Service was top notch. Value was great due to the very extended happy hour. Not as nice inside when it first opened with booths.
When we arrived they did not have our reservation they said online reservations were closed but it allowed me to make one so they squeezed all into a tiny table in the very back. Also, the server ignored us several times when we asked for our checks. I had to get two different managers to finally pay our checks. Some people got and were charged for drinks they did not even order because the server was in such a rush she did not listen to orders.
This was the first visit to Pepper Smash for a Birthday Celebration. While we were very impressed with the food, the venue is quite small and we could see why you needed a table reservation with Open Table, due to the limited number of tables available. They do offer daily Happy Hour from 11 am - 10 pm with $5.00 specific type of alcohol drinks. I do appreciate that they did not charge the designated driver for soft drinks. I will say that when we arrived, the Open Table reservation could not be located, but the Front Manager was willing to let us have the dinner table prior to the next scheduled 08:00 pm party reservation. Also, the Open Table confirmation for a Saturday Night Table showed up approximately 2 days later at 05:25 am after the scheduled reservation.
Honestly made this res by mistake but honored it anyways , food is not this places star feature it’s just a bar with a very prolonged happy hour food for drinkers but not for me.
It was a bar with food - not a restaurant with a bar. Not a spot for a nice dinner on a Saturday evening. Service was fine, but staff seemed confused that we were there to eat vs get drunk.
Didn't actually sit at the table, just went to the bar... good drinks & COTTON CANDY! I asked, they served, complete on a cotton candy cone! Will definitely be back!
Staff was not very attentive- had to ask several times for the server & it was NOT busy/crowded yet. Music was really loud for 730p. I could understand if it was 9pm and later but that seemed early to be blaring. Food was good & reasonably priced. I probably would not go back for dinner - seems more like a spot to grab a drink after dinner or pop in if your planning to watch a game etc.
We were the only customers. The food was pretty good but they were out of many items on the menu which was unfortunate. We’ll likely give it another go.
My real only complaint about the place was that they didn't have the air conditioning on in May on an 80+ degree evening. They had the front door open and possibly like a garage door out to the patio. But my friend and I were sweating over our drinks and "sliders" that was a burger cut in half. Didn't even quarter it! LOL Drinks were great but place is basically a bar and food is bar food. Little expensive but with some A/C it would have probably been a pretty decent experience. Doubt I would go back.
This was my second time here and I loved it again. I was having a girls night out and reserved a table just in case on a Saturday night and I'm glad I did because it was crowded inside. The atmosphere is fun, the music upbeat, and we got a shareable drink ~ the ocean water ~ it's almost too good! We ordered a bunch of appetizers and they were all delicious. Service was spot on and fast. Will definitely return.
Enjoyed our time there but...the music is too loud. They need to turn it down. I was sitting across from someone at a small table and was hoarse the next day from shouting.
Loved the Pepper Smash cocktail!!! Amazing! Good food and great experience overall.
Food was really great! The only thing that made the event bad was our server. It really felt like she was rushing us to leave from start to finish.
Amazing drinks and service!! We will definitely be back!!
They were apparently revamping their menu so they only had a few items of their already small menu. The food was mediocre. The service was ok she forgot we ordered n appetizer n came back to ask us again. I'm pretty sure she was the only one working so we looked past it. It wasn't a bad experience but wasn't good enough to get me to go back
It was Mothers Day and they only had two people waiting tables inside and outside patio area. Took 45 minutes to get our food and it wasn't even warm. Several guests got up and left because they couldn't get service. We were excited to go there, thought the menu looked good, but won't try it again.
We patronized for what they advertised as a "brunch" and what was represented as a Top Chef with freshly made from scratch food. This is NOT a restaurant.... it is a bar with food. The food was below average and it took over 1 hour to get breakfast food at 11:30 in an empty bar....
I really wanted this to be good, but it just wasn't. The waitress did her very best, but this place should stick to being a bar and not prtending their food is anything more than "bar snacks"...
Me and the hubby only had one drink there, it was over priced for sure. I had the pineapple bubbly and the pineapple in the drink tasted like dirt. Husband got the smoked Dr. Pepper Drink, it was cool to watch be made and tasty. Can say we tried to place but won't be returning any time soon.
Carlos, the bartender was great. The drinks were some of the most creative and inventive. Ask for the Carlitos Way- a smoky bourbon concoction. Food was great- get the chicken and waffles
Came in on Sunday morning for a business brunch
I was embarrassed that I picked this place
Bathrooms dirty from sat night crowd
Service was poor
Excuse about staff and having to open up shop from staff
Left without ordering food
absolutely awful. I made a reservation for 8 people at 11:15 for brunch. We were the only people in the place and there was one person working. It took 45 minutes for him to make all of our cocktails. Several of the cocktails he came back to tell us he was already out of ingredients. During this time, several other couples walked in and within 15 minutes walked out due to not even be served water. Two more waitresses walked in at 12:30 and as they walked by we heard them whisper "sorry" to the one waiter working. We did not leave this place until 1:30. I would NEVER go back here.
1 pm on a Saturday and we walk into an almost empty restaurant. There seems to only be one waitress, one cook and one bartender working. The service was polite, but extremely slow as the restaurant begins to fill in. She is running around and trying her best. Our food takes about 45 mins to come out. My chicken from the chicken and waffles is undercooked, but I dare not send it back. I don't have the time. I will not be back. The portions were small and did not taste good.
Cocktails amazing!! Food was awesome and staff were super friendly & professional. Dylan was wonderful and super attentive! Kimber
First time I had ever dined here. Worst experience dining in a long time. The restaurant was out of several ingredients on the brunch menu and Bloody Mary mix. When we finally order with the limited options we had when my food came my egg was burnt on one side and raw on the other. The waitress kindly told me it was sunny side up ... which raw does not mean sunny side up. She did not offer to fix the issue or make additional suggestions. I have been in the service industry for 18 years and have worked in back of the house, front of the house, management and corporate training; that being said, this was one of the worst experiences I have ever had.
The craft cocktails were awesome and the food was great. I highly recommend the corn dogs.
My sister came to visit me in Dallas on her birthday. She had one request, a cotton candy martini. I googled and Pepper Smash was the only place I could find. The bartender proceeded to make us fresh cotton candy, added house infused vanilla vodka, fresh lemon and lime joice, and champagne. All mixed together was a very delicious drink and not too sweet. It was so perfect we had 2! We also had a burger, chicken and waffles, and hummus plate. Everything was delicious and fresh. There wasnt hardly anyone there for lunch so I wonder if this is more of an after 5 kind of place but either way, we'll be back!
We ordered the shrimp and grits spoonbread. Was good, but MUCH spicier than expected. Shrimp were a little over cooked. We also ordered the Calbrese flatbread which was really good. My hubby ordered the Pepper Smash signature cocktail and loved it.
First we were seating outside in the humidity ... The place smelled like stale mixed drinks ... And smoke .
The food was awful - there was nothing good - really no variety . Our waiter really didn't know much about anything and went and asked in the back every time we asked him something .
Because it was so humid - our drinks melted as soon as they came out .
Not going there ever again!
Love this place and the bartenders !!
The food was surprisingly good. It was a surprise since it was more of a bar than restaurant. Not great for the older mothers for Mother's Day as there are only high tops their and it's a bit dark on the inside. Service, drinks and food were great. The whole place felt like it was covered in oil which I think is from making their pepper smash drink.
3 of us dined for a friends Birthday. We had hoped for outdoor seating, but all of those tables were taken. My pepper smash cocktails was amazing and I ordered more than one. The Shrimp and grits were not typical and very good. The service was good, maybe too good. I think our waiter was new as he didn't seem to know when to approach the table to take orders, etc. We would be deep in conversation and he would walk up an just stand there....linger even. He was very nice but it was a little weird. Other than that, a very good experience.
The food (had the Stacked Bib Salad with chicken) and drinks (Pineapple Express- yum!) were excellent. Service stellar! Our server was awesome but also had manager come check on us . We had a great time and will absolutely be back.
Bar Menu has Trendy Remixes of Classic Favorites. Bartenders was quick, polite and had very nice presentation skills. They seemed versed in Mixology so they can custom make drinks off menu. I was going to order the Menu's Old Fashioned but I was presented with the choice of a Old Classic Old Fashioned, and I accepted.
IT WAS ONE OF THE BEST OLD FASHIONED drinks I've had! Single large ice cube, smoked glass and orange garnished.
We loved the Hummas App
PS Chicken Sandwich
Chicken Pesto Pizza
But too full for desserts.
Tables are not large so large seating is not their forte.
My fiance and I were here for Valentine's Day dinner thinking we'd try something different as part of our outing. What a mistake. The service was awful- pretty sure they only had 2 servers working on VALENTINE'S NIGHT! The menu options sounded promising but when the food arrived, it was bland and not worth the calories at all. I'm guessing by the location of this restaurant, the only true appeal would be the nightlife (and by that I mean drinks). Several drinks leaving the bar were very appealing to the eye. I ordered one with lavender and blackberries that sounded good but was really just a mouthful of mushed up blackberries with every sip. I ended up returning it. We went home still sort of hungry and very disappointed. I won't be going back.
Small format, not really great for group dining. The special cocktails were great! Good for Happy Hour get together. I'll be back.
The food was just not that good. The drinks were ok - my Moscow Mule was acceptable. My wife's Mojito (grannted, it's not on the menu) was way to sweet. The Pepper Smash drink was very spicy - but different. Our server was slow. It took us more than an hour and a half to get our food. It was busy, but not that busy. For the money, there are plenty of places that are better just a walk away.
Such fun drinks! It was neat to watch them being made....some with liquid nitrogen, cotton candy, blow torches, etc.....and they all tasted amazing!! The bartender was super fun, funny and knowledgeable about all of the neat libations. Great place to have a few drinks.
Sneaky good place to enjoy brunch. Make a mean spicy bloody Mary.
Good service. Wasn't overly impressed with the food.
