Octopus was heavenly. Service was very nice even tho we were in a time crunch. I enjoyed my red chair !
Pennsylvania 6 is a very nice place very near Penn Station and MSG. Excellent for cocktails and good food right before an event.
Very courteous and professional staff.
The first table we sat at was filthy. Moved to another table, which was fine. Food was good. Booth seats aren’t attached to the floor so they aren’t very stable. Tennis reruns on TV, which was strange. Otherwise it was fine.
I took some clients to lunch here and it was a great experience. Food and service were fantastic, pricing was reasonable and it had a great "NY" feel for my guests (who were out-of-towners). Location is great - close to Penn station. I will definitely come back.
We were able to grab a bite at the bar before an event at MSG. Their menu has a nice variety of food (salads, seafood, pastas, meats, etc). The surrounding places were either too casual or just limited to just pub food. Great bar for cocktails and offer a nice selection of beers on tap as well. Service was good and we we’re able to attend an event on time at MSG.
This was our third time eating here and every time the service and food were amazing! Great location near entertainment and transportation. We will definitely be back.
God awful loud!!! Couldn’t hold a conversation without yelling at each other. We’d asked for a quiet table so they put us upstairs which was accommodating - so a plus for the service. BUT the noise level even there was unbearable. We will not return.
Third time here, never disappointed. Service is exceptional and I love the atmosphere
Elton John concert
Great food and service. I highly recommend!
My go to place before a show at MSG on a weekday - especailly when it is cold!! Never disappoints.
Great menu, we each had a fish dish that was cooked perfectly, nicely plated, with creative sides. There were a ton of things on menu that I would love to try, a big inviting BAR with big TVs. Old wooded feel to restaurant that makes it look like a throwback...gets very busy pre-MSG events which is a testament to the quality of the restaurant.
Great food and service
Wait staff excellent . Very attentive and friendly.
Great food and location, close to MSG before or after a show. Friendly staff.
This was not a great experience. I went with my sister and three nieces and nephews, so, party of 5 people. First of all we went at 245 on a Saturday for a late lunch, however they were still using their brunch menu which went until 4pm. I don't think restaurants should push a brunch menu that late into the date, diners should have the option to choose if they want brunch or lunch. The biggest issue is the whole non-breakfast items were a burger and lobster roll. Everything else was breakfast. I ordered the lobster roll which was just okay, but probably the best out of everything ordered. I also ordered a glass of the italian red which they were out of and so I ordered a pinot nior. When the glass came it was filthy and I told the waitress I would like a difference glass, she applogized but then went on to tell me they've been having issues with their dishwaser and things keep coming out dirty (EWWW!!!). Please don't tell customers that and make sure your dishes are CLEAN before serving them! My sister order the brunch pizza, it said it had feta and roasted red peppers on it (in addition to egg, bacon and chives). When she got it there weren't any roasted red peppers and they used american cheese instead of feta. The egg on it wasn't just running, it was basically raw, which the white of the egg still gooey and undercooked. My niece and newphew ordered grilled cheese off the kids menu which I didn't think was possible to mess up. They served the grilled cheese on rye (which I personally like, but kids tend to want the classic grilled cheese on white or wheat bread). The grilled cheese wasn't made with any butter and tasted like cardboard. Neither of the kids ate them, luckly the french fries were good. My sister had asked the waitress initially if there were any salads on the menu, to which she responded "unfortunately not". Would not recommend.
Excellent service, tasty food, pretty atmosphere, close to Madison Square Garden. When we asked the server to be sure we were finished by a certain time, he was perfectly accommodating. The chicken and the pork chop were delicious!
We were looking for a place close to Penn Station to have a leisurely brunch on Sunday afternoon before catching a 3 pm train. Apparently other patrons had the same idea in mind judging from the amount of luggage roped off in a section by the door, very convenient for travelers. Our greeter was very pleasant and seated us promptly. Our server Nick was extremely professional and personable, explaining the specials and took care of all our needs, never letting a water glass go empty , not rushing us through the meal and clearing the table once we signaled we were done. The food was excellent, there was a wide variety of menu choices and each of us thoroughly our selection. Its proximity to the train station was the reason we chose to dine there but if we are in the area again I would make a return visit.
Nice place near MSG. Good for groups and pre/show dinner and drinks
Dinner reservation for 2. Got there at 5pm. But they would not seat me until my buddy arrived 20 minutes later. I literally stood in front of the hostess for 20 minutes and she was fine with that. 80% of the tables were empty. After that they came to the table constantly trying to hurry us along until we left. I will not be returning. This is a place that is banking on their location and offering little else to attract clientele.
The restaurant and bar are very close to MSG, and surprisingly really good - atmosphere, service, food, drinks and location. Happy Hour available but you need to ask!
I was not overwhelmed by this restaurant. I think the noise level interfered with my enjoyment of the meal. I will praise the service staff. They were terrific. I might try again at a time when not during “happy hour” or before an event at MSG.
Super noisy. We were unable to have a conversation. This made the well prepared hard to enjoy.
The food was excellent. The service was extremely slow. There was a Paul Simon concert at MSG and the restaurant was packed. It was extremely noisy.
We went here for dinner before a concert at MSG. Food was delicious, service was friendly and quick. Nice bar scene
We loved this place....the price is a little bit high but reasonable for a times square restaurant...so, can't really complain. We absolutely loved loved loved the cornbread. I recommend everyone to try it.
We got seated promptly and service couldn’t have been better. While I loved my entree, my companion found hers a bit lacking. Kudos to the staff for reacting and removing the item from the tab. Definitely would go back next time we are in the city!
The ambiance was good, service too, but the food was really disappointed. My eggs Benedict were hard inside, not soft at all.
Went before a concert at MSG. Our server, Nick, was attentive and efficient. We all enjoyed our meals, drinks, and dessert. Too bad we don’t like oysters — the raw bar looked good. Very noisy, but could still have a conversation.
This is a very loud spot!
We had been here three years ago when in town for a Billy Joel concert at Madison Square Garden. We loved it, so we came back this year when back in town for another concert at MSG. The ambiance is still wonderful and looked fun at the bar. But they were a bit short on wait staff for pre-concert dining. I got the lobster roll as I had remembered it was fantastic lastvisit. Sadly, the lobster was quite tasteless and bland. I expected much better for $29.
Not nearly as good as before.
My husband’s cheeseburger was fantastic though. So stick with the basics when dining here.
We were seated on time for a weekday 5:30 reservation. Split the flatbread app, and it was delicious. Many individual tastes that melded well. I had the short ribs, my wife had the lobster roll, and both were delicious. The sorbet dessert was plenty for two people, and the flavors were quite good. My only complaint is that the noise level is deafening. Otherwise, Pennsylvania 6 is a nice discovery in an area not known for good eats.
Great spot near penn station for business meals. A go-to lunch spot if you work or commute through the area
This place was recommended by a friend and we thoroughly enjoyed our brunch yesterday. The food was delicious and we enjoyed all of the mimosas and bellinis. A great place in Midtown Manhattan close to Penn Station and perfect for brunch.
Craig and his staff do a great job. This little restaurant is just around the corner from MSG and a welcome break from the touristy, overpriced and under quality food in and around MSG. At Penn 6, the food is always good, and there's a great selection, from salad to pizza to full course entrees. We had the lamb chops which were flavored to perfection without taking away from the taste of the lamb, and the sausage and peppers pizza. The pizza's crust was tasty and obviously not frozen. I would have liked to see more figs in the fig salad with arugula, but overall it was a good portion (we shared it) and was dressed deliciously. Good job at Penn 6, we will definitely go back.
A great restaurant in a subpar area near MSG. Atmosphere is casual, but food is fantastic.
Service was good while the food was outstanding. The ribeye was very flavorful
Fine Dining quality meals come out super fast so you can get over to MSG for the show or game!! Make sure you have their Knob Creek Manhattan "on the rox" as you will have three!!
The food never fails to empress me when I have eaten here. The sound level can get a little too much when it is a crowded evening. Must make reservations.
