Peppercorn's Grille and Tavern Ratings and Reviews
Babe took the beef tenderloin and it was delicious. I took the chef's pick for the adventurous and got... I will not ruin your surprise, but it was generous and hearty. Our waitress was not nice to us, I could tell that I'm not of her favorite customers. She didn't even care to tell us that the kitchen is closing so we were quite disappointed when we got to the desert (!).
All in all the food was good enough that I want to return and try other dishes they have, and hopefully find myself served by another waiter/ess.
Visited Peppercorns for Valentines Day with my 2 teens. We all loved our meals. Menu is very creative and side dishes are as enticing as the entrées. Pasta is fresh and sauces are delicious. Pecan salmon with roasted Brussel sprouts and mashed absolutely delicious with hint of bacon. My son had an equally delicious harvest seafood meal with a risotto with apples and cranberries, yum. Pistachio haddock also wonderful. Manhattans were spot on. Big piece of chocolate chip bread pudding for dessert topped off a delicious meal. Service was excellent accommodating my food allergy to bivalves. We will return.
I've been coming to P eppercorn's for as long as I can remember and I can't deny it anymore. The wait staff the past 3 times I've come in has been atrocious. This particular visit I was meeting up with a very dear friend to catch up. We each ordered a drink and entree. Now I understand this is not a waitresses dream table, but our waitress literally began circling our table after 45 minutes. She even had a fellow wait staff come grab our drink glasses as a hint to hit the road. Kerry I believe her name was left much to be desired and may very well have been the nail in the coffin for me to consider Peppercorns when choosing a spot to meet up next time. I had similarly unpleasant experiences over the past year, perhaps front of the house management needs to step it up. There are too many dining options out there to have terrible service. Food was great , but not enough to offset rough around the edges waitstaff.
The food was quite good. My wife had the lemon pasta with haddock, and the lemon flavor was bright but not overwhelming. I had the brisket, which was tender and well spiced. The service was excellent. We had an OpenTable award and they were eager to honor it.
This place was great. It had been recommended by a family member so we decided to head there for dinner to start our girl’s night out. The waiter was super friendly, outgoing and fun. Not overwhelming, but created a perfectly fun atmosphere. The food was DELICIOUS and the drinks were great. I highly recommend the risotto balls to start. The space was a little tight in the center tables, so we felt like we were being too loud, but other than that, it was great. Highly recommend.
Great service and a great New Years menu. Always a great selection of craft brew. Hand of the Chef is a great option (weekends only). Plenty of regular menu options and creative specials. It’s a good spot for a relaxed, extended dinner with friends or date night.
One of our favorite places! The food is consistently good, the menu changes with the season. Always great choices of seafood, pasta, chicken, beef, etc! The service is excellent. We’re frequently going out to Peppercorns or its sister restaurant, Prezo’s, in Milford. Yum!
Food is fantastic, so I would definitely go back for that.
Main dining room is noisy during peak hours when it is full, so much so that it can be a strain hearing people at your own table. Until the restaurant does something like installs carpeting in that room, we will only go there on off-Peak hours when it is fairly empty.
The server during our last visit was not very friendly or competent. She could use a little training on things like how to speak to customers with a smile and handing them a dessert menu so that it faces them rather than just dropping it on the table and walking away.
Again, fantastic menu and execution of meals. Now, the restaurant just needs to deal with the noisy atmosphere and the waitstaff manners and will be a 5-star establishment.
I have twin 13 year boys that cant agree on anything. This is the only place they agree to go as a family. We have going here for years...typically once a week. we have also used the catering several times. The staff is always great and personable. I haven't tried everything on the menu, but pretty close. I have never been disappointing. I also like how they change it up every so often with the menu items and beer selection. If you real daring, try the "Hand of the Chef" where the chef will surprise you with a unique dish. I have done this a half dozen times and it has been simply amazing!!
First visit to this restaurant. My wife started with the Salt and Caramel martini - loved it! Novel menu - lots of variations on favorite dishes. We shared the pistachio haddock and 2 side salads. It was very well prepared. Our server was attentive. A great neighborhood stop for dinner. May have to wait a bit to find a parking spot.
We made a reservation for 7pm and got there about 10 minutes early. We were told it would be a few minutes before our table was ready which was understandable since we were early. Others who came when we arrived were told it was a 30 minute wait. We didn’t get seated until 7:10 so even with a reservation we still essentially had a 30 minute wait. The food was great but I was not impressed by the service.
Visited the restaurant with my 17 year old grandson. He relished his dinner of chicken topped with aioli sauce and with green beans on the side. I loved my dirty martini and the tortellini entree with chicken mixed in and topped with marinara sauce (I stay away from cream sauce). The service by Erica was fabulous. She made us feel welcome and carefully explained the features of a couple of the entrees.
