The Peninsula Grill is one of our favorite restaurants. The ambiance is like a lovely, welcoming club, but it’s not stuffy. The food is always delicious. I know they’re known for their Coconut cake, but we decided to try their Chocolate Lava cake - definitely not to be missed! We can’t wait to return!
We came here to celebrate our engagement anniversary and were so glad we did. The service from beginning to end was phenomenal, our server Elizabeth was extremely attentive and made sure our night was perfect. The food was exceptional, i would highly recommend this place on your restaurant list during your stay in Charleston
We have been at Penninsula Grill several times and always enjoyed it immensely.
This time we went for our 51st Anniversary. The service was, as always, fantastic! The food was absolutely excellent. The sommelier’s wine suggestion was perfect. A big thank you to everyone!
Great service, excellent wine recommendations, perfect cocktails, delicious.
My experience at the Peninsula Grill was everything I'd hoped it would be and more. Highly recommend!
The pistachio-encrusted lamb chops were very tender and tasty though there wasn’t much of the pistachio coating. They were served with greens, olives, tiny potatoes, and green beans. The piece de resistance was, of course, the ultimate coconut cake. It was light and moist and very coconutty...it was also HUGE!
Great food! We sTt on the patio, and the evening was perfect!
Mark and Jessica were great. Years ago, Mark was our waiter, remembered us and came over to say hello. Jessica was our waitress this time and she had a great personality along with being a great waitress.
Our server was exceptional. She took a personal interest in our three granddaughters which was much appreciated.
Our anniversary dinner at Peninsula Grill was perfect in every way. Justin provided us with excellent service. The food was delicious, perfectly prepared and served in a beautiful space. The She Crab soup and coconut cake live up to all the rave reviews and then some.
Pre theater dinner experience was terrific. Everything is fresh including salad greens, salmon and halibut!
The food was good but not outstanding for the money they charge.
My husband and I celebrated my 50th birthday here. Everything about Peninsula Grill is perfection. We witnessed incredible service at another table not just our own. We loved the intimate atmosphere that allows you to enjoy conversation. It was a super memorable evening.
This is one of our favorite spots in the country. The food is top notch, the atmosphere is wonderful and the service is attentive and knowledgeable. If I have any complaint, it would be the relaxation of the dress code that we have noticed over the last couple years. We have always viewed this place as true Southern luxury, and we dress accordingly. It can be somewhat bothering to see people in jeans and polo shirts at such a classy place. To the meal...we shared she crab soup and a field green salad, both were amazing! Also started with a great Sancerre half bottle to pair with above.....then wife had scallops over lobster medallions and I had KC strip with foie gras….both were amazing! Topped it off with world famous coconut cake and a lava cake and our night ended perfect and complete! Thanks to Robert for making my 53rd birthday dinner wonderful and to the manager for checking in and making sure we had the best night. I will always return to Peninsula Grill for all the reasons above and if you have not been yet, please go. It is an experience you should not miss. Cheers!
Jessica our server was excellent!!
Even though service was good... food was too salty for me. Wasnt worth the money.
Attention was incredible. Great presentation and flavor.
Service and dinner were on point. You can’t go wrong with this place.
Outstanding service (thank you, Dave) and an incredible meal! Read the reviews on here to make my choice and am so glad I did. We really enjoyed it!
Great service and food!
Amazing food and service
Peninsula Grill is one of our favorite restaurants in Charleston. No visit to the city is complete without dinner here - it has been a must for over 20 years. We have maintained a relationship with certain servers and the sommelier. Staff has changed over the years and we have tried to keep the relationships ongoing. Last evening, the food was delicious, the sommelier (Mark) most helpful, amenable and personable. We appreciated his suggestions and discussion. Our server, while personable was a bit lacking in attentiveness and menu suggestions and engagement overall. While we missed that part of the experience, we will return, of course, as one night does not alter our opinion overall.
Our server Joanna was very knowledgeable and friendly!
We have had the pleasure of dining here before but this was the first time with our foodie friends!! The halibut did not disappoint! He actually stated “this is the best halibut I’ve ever had!”
I chose my go to dish the scallops which are always amazing!!
I can’t say enough about how well our experience is, every time we dine here! We always come back for more!!
We have traveled to Charleston several times and this was our first visit her. WOW honestly one of the best meals/service!!!! Will definitely make it there next time.
Peninsula grill is the best restaurant in Charleston! Can’t wait to go here every time we are in town!!
I had the scallops they were spectacular!!! We will be back. Thank you for a wonderful meal.
Overall the experience was superior. Although the ambiance and service were great, the food was the star of the night. The food was truly outstanding.
Been here many times but the last 2, especially this one was short on attentive service. I don’t know if it was an off night but we expect better. Not bad just not to their standard!
Beautiful restaurant and excellent food. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed dining here. It is located in the Planter’s Inn and very upscale. Everyone working here is lovely and welcoming. The coconut cake is perfect for dessert. I suspect there was nothing on the menu that was not delicious but we can personally vouch for the duck breast and the salmon. The she-crab soup was also delicious. Everything about this restaurant is top tier. If you have a special occasion or want to impress a date, go here. You will not be disappointed.
Best restaurant I have ever eaten at hands down. The steak and sea scallops were amazing! Wait staff was superb.
Great environment, excellent food and amazing service!
Great food, service & overall experience.
Our reservations of a party of 4 was at 7:15. We had been told to request a table in the bar because of the atmosphere. It took over an hour to get appetizers. It then took another hour to get our dinner. Our server seemed to be personally insulted that we ordered 3 appetizers and 2 mains to share with 4 sides. She kept telling us we did not order enough food. We ended up having left overs. At the end of the meal after sitting for 2 hours we wanted to taste the Coconut cake we had heard about, I asked her to please put in a slice of cake while we were finishing up. Instead of doing what I asked, she told me that she would wait and bring us dessert menus when she cleared the table. She walked away and we waited so long that we called over the hostess to flag down our server and get us a check . We never got to taste the coconut cake. My husband and I own restaurants and this was not good service. The food was amazing and we loved it, but the service left a very bad taste.
40th Anniversary with my wife. One of our top five restaurants in the world!
Great service and food!
Thank you Delia!
Great experience and food was amazing. Steak was cooked to perfection and Molten Chocolate Cake was decadent.
Best meal in Charleston and basically one of our best experiences period from the guys at the bar to dinner.
Great evening overall
Quality and food presentation very good. Extremely noisy and loud
Wine and liquor choices very extensive
Definitely one of the higher price restaurants in town
Amazing food with amazing service in an historic upscale setting. The coconut cake stood up to its legendary status.
