushy in trying to free up our seats as we chatted after dinner. I will definitely return and highly recommend this location. Thank you so much for a wonderful evening.
Delicious food and the ambiance is great also some great live music. Highly recommend.
Our friendly hostess sat us but forgot to assign a server . We had to ask twice for someone to take our order.
Our poor waitress was very apologetic. It was not her fault at all. no one told her it was her table !!
This should be managed better .once we told another waitress we needed to be served she didn’t reassure us just moved on the her table . There was not a shared community of servers it was ‘that’s not my table ‘attitude .
Everyone needs to help out to make everyone have a better experience .
Pepperwoods is my "go-to" place in Burlington. I eat here at least twice a month. Most recently it was lunch with friends from out-of-town whom I hadn't seen for years. Great atmosphere at Pepperwoods and our server knew we wanted to have a good visit and offered to take our picture. So glad we have this lovely restaurant in Burlington.
appetizer served with main course
never been in a restaurant where they would do that
Lack of concern over food allergies. No apologies when error was made in this regard, from server or management. Food took a very long time to come after ordering. Restaurant was not that busy so there was no excuse really.
We did get the one meal we could not eat taken off our bill but that one person had to go without dinner and no offer of compensation was made.... Even a bun with butter or a dessert would have helped the situation.
Overall, a negative experience and we will not be back.
Our waitress wasn’t the best. She seemed distracted but the food still came out fairly timely although our water was never refilled. We were on the patio and there was a fair bit of noise from the street (not something that can be controlled) as well as the jazz musician that was right next to our table. Overall a good experience.
We went for Sunday brunch and both the service or food were unacceptable. Although the server was nice enough the service was unbelievably slow. The eggs and sausage both tasted like they were full of chemicals and the smoke salmon and bagel had one piece of salmon. Really?! The capers were good though. The hamburger was okay but had very little flavour. The singer was good but way too loud. I would definitely not come back.
Sat on patio. Lots of loud traffic going by which made for hard talking at times. Tables and chairs fairly wobbly to sit at.
There were no complaints about the food by the table of five. There was a main to please everyone which included Italian, Thai and comfort Americana dishes. The server could have been more knowledgeable of the menu in order to help with meal and dessert selections. There was no flexibility or confirming with management regarding modifications even though the alternative choice was of lesser value. On the other hand, she was very generous with the parmesan.
We enjoyed our meal outdoors. The patio was clean and comfortable only that the traffic was a bit loud especially when a biker passed by but that’s unavoidable.
Go! Eat and enjoy it for yourself, you deserve it.
It was lovely sitting on the patio. The Thai salad was tasty my only complaint is that one salad was significantly smaller than the other. I found the pork in the taco to be dry and chewy. It was just over cooked. The service was excellent. I would go back again.
Arranged the table from abroad for a reunion with friends and my cousin great venue lovely swevice. Yummy PEI mussels and beer. Great meal
Very very slow service. And food is just ok, nothing special.
I had ordered the pizza I was expecting a more flavourful meal. Others in our party did not enjoy their meal either siding lack of flavour
Nice ambiance, convenient to find, a great selection of foods.
Sunday evening family celebration and other than our waitress and her great service the rest was mediocre at best. Menu items not available, food was OK, but not great, restaurant appears dated and not the cleanest. Will not return.
The mussels were small and at least six were closed and inedible. The broccoli soup was really squash or carrot (very orange) and was more like a mush and barely warm. Of the four of us, nobody considered their food outstanding, just okay. The outdoor patio was lovely and we had a table with shade, so that was good. However, not a terrific birthday lunch.
Well since you asked here goes: There were 6 of us. Three ordered pizza and 3 ordered Mahi Mahi. You must admit it is not a good thing when only half of the pizza is eaten and when the server asked if we wanted to take the remainder home , she heard a no thank you from all 3 patrons. The Mahi Mahi as I was informed was very dry hence I believe overcooked. So that is the food. There were no complaints about the wine. I ordered beer and please give me a break, $10 for a pint of beer, I thought I was at a Blue Jays game. We don't think we will be returning.
The food was okay, but the service was not that great. The patio is really nice. The menu is not very large or diverse. Very few vegan options.
Two ladies got together for lunch. We enjoyed ordering our food from their Taste of Burlington lunch menu. The cost was $20.00 for a 3 course lunch, per person. We had their potato/cheddar soup, Thai peanut salad with mangos, the daily quiche with a Caesar salad, and we each had their lemon cheesecake with a strawberry coulis. The service was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed the food. We would recommend that the appetizer salad was too large, it could have been ⅓ the size. Other than that, everything was perfect. We will definitely return, and perhaps try their Taste of Burlington dinner menu.
The service was slow, and the Katherine was surly and disrespectful to all 4 guests
Happy, helpful staff.
I really hate giving negative reviews but I can honestly say I had a pretty awful time.
I came here for a lunch out with my in-laws and made a reservation. Things started going pretty badly when I had to wait 15mins just to be seated for my reservation. But no worries I thought, this happens all the time.
The thing only went downhill after that. We waited 15mins for our drink orders to be taken and over an hour for the mains. I don't mind waiting for food, in fact, I prefer to wait if I know the quality is going to be fantastic, however for a bunch of mains that were subpar and an extremely overcooked burger (i mean it tasted like cardboard and was black in some spots) I start counting down my satisfaction for the service.
For over $100 this place has subpar food quality that tastes as it came from microwave and awful service. It does, however, have a fantastic location and outdoor patio. To this day I don't know where all the good reviews are coming from because service this bad happens once in a million years.
Really wanted to love this place and was well disappointed.
I was very happy with the food and service and enjoyed the patio
We frequent Pepperwood monthly. Service is 50/50, our recent visit the service sucked. Our app was good, my partners pickerel was good, my pasta special was ok. Not good just ok.
We went on a Friday at 6pm as a part of 4. The patio was half full but we ate inside, which was only about a quarter full. The food was amazing. It arrived in good time, was hot and well prepared. Lots of good selections. My friend was delighted with the mussel pot. Now for the down sides.
Despite it not being busy, we were seated in a large, awkward semi circle booth in the front window. Two of us were looking across at the far wall and had to turn awkwardly to speak to anyone else at the table. It was sunset so I could not see my friend sitting at the one end of the table with his back to the window because of the glare.
Our waitress was pleasant and professional, but not attentive. I suspect that it was because we were not ordering alcohol, but we had appetizers, dessert and coffee so the bill was not insignificant. After our meals came, she checked on us once and then never again. No refills on drinks or water. After dinner we ordered dessert and coffee, which took a long time to arrive. The service was fine, just not great. Especially considering how quiet it was for a Friday night.
I'd go back, but it wouldn't be my first choice.
My wife and I had a wonderful time. We sat outside and had great food and service. We told our server, Olivia, not to rush and it was perfect. We truly enjoyed our experience.
I called the next day and talked to a manager and told her the great time we had.
Great view of the lake and great food. the only thing the bottled water was room temperature. :)
Always a great time at Pepperwood!!!! We will be back.
We did let the waitress know that people weren’t coming to our reservation. We were all charged gratuity anyways even though there was less than 8 of us. We might’ve got dessert if the waitress hadn’t handed us the bills early. It made us feel rushed so we went elsewhere for that. One of the cups had a lipstick stain but the waitress got us another one.
Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Tables were a bit small, but staff cleared dishes when appropriate. Food was delicious.
