Top notch service and ambience. One of our best meals in Charleston! Fantastic wine list!
Superb service and outstanding food
We were Terribly disappointed. Tge menu was boring. My food was not hot and so salty I could not eat it. The noise level was awful, could not have a conversation. The lighting was so bad people were shining phone lights in your eyes. So many better restaurants in Charleston. Even bars were better.
Absolutely the most delicious food in Charleston. Lovely dining room, impeccable service, unhurried dining at its best.
Sadly very loud. Service was exceptional! Food delicious
As always we had a spectacular experience at the Peninsula Grill. The food was excellent and the service was outstanding.
Had an amazing time celebrating my wife's birthday. Food was fanastic, impeccable service, and she mentioned how the staff and its patrons were all so happy
We've been going to Peninsula Grill for years. Whenever we are in Charleston we have a "date night" there and dine outside. Elegant fine dining.
This time the menu choices were "meh" and the medium rare filet I settled on came out still mooing. Had to send it back and I can count on one hand the number of times I've sent food back - at any restaurant anywhere. I don't know if Peninsula Grill is moving more to a tourist crowd or just a new chef or whatever but next Charleston trip may be just drinks versus dinner. There's just too many good restaurants in Charleston to settle. Still a good bar and wine list.
Disappointing dining though ........
We where treated like royalty. Our server name Jonathan he did a perfect job. Our food was delicious and looked like art. It was my birthday Jonathan brought me a beautiful dessert with a candle. We will return on our next trip.
Lovely evening at a beautiful table outside. Food was outstanding. Very accommodating to my husband's food allergies. Waitstaff knowledgeable and professional.
Peninsula Grill was the best restaurant of our vacation. Our special anniversary of 28 years was highlighted by the friendly staff. Welcome us with great service and superb wine selection. The soup (best ever) and dinner was exceptional. Truly outstanding. Bread extremely hot, the water glasses filled. The staff friendly and accommodating. The food was amazing. The chef has a wonderful talent for putting together the most incredible dinner. This is really a TEN star!
It lived up to everything I've read about it. We had a perfect evening.
Perhaps my expectations were too high after years of hearing about how amazing Peninsula Grill is. It wasn't bad, but there was also nothing standout-amazing about the experience either. A good meal, but overall a letdown.
Excellent from start to finish!
We had a very delightful evening, our 2nd visit in two days!! We enjoyed our first night and came back after canceling another restaurant. The wait staff is beyond exceptional. Tuesday was Superior and our waitress Wednesday made our night. Can’t wait to return.
Coconut cake to die for.
I dined alone at Peninsula Grill and was treated the same as multiple parties around me. This was appreciated, and the service and attentiveness was great. The filet was one of the best I've ever had, cooked perfectly at medium. The special salad (didn't have a name as of tonight!) was very creative and tasty - included spiced yougurt, summer squash, pumpkin seeds, eggplant, red butterleaf. But the crown jewel, and the reason I booked in the first place was the coconut cake. It was amazing. Beautifully plated, likely the moistest cake I've ever eaten.
Coconut cake was yummy
Elegant place with great food and service - was perfect for our anniversary. Their famous coconut cake was to die for - so light and delicious!
Only disappointment was where we were seated. Everything else was wonderful!
Sometimes you don’t get what you pay for. We have had better food for 1/4 of the price! Cool experience though!
Always reliable as an outstanding dining experience
Duck entree was amazing... loved the coconut cake of course... the sommelier was charming and knowledgeable. This establishment’s crew is a class act. One of the most romantic date nights ever.
Food was incredible and service as well. Highly recommend this restaurant. Great choices
Wonderful dining experience. Staff was very professional and attentive. Food was delicious. Atmosphere was terrific.
My wife and I started with the She Crab soup and it was delicious. I decided on one of the specials for my entree, halibut, and it was perfection. My wife ordered the scallops and was equally impressed. Great food and superb service!
Beautiful, romantic setting. Wonderful food, with expert wait staff. They are making sure each need is met including culinary senses. Very upscale dining, but an incredibly laid back South Carolina atmosphere.
The Peninsula Grill is a beautiful venue when dining in Charleston. We traveled to Charleston for a family wedding and chose this restaurant for dinner the day we arrived. We had a very fine dinner with superb service which was friendly and attentive .The dining room was lavish yet very comfortable. There is a beautiful entrance from the street through a garden with outdoor dining. We highly recommend this restaurant for all it offers.
Restsurant week! Fabulous meal!!!
Beautiful outside dinner experience service was outstanding
I have been to Peninsula Grill many times and it has always been outstanding however this was the worst experience ever at what once was my favorite place in Charleston. Never go during Restaurant Week, took over an hour to get food . Restaurant week is for people that would never patronize as they are looking for a bargain
Normally Peninsula Grilll service is outstanding as well as the food. During restaurant week something had to give and it was their normal patrons as my experience was disappointing
While we went for restaurant week, we were keeping that in mind when reviewing for another visit. I am not sure that they were prepared for such a crowd, it was very loud, and the attire for some of the guest was inappropriate for the atmosphere. The food itself was delicious except for the main course, which was dry and not prepared properly., however the appetizer, cocktails, and dessert were amazing.
Always delicious. one of our favorite restaurants.
Great food and servuce. It was also restaurant week so it was a fantastic value.
The Peninsula Grill never disappoints. We dined here during restaurant week. This was an accident, not planned when we booked. We ended up having the prix fixe menu which was fantastic and a great value for the three courses. The service was exemplary. We all had a lovely time.
Wonderful evening that started with great service and conversation with Korey and Cassandra at the bar. The we got to enjoy our meal in a booth in the bar. Great food. Great service. A special night!
Great good. Great service. Highly recommend. I've dined all over, this place overdelivers.
Great food. Great service. They are expensive; however, you get personal service and that helps make the restaurant one of Charleston's best.
Always, the best coconut cake. Staff addressed you by name as you left. As I said, great personal service.
Guest in town
The waiter we had was very friendly & personable. Was always one step ahead of us with refills on drinks & keeping us updated about status of our food order. The food was great. Had great flavor, not too much salt and portion size was just enough. The environment was good. Lighting could have been a little brighter. It would have been nice to have either live music or some jazz throughout. We attended on 9-5-2018, it was our wedding anniversary and the hostess congratulated us as we checked in which was very nice and plus for usexwanting to come back again. This was during restaurant week so the price & selections offered were very appealing for a 3 course meal.
