Still the best. The best wait staff. The food is wonderful. Had the duck Sunday night and it was the best I've ever had. Great wine list and, of course, the dessert, (especially the cheese cake) is wonderful. My daughters birthday and it was wonderful. We will always have special family dinners at the Peninsula.

I dined in and had a late reservation. The staff wasn’t pleasant and rushed my evening from start to finish. The waitress did not have much knowledge of the menu and displayed terrible customer service. However the food was decent. I expect top tier service from a restaurant of this caliber. If given a choice I would not dine here again.

Elegant surroundings and impeccable service along with high prices make this a special occasion type of place. We took advantage of Restaurant Week to have a special date night. Quail breast and oyster stew starters were the highlight for us.

We were a party of 4 that took advantage of Restaurant Week. We arrived a little early for our reservation and was seated without a wait. The special menu offered enough choices to cover all of our differing taste preferences beautifully. Our table’s favorites included the quail salad, crusted flounder (although the beef short ribs looked heavenly), and chocolate bread pudding. The service was excellent. Peninsula Grill remains a favorite.

So impressed by Peninsula Grill! My husband and I reserved a table at PG for his birthday, and it offered the optimal setting to celebrate. Everything was perfect; the service, the ambiance, and the food were all equally remarkable. Ray was just the right amount of attentive—there to refill drinks and bring the subsequent courses at the right times. The restaurant is beautiful and romantic. Tables are positioned so that each party (no matter how large or small) can enjoy private conversation. With regards to the food, in a word, amazing! The pan roasted scallops, cornmeal crusted snapper, she crab soup, chef’s field greens salad, homemade bread, and banana panna cotta pudding were delectable. Presentation was en pointe. There was no weak link to our experience from beginning to end; one of the best dining experiences of our lives!

A classic evening on the town is more the feel of this high end restaurant. My husband enjoyed a classic martini and fine wine with his Oscar-style rib eye, while I dined on expertly seared scallops. The meal was delectable and the service was excellent.

The cuisine could be much more creative. The menu is expensive and the wine list is super expensive and overall the dining experience is not a good value. The service was the best part of the experience but the server kept trying to enter our conversation when she came to our table of four- the server needs to be discreet.

This was our first time to your restaurant and decided to try it during restaurant week and get the 3 course dinner. It was delicious and the service was wonderful. The hostess called me by my name upon entering and leaving, that was a nice touch.

It was restaurant week so prices were more affordable. ThePeninsula Grill does all the little things right. Nothing cheap or poorly done. The main thing is that the food for both of us came out hot. Lots of great flavors and seasonings.

We participated in the Restaurant Week menu. The appetizer (Oyster Stew) and the dessert (caramel tart) were outstanding, but the short rib entree was disappointing. More like an overcooked rump steak than a true, melt-in-your-mouth short rib. Service excellent as always and a broad range of wine selections with some specials for RW.

Lovely restaurant in Charleston. Service is impeccable-our server, Johnathan, could not have been more pleasant and professional. We felt he went out of his way, as well as the rest of the staff, to make our visit special (anniversary). The food was just delicious. We both had snapper and my only wish is that I had more of an appetite after spending a couple days in "the city where food is king!". If you want to celebrate a special occasion, I'd highly recommend it. It's nice to see folks dress up!

We went for my birthday. Food was quite good, but restaurant week menu was lacking a bit and not as advertised. The desserts were not worth eating. Service was good but not timely. Found ourselves waiting around a lot between courses, which made the dinner almost two hours when could of been accomplished in an hour. Not sure we would go back but glad we tried it.

Always impeccable in every category. However this time I tried the bread pudding and would suggest to the pastry chef that bread pudding is best with inconsistent consistency-rather than mousse-like.
Peninsula Grill remains one of my top 3 dining experiences as a somewhat new Charlestonian.

Restaurants just don’t get better than this. A true classic. Beautiful room, gracious and knowledgeable staff, a menu that is nearly impossible to navigate given how there are no wrong choices and ample options perfectly described. The execution of the promised was perfect, presented perfectly, and the entire experience not one false note. Anyone travelling to Charleston would be well-advised to eat here.
