I will start by saying there was no one in the restaurant. I ordered sparkling rose, which was not sparkling so I didn't have more than a sip which the waiter seemed oblivious to, when I needed more water I realized the waiter was more concerned with the other waitress and his conversation with her than the us. When my salad came out, my boyfriend had to get up to ask for the dressing I had requested on the side. Once I added that I realized that the dressing I specifically asked for it not to have, was on it.
Less than impressed.
Quiet, almost cozy, atmosphere. Big luscious desserts. The crab cakes were so-so. Gritty. I would go back to try something else. Dynamite staff. Very attentive. Overall: a nice place.
I've been to PA 6 in the past and always had a nice time. This round we had a few unfortunate things happen. First, we were handed menus and asked to seat ourselves at the appointed table. Then we ordered their mimosas and after waiting 10 minutes already, we were told we needed to wait longer, because they ran out of champagne and they needed to get more. This was a Sunday morning brunch, at 11:00am, when the restaurant opened at 11:00am. Once the champagne finally arrived it was warm and the server had no solution for us. The bottle was also left on the table without being opened. To follow it up the food was sub-par. It seems they have changed the menu and possibly the chef. My friend ordered her steak medium/rare and it arrived with no pink in the middle. Very bland and very disappointing.
Service was attentive and able to "read the room" - didn't interrupt any conversations. Took my father here to catch-up and the noise level was great (we came early and our server turned it down a bit without us even having to ask!). Ambiance was nice. My father got the steak (loved it), I got the wild mushroom pasta (loved it). They have La Colombe french press that could probably provide for 3 or 4. Desserts looked great but we went around the corner for gelato instead. Location is nice for walking around, restaurant didn't seem like it could possibly get crowded (great job spacing the tables!). There are stairs to get to the dining room though so be weary of your heels!! :)
Celebrated a birthday! Great menu options, taste and presentation of food was excellent!
Love the food & service. Had a blast. Bubbly brunch is a must!
We last visited Pennsylvania 6 about a year ago, and had been regular customers. Upon our return we found that the menu seems smaller, the crowd thinner, and the drinks less substantial. The raw bar options are non-existent on the menu - when asked the server said that the seafood tower is definitely available - but why not on the menu? We didn't order it for that reason. They used to have a really nice ceviche, but no longer. And all of the employees we spoke to seemed to have been with the restaurant for a short time.
Wonderful spot for brunch, with a solid menu and good drink options. Fun ambiance in a lively neighborhood.
We stopped in for a family dinner and everything we ordered was fantastic! Service was excellent
We always loved Penn 6 for happy hour and dinner, but lately they've installed a DJ up front and the music is so loud it's impossible to have a conversation, or really to hear anything. Our dinner was a Friday night, and there were maybe two other tables filled. By the time we left, there were some more people at the bar, but still the whole restaurant was pretty empty. If Penn 6 wants to be a club that has food, they may want to consider rebranding/reorganizing the first floor space, or seating dinner reservations upstairs where I imagine it is quieter. If Penn 6 wants to stay a restaurant where people come for a sit down meal with friends, they should probably nix the club vibe DJ. Right now they fail to be either a restaurant or a club, and I don't see myself going back anytime soon.
I went in for Mother's Day. They had a special menu for brunch which according to their website was over before my reservation (which unfortunately it wasn't). Immediately the waiter said they were out of 4 items from the menu and we couldn't order from their regular menu. Everything took forever to come out (the restaurant was less than half full) and the waiter was inattentive. The regular menu looks great but this was a bad experience.
Great food and great service!
I think we may have been expecting more than what we got which is why we were let down. My wife and I took our Moms to PA 6 for Mother's Day brunch. They had a special menu which was nice, they gave the Mom's flowers which was nice, and the food was okay. The restaurant is a little more beat up than I would have thought. The 2nd floor needs some TLC, stains on the walls and pictures, paint chipping everywhere, some strange black marks coming from their speaker area (possible mold). Our waiter was not very friendly or personable. He never said Happy Mother's Day once. It was me with 3 Moms so it was kind of obvious. The food was pretty good and the value was fair. Service and interior are the main reasons for this review.
We almost booked this restaurant for our wedding rehearsal dinner 2 years ago, and this was my first time at PA 6. I am very happy that we didn't have our event here. I would not go back to PA 6 or refer friends/family to the restaurant.
Another wonderful Mother's Day brunch at PA6. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to all our needs.
Delicious specials. Pork collar is definitely a must-try. Crabcakes were dry and forgettable. However, the ambiance is fantastic and the food is authentically American.
Good food and drinks. Cool fun atmosphere. Had some appetizers and entrees. Love the sparkler attached to a drink or dessert for a special occasion. Would definitely go back!!
Girlfriend and I had a great meal here. I had never been before, she had been for drinks and was ever so slightly dubious about their dinner fare, but we were both pleasantly surprised. Everything was great! The daily specials were very interesting and combined with the menu items, making a choice was difficult. Only thing to watch out for is that the price for a dozen fresh oysters is STEEP! (a little over $50 for a dozen).
The food was good - had steak and frites and chicken with mash potato were both cooked/seasoned well. Only real negative was the noise level. Didn't know there was a live DJ and the music was soooo loud we couldn't hear ourselves and not being in the mindset for loud we ate and left. I also thought it was a bistro but it was more like a pub; however, it was St. Patrick's Day so maybe everyone was celebrating.
Went here for brunch to celebrate a friend's engagement. The brunch was fantastic and they do $18 bottles on champagne with great mixers. Will definitely be back!
Had dinner with friend on a Wednesday night. Restaurant is cool and the food was really good. Service was a little lacking considering that the place was fairly empty with only 2 or 3 other tables eating, but overall was a positive experience.
We selected this place purely based on convenience, but the food turned out to be fantastic. The noise level was a bit high, but we were seated upstairs, which made it okay.
Absolutely love Pennsylvania 6 - the decor, the food, the service is all amazing. Their dishes are not the standard "burger" or "chicken". Try the ricotta and sourdough appetizer - it is AMAZING. Love all their dinner options and they have a great bar scene as well.
Great food. Busy. Sparklers on champagne for special occasions!
Food was pretty good. Bartender was great! Great service and great drinks. Visit was on 2-16
I really liked this restaurant. The food was great but I think the price was a little too high for the portion sizes.
I'm a vegetarian and still had a really great meal here. I'd definitely recommend trying this place out. The food is great and the servers are always so nice and friendly.
The overall experience was nice, the price of the food was reasonable and the atmosphere was amazing. Unfortunately the food was very salty, and the service that was provided from the waiter was not up to par. I would return but not anytime soon.
Great food. Unique tastes. Funky drinks. Great atmosphere.
We loved our server Conor! She was very sweet, attentive, and engaging, with GREAT menu suggestions. DEFINITELY will be back, and definitely will be asking for her.
Sunday brunch. Very good. Loved the atmosphere. Relaxing No need to rush.
Restaurant Week 2017
Waited a while before being seated even though we had a reservation. Staff was slow. Asked for a refill on coffee and didn't receive it until we got our check. Food took long even though we ordered first thing when we sat down. I would not recommend this restaurant for brunch.
Wonderful food and experience! Service was quick and our waiter was attentive. Loved the atmosphere and the food was delicious.
It was way too loud for a dinner conversation. We were seated across from the bar. When they tried to seat us, I asked for a table upstairs where it might be quieter. They insisted that they couldn't do it, even though it was a slow night and the upstairs never filled up. They said they would turn down the music (yes it was just the music not the patrons) and it didn't happen. Also, the wait staff was pretty inattentive for a slow night. I was never asked if I wanted another drink, even though my empty glass sat on our table for two hours. The food was good and the wait staff were friendly.
Over all great time really good food we all got the burger and duck fat fries excellent choice. I will say coffee was lukewarm/cold and service was a little slow and it wasn't really that crowded at the time.
We were almost the only people in the restaurant on a Wednesday night, and, still, we had a hard time getting the waitress's attention. The food was mediocre, at best. The hamachi was strange; we didn't even finish it. The ragu was a mushy mess. The brussel sprouts were greasy. The good part was that it was quiet so we could talk easily
Great food and even better service. Plates can be a bit expensive, but you get what you pay for! Lobster roll and ricotta app were both unreal!
Oysters were as good as ever.
We were just in town for the weekend with Kids and looking for something near the hotel and kid-friendly enough. We had a really nice experience here. Got a great table where we felt like our kids wouldn't disturb anyone. The atmosphere was dark and cozy and the food was tasty. I recommend the calamari. The service was excellent. My son ordered fried oysters (for the first time ever) and didn't like them. I traded some of my meal with him and we were both happy. The waiter asked if we'd like to take them off the check, which was very nice, but we kept them and I ate them instead.
One and done. We won't return as there was nothing special about it. $34 filet with no sides and a "lick and hold" salad fork policy....disappointing. That said, the space had a cool vibe and the food had decent flavor. We just didn't feel the entire experience warranted the cost of the meal at close to $50 a person.
