It was loud. And we pretty much had to force them to bring out our meal.
Fabulous dinner with a girlfriend of mine. The medium rare filet with bleu cheese was simply the best I have ever consumed. I highly recommend and I will be back the next time I visit Charleston!
Food was cold. Coconut cake was not fresh. Very disappointing!
Had a wonderful experience. All the staff are attentive and polite. Meal was perfectly prepared and delicious.
An absolut stunning experience. Top service and fantastic food.
Of all the great places to eat in Charleston, The Peninsula Grill remains the cream of the crop. Always consistent, always solid.
Our first meal at the Peninsula Grill was not a success. When the bill for four people is approaching $600 one should receive the ordered cut of beef cooked at the desired temperature. I ordered the New York Strip steak medium rare and received a ribeye medium/well done. I ate it because I didn't want to eat ten minutes after the rest of my family. My wife can't digest nuts or seeds and when we enquired about the presence of nuts in a dessert we never found out, it arrived and we had to try to figure it out ourselves. The famous coconut cake was dry, the one from Kudzu bakery is ten times better. Pass!
Food not unique or exceptional, but extremely well prepared and presented. Dignified atmosphere but best aspect was the excellent service and interesting people serving the diner.
Been going here for years. Was actually disappointed this trip. Service was excellent! Food was not the best. Steak was very sinewy . Chicken was average. Lamb chops were good.. overpriced for quality of meal.
Still the best restaurant in Charleston. And the coconut cake is spectacular.
Food and wines are always of the best quality. Service is impeccable. Couldn’t ask for a better experience
The food, presentation, atmosphere and ambience was excellent.
It was excellent! First rate in every way. Timing was good. Joel was an excellent server. Team approach with management engaged. A busy Valentine’s Day dinner but they delivered!
It is ok. The crowd was older.
One of the best meals ever. I will go back again. Service was wonderful, everything was perfect.
This is a very elegant space with very good service and impeccable attention to detail. The fresh bread was piping hot and the free ceviche taster was appreciated.
Unfortunately the quality of the main dishes was just not very good. The flounder was extremely dry and flavorless, and woefully overpriced.
There are lots of Charleston tourists for whom money is no object, and this place might be for them.... but I won’t be back. Way, way WAY overpriced!
We had a wonderful meal,as always.Kristen was a fabulous waitress. The lobster appetizer was amazing. Our friend so enjoyed the duck and my husband loved the halibut.
They served a halibut ceviche as a beginning horderve and it was so good.Of course,we had to end our dinner with a piece of their very famous coconut cake.It was perfect
For 4 of us to share.A lovely evening was had by the 4 of us.
Quality. Professional staff. Ambience and mood made for the area. Food presented par exe lance. Creative and delectable food.
Dinner for our wedding anniversary was a memorable experience
Southern elegance and amazing cuisine. Very strong wine list. Additionally the service was outstanding.
Ate in our favorite spot...a both in the bar. Bar was quiet except for the too loud, ceaseless personal talking of the bartendress. Very annoying. Tartar delicious.
Lobster entree tiny and tasteless. Didn’t even taste like lobster, drowning in some orange sauce. Dessert delicious but tiny again. Service was terrific. Been going to peninsula for many years will skip for a while after this unsatisfying yet expensive experience.
One word...Phenomenal! Service was top notch, food was cooked perfectly, and the coconut cake was to die for! They made my birthday dinner very memorable! Would recommend to everyone!
Food was outstanding. Started with She crab soup which was delicious. We ordered the beef tenderloin special and a filet mignon. Both were grilled to perfection. We were unable to eat more desert but ordered the coconut cake to go. Service was outstanding. Our waiter was professional, friendly and helpful.
Just wonderful...only addition needed is soft music...piano, or recorded...white noise, soften the experience, eliminates hearing other conversations.
When first viewing this restaurant as a possible Valentines venue, I was a little skeptical at first. Online it reminded me a lot of Ruth's Chris chains - which, don't get be wrong, is a solid quality steak establishment, but we were looking for a more romantic, local, Charleston vibe. I made three separate reservations (terrible I know) and we decided last minute to go to Peninsula Grill (which beat out Fulton V, and Magnolia's). One of the features to Peninsula Grill was a lovely garden outdoor dining space, which had it been warmer I would have insisted we wait for a table there. Regardless, I made a special request to sit near a window where it would also be possible for my significant other and I to sit adjacent. We were able to find space at the bar and even though we didn't order alcohol, the bartender was engaging in conversation and treated us just as pleasantly as everyone else. We waited for less then 5 minutes before being seated at the table requested! The service was impeccable, the Sommelier was knowledgeable, polished and as sophisticated as the wine he was pouring. Overall 10 out of 10 experience, will certainly return and encourage others to indulge!
Waiter was fake and full of himself.
Great service, delicious food, super loud but still great.
Great food and service as usual. My wife and I love dining here when in Charleston.
Excellent food and service. Peninsula Teatini was fabulous. Dessert was scrumptious. Peninsula Grill is now our favorite special occasion restaurant.
Fabulous restaurant!! Joanna was the best! Food and service were superb! Will definitely be back!
Excellent meal all around. Wonderful food, great service. I had two specials, a very creative and delicious salad and "wreck fish", which I had never had before. It was like a crusted halibut perhaps, flaky and melt-in-your-mouth. Maybe a bit pricey but a special occasion kind of place.
Outstanding meal and service ! Our new favorite !
Wonderful ambience. Kristen our server was fantastic. Beautiful dining room and delicious dinner. Very nice.
A very nice dinner, staff attentive and well trained. Food and presentation excellent.
First time to charleston and it exceeded my expectations
Amazing meal and amazing experience
Very nice dining experience with nice atmosphere except it was noisy. Snapper special was delicious and the duck was very good but a bit under cooked. Lobster appetizer was very good as well with a different oriental flavor. We’ll be back!
Omg. It was the best experience I have had eating dinner downtown The staff was awesome and the service was so on time and respectful
Excellent meal. Outstanding service. Beautiful setting.
The meal and service were outstanding! Specifically, the pan-seared scallops were probably the best I've ever tasted! The ambiance was very nice and somewhat elegant, although a bit loud. The courtyard was beautiful and would've been wonderful area to dine, however was a bit too cold outside. The servers were very attentive and helpful. Overall, great experience!
