Exquisite in all categories. Please disregard reviews saying the service was slow; clearly those individuals are unaccustomed to fine cuisine and individually prepared courses. We ate in the courtyard, which was thoroughly delightful. It could have been better only if the chairs there were a bit more comfortable. Each course was a delight and the service impeccable. I can hardly imagine a more delightful dining experience, except for the aforementioned chairs. If we lived anywhere near Charleston we would be dining there often.

The occasion was for late evening dessert and brandy with out-of -town family members. We had a table in the courtyard with perfect lighting and weather to enjoy good conversation.

This was my first visit to the restaurant. The food and service was excellent. I did not care for my seating. It was adjoining bench/wall seating with facing individual seating. Too close to next guest. Not as private and personal as I would have liked. There was other seating available that I should have asked to be moved to. Since I was a newbie, I did not complain. There was only five (two) top tables in the restaurants in this position. Next time I will request a more private space. Otherwise, excellent.

Get the coconut cake to go. It’s definitely the best thing this restaurant offers.

From New York and read and hear so many great things about this restaurant!! The southern hospitality was on point and couldn't believe how amazing the food and service we received. I'll be back again and will definitely be at the restaurant again.

Took my husband for dinner, as I had loved the restaurant so much on my last trip to Charleston. It didn't disappoint! Beautiful restaurant (ahhh, those walls!), excellent food and great service. The Peninsula Grill is Charleston at it's best and should make this fine city proud!!!

Excellent! Excellent! Best in town! Flavors are incredible. Plating is brilliant. But what really puts this place head and shoulders above the rest is the impeccable service. This is no high priced coffee shop where they reach across you and plump food on the table. Most waiters are much too intimate jovial and friendly for high-class restaurants.
Here the waiters glide it in when needed and glide out of the way, plates were placed in front of everyone at the same time and removed at the same time - truly exceptional. Without being called, the sommelier appeared. Our main server was informative, understated, and delightful without being overly pushy or our "best friend."

Impeccable service and refined ambiance both inside and outside for dining. This was a return visit for us after three years. While the food was good, we did not feel it was of the same quality as we had experienced in our prior visit. Excellent wine list and knowledgeable sommelier.

Room service continental breakfast was very generous in terms of number of items included and portion size.

Food was good not amazing. The wait staff was very friendly but service was very slow. I think something went wrong with our order. When we questioned the waiter the manager came over and apologized.

Appetizer was fabulous
Soup was outstanding

Wine by the glass was very poor for $14/glass I would have at least expected something average. Trader Joe’s beats them easily.

Entrees were average

Noise level so loud we could hardly have a conversation

We’ve eaten here several times and each time we wondered why we came back

Hope we’ve learned our lesson and leave it to the tourists.

Was very nice dining. The crowd was a little older as you would expect. Our waiter was wonderful and very knowledgeable. I had the surf and turf special which I felt was a bit skimpy for the $58 price tag. The steak had several fatty tips which I certainly was t expecting at this restaurant. The coconut cake was worth the trip. Very moist and unique. This is really what I came for anyway. Overall it was a good experience.

Our second time here and it is a must for us on any trip to Charleston. Excellent service, food, ambiance, and especially good for special occasions. The steaks are superb and the scallops are my favorite. Appetizer of lobster trio is wonderful.

Much more "formal" than other great Charleston restaurants and while the food was very good, it was not the best value of all of the restaurants we enjoyed in Charleston. While I could recommend it, I would employ the caveat of "pricey" and less "casual" feel. Beautiful room.
